1 A nd the heavens and the earth are completed, and all their host;

Так совершены небо и земля и все воинство их.

2 a nd God completeth by the seventh day His work which He hath made, and ceaseth by the seventh day from all His work which He hath made.

И совершил Бог к седьмому дню дела Свои, которые Он делал, и почил в день седьмый от всех дел Своих, которые делал.

3 A nd God blesseth the seventh day, and sanctifieth it, for in it He hath ceased from all His work which God had prepared for making.

И благословил Бог седьмой день, и освятил его, ибо в оный почил от всех дел Своих, которые Бог творил и созидал.

4 T hese births of the heavens and of the earth in their being prepared, in the day of Jehovah God's making earth and heavens;

Вот происхождение неба и земли, при сотворении их, в то время, когда Господь Бог создал землю и небо,

5 a nd no shrub of the field is yet in the earth, and no herb of the field yet sprouteth, for Jehovah God hath not rained upon the earth, and a man there is not to serve the ground,

и всякий полевой кустарник, которого еще не было на земле, и всякую полевую траву, которая еще не росла, ибо Господь Бог не посылал дождя на землю, и не было человека для возделывания земли,

6 a nd a mist goeth up from the earth, and hath watered the whole face of the ground.

но пар поднимался с земли и орошал все лице земли.

7 A nd Jehovah God formeth the man -- dust from the ground, and breatheth into his nostrils breath of life, and the man becometh a living creature.

И создал Господь Бог человека из праха земного, и вдунул в лице его дыхание жизни, и стал человек душею живою.

8 A nd Jehovah God planteth a garden in Eden, at the east, and He setteth there the man whom He hath formed;

И насадил Господь Бог рай в Едеме на востоке, и поместил там человека, которого создал.

9 a nd Jehovah God causeth to sprout from the ground every tree desirable for appearance, and good for food, and the tree of life in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

И произрастил Господь Бог из земли всякое дерево, приятное на вид и хорошее для пищи, и дерево жизни посреди рая, и дерево познания добра и зла.

10 A nd a river is going out from Eden to water the garden, and from thence it is parted, and hath become four chief;

Из Едема выходила река для орошения рая; и потом разделялась на четыре реки.

11 t he name of the one Pison, it that which is surrounding the whole land of the Havilah where the gold,

Имя одной Фисон: она обтекает всю землю Хавила, ту, где золото;

12 a nd the gold of that land good, there the bdolach and the shoham stone;

и золото той земли хорошее; там бдолах и камень оникс.

13 a nd the name of the second river Gibon, it that which is surrounding the whole land of Cush;

Имя второй реки Гихон: она обтекает всю землю Куш.

14 a nd the name of the third river Hiddekel, it that which is going east of Asshur; and the fourth river is Phrat.

Имя третьей реки Хиддекель: она протекает пред Ассириею. Четвертая река Евфрат.

15 A nd Jehovah God taketh the man, and causeth him to rest in the garden of Eden, to serve it, and to keep it.

И взял Господь Бог человека, и поселил его в саду Едемском, чтобы возделывать его и хранить его.

16 A nd Jehovah God layeth a charge on the man, saying, `Of every tree of the garden eating thou dost eat;

И заповедал Господь Бог человеку, говоря: от всякого дерева в саду ты будешь есть,

17 a nd of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou dost not eat of it, for in the day of thine eating of it -- dying thou dost die.'

а от дерева познания добра и зла не ешь от него, ибо в день, в который ты вкусишь от него, смертью умрешь.

18 A nd Jehovah God saith, `Not good for the man to be alone, I do make to him an helper -- as his counterpart.'

И сказал Господь Бог: не хорошо быть человеку одному; сотворим ему помощника, соответственного ему.

19 A nd Jehovah God formeth from the ground every beast of the field, and every fowl of the heavens, and bringeth in unto the man, to see what he doth call it; and whatever the man calleth a living creature, that its name.

Господь Бог образовал из земли всех животных полевых и всех птиц небесных, и привел к человеку, чтобы видеть, как он назовет их, и чтобы, как наречет человек всякую душу живую, так и было имя ей.

20 A nd the man calleth names to all the cattle, and to fowl of the heavens, and to every beast of the field; and to man hath not been found an helper -- as his counterpart.

И нарек человек имена всем скотам и птицам небесным и всем зверям полевым; но для человека не нашлось помощника, подобного ему.

21 A nd Jehovah God causeth a deep sleep to fall upon the man, and he sleepeth, and He taketh one of his ribs, and closeth up flesh in its stead.

И навел Господь Бог на человека крепкий сон; и, когда он уснул, взял одно из ребр его, и закрыл то место плотию.

22 A nd Jehovah God buildeth up the rib which He hath taken out of the man into a woman, and bringeth her in unto the man;

И создал Господь Бог из ребра, взятого у человека, жену, и привел ее к человеку.

23 a nd the man saith, `This the step! bone of my bone, and flesh of my flesh!' for this it is called Woman, for from a man hath this been taken;

И сказал человек: вот, это кость от костей моих и плоть от плоти моей; она будет называться женою, ибо взята от мужа.

24 t herefore doth a man leave his father and his mother, and hath cleaved unto his wife, and they have become one flesh.

Потому оставит человек отца своего и мать свою и прилепится к жене своей; и будут одна плоть.

25 A nd they are both of them naked, the man and his wife, and they are not ashamed of themselves.

И были оба наги, Адам и жена его, и не стыдились.
