1 A nd Moses answereth and saith, `And, if they do not give credence to me, nor hearken to my voice, and say, Jehovah hath not appeared unto thee?'

И отвечал Моисей и сказал: а если они не поверят мне и не послушают голоса моего и скажут: не явился тебе Господь?

2 A nd Jehovah saith unto him, `What this in thy hand?' and he saith, `A rod;'

И сказал ему Господь: что это в руке у тебя? Он отвечал: жезл.

3 a nd He saith, `Cast it to the earth;' and he casteth it to the earth, and it becometh a serpent -- and Moses fleeth from its presence.

сказал: брось его на землю. Он бросил его на землю, и жезл превратился в змея, и Моисей побежал от него.

4 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Put forth thy hand, and lay hold on the tail of it;' and he putteth forth his hand, and layeth hold on it, and it becometh a rod in his hand --

И сказал Господь Моисею: простри руку твою и возьми его за хвост. Он простер руку свою, и взял его; и он стал жезлом в руке его.

5 ` -- so that they believe that Jehovah, God of their fathers, hath appeared unto thee, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, and God of Jacob.'

Это для того, чтобы поверили, что явился тебе Господь, Бог отцов их, Бог Авраама, Бог Исаака и Бог Иакова.

6 A nd Jehovah saith to him again, `Put in, I pray thee, thy hand into thy bosom;' and he putteth in his hand into his bosom, and he bringeth it out, and lo, his hand leprous as snow;

Еще сказал ему Господь: положи руку твою к себе в пазуху. И он положил руку свою к себе в пазуху, вынул ее, и вот, рука его побелела от проказы, как снег.

7 a nd He saith, `Put back thy hand unto thy bosom;' and he putteth back his hand unto his bosom, and he bringeth it out from his bosom, and lo, it hath turned back as his flesh --

сказал: положи опять руку твою к себе в пазуху. И он положил руку свою к себе в пазуху; и вынул ее из пазухи своей, и вот, она опять стала такою же, как тело его.

8 ` -- and it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence to thee, and hearken not to the voice of the first sign, that they have given credence to the voice of the latter sign.

Если они не поверят тебе и не послушают голоса первого знамения, то поверят голосу знамения другого;

9 ` And it hath come to pass, if they do not give credence even to these two signs, nor hearken to thy voice, that thou hast taken of the waters of the River, and hast poured on the dry land, and the waters which thou takest from the River have been, yea, they have become -- blood on the dry land.'

если же не поверят и двум сим знамениям и не послушают голоса твоего, то возьми воды реки и вылей на сушу; и вода, взятая из реки, сделается кровью на суше.

10 A nd Moses saith unto Jehovah, `O, my Lord, I not a man of words, either yesterday, or before, or since Thy speaking unto Thy servant, for I slow of mouth, and slow of tongue.'

И сказал Моисей Господу: о, Господи! человек я не речистый, и вчера и третьего дня, и когда Ты начал говорить с рабом Твоим: я тяжело говорю и косноязычен.

11 A nd Jehovah saith unto him, `Who appointed a mouth for man? or who appointeth the dumb, or deaf, or open, or blind? is it not I, Jehovah?

Господь сказал: кто дал уста человеку? кто делает немым, или глухим, или зрячим, или слепым? не Я ли Господь?

12 a nd now, go, and I -- I am with thy mouth, and have directed thee that which thou speakest;'

итак пойди, и Я буду при устах твоих и научу тебя, что тебе говорить.

13 a nd he saith, `O, my Lord, send, I pray thee, by the hand Thou dost send.'

сказал: Господи! пошли другого, кого можешь послать.

14 A nd the anger of Jehovah burneth against Moses, and He saith, `Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I have known that he speaketh well, and also, lo, he is coming out to meet thee; when he hath seen thee, then he hath rejoiced in his heart,

И возгорелся гнев Господень на Моисея, и Он сказал: разве нет у тебя Аарона брата, Левитянина? Я знаю, что он может говорить, и вот, он выйдет навстречу тебе, и, увидев тебя, возрадуется в сердце своем;

15 a nd thou hast spoken unto him, and hast set the words in his mouth, and I -- I am with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and have directed you that which ye do;

ты будешь ему говорить и влагать слова в уста его, а Я буду при устах твоих и при устах его и буду учить вас, что вам делать;

16 a nd he, he hath spoken for thee unto the people, and it hath come to pass, he -- he is to thee for a mouth, and thou -- thou art to him for God;

и будет говорить он вместо тебя к народу; итак он будет твоими устами, а ты будешь ему вместо Бога;

17 a nd this rod thou dost take in thy hand, with which thou doest the signs.'

