1 E stos eran los descendientes de Aarón y de Moisés, en el día en que Jehová habló a Moisés en el monte Sinaí.

And these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that Jehovah spoke with Moses on mount Sinai.

2 É stos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón: Nadab, el primogénito, Abiú, Eleazar e Itamar.

And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the firstborn, and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

3 É stos son los nombres de los hijos de Aarón, sacerdotes ungidos, a los cuales consagró para ejercer el sacerdocio.

These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the anointed priests, who were consecrated to exercise the priesthood.

4 P ero Nadab y Abiú murieron delante de Jehová cuando ofrecieron fuego extraño delante de Jehová en el desierto de Sinaí. Y no tuvieron hijos. Eleazar e Itamar ejercieron el sacerdocio en presencia de Aarón su padre.

And Nadab and Abihu died before Jehovah when they offered strange fire before Jehovah in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no sons; and Eleazar and Ithamar exercised the priesthood in the presence of Aaron their father.

5 J ehová habló a Moisés y le dijo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

6 « Haz que se acerque la tribu de Leví, y ponla delante del sacerdote Aarón, para que lo sirvan.

Bring the tribe of Levi near, and present them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him;

7 E starán a su servicio y al de toda la congregación delante del Tabernáculo de reunión, sirviendo en el ministerio del Tabernáculo.

and they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole assembly, before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.

8 C uidarán de todos los utensilios del Tabernáculo de reunión, y de todo lo encargado a ellos por los hijos de Israel, ministrando en el servicio del Tabernáculo.

And they shall keep all the utensils of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.

9 C onfiarás los levitas a Aarón y a sus hijos, pues le son enteramente dados de entre los hijos de Israel.