и жезл сей возьми в руку твою: им ты будешь творить знамения.

18 A nd Moses goeth and turneth back unto Jethro his father-in-law, and saith to him, `Let me go, I pray thee, and I turn back unto my brethren who in Egypt, and I see whether they are yet alive.' And Jethro saith to Moses, `Go in peace.'

И пошел Моисей, и возвратился к Иофору, тестю своему, и сказал ему: пойду я, и возвращусь к братьям моим, которые в Египте, и посмотрю, живы ли еще они? И сказал Иофор Моисею: иди с миром.

19 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses in Midian, `Go, turn back to Egypt, for all the men have died who seek thy life;'

И сказал Господь Моисею в Мадиамской: пойди, возвратись в Египет, ибо умерли все, искавшие души твоей.

20 a nd Moses taketh his wife, and his sons, and causeth them to ride on the ass, and turneth back to the land of Egypt, and Moses taketh the rod of God in his hand.

И взял Моисей жену свою и сыновей своих, посадил их на осла и отправился в землю Египетскую. И жезл Божий Моисей взял в руку свою.

21 A nd Jehovah saith unto Moses, `In thy going to turn back to Egypt, see -- all the wonders which I have put in thy hand -- that thou hast done them before Pharaoh, and I -- I strengthen his heart, and he doth not send the people away;

И сказал Господь Моисею: когда пойдешь и возвратишься в Египет, смотри, все чудеса, которые Я поручил тебе, сделай пред лицем фараона, а Я ожесточу сердце его, и он не отпустит народа.

22 a nd thou hast said unto Pharaoh, Thus said Jehovah, My son, My first-born Israel,

И скажи фараону: так говорит Господь: Израиль сын Мой, первенец Мой;

23 a nd I say unto thee, Send away My son, and he doth serve Me; and -- thou dost refuse to send him away -- lo, I am slaying thy son, thy first-born.'

Я говорю тебе: отпусти сына Моего, чтобы он совершил Мне служение; а если не отпустишь его, то вот, Я убью сына твоего, первенца твоего.

24 A nd it cometh to pass in the way, in a lodging place, that Jehovah meeteth him, and seeketh to put him to death;

Дорогою на ночлеге случилось, что встретил его Господь и хотел умертвить его.

25 a nd Zipporah taketh a flint, and cutteth off the foreskin of her son, and causeth to touch his feet, and saith, `Surely a bridegroom of blood thou to me;'

Тогда Сепфора, взяв каменный нож, обрезала крайнюю плоть сына своего и, бросив к ногам его, сказала: ты жених крови у меня.

26 a nd He desisteth from him: then she said, `A bridegroom of blood,' in reference to the circumcision.

И отошел от него. Тогда сказала она: жених крови--по обрезанию.

27 A nd Jehovah saith unto Aaron, `Go to meet Moses into the wilderness;' and he goeth, and meeteth him in the mount of God, and kisseth him,

И Господь сказал Аарону: пойди навстречу Моисею в пустыню. И он пошел, и встретился с ним при горе Божией, и поцеловал его.

28 a nd Moses declareth to Aaron all the words of Jehovah with which He hath sent him, and all the signs with which He hath charged him.

И пересказал Моисей Аарону все слова Господа, Который его послал, и все знамения, которые Он заповедал.

29 A nd Moses goeth -- Aaron also -- and they gather all the elders of the sons of Israel,

И пошел Моисей с Аароном, и собрали они всех старейшин сынов Израилевых,

30 a nd Aaron speaketh all the words which Jehovah hath spoken unto Moses, and doth the signs before the eyes of the people;

и пересказал Аарон все слова, которые говорил Господь Моисею; и сделал знамения пред глазами народа,

31 a nd the people believe when they hear that Jehovah hath looked after the sons of Israel, and that He hath seen their affliction; and they bow and do obeisance.

и поверил народ; и услышали, что Господь посетил сынов Израилевых и увидел страдание их, и преклонились они и поклонились.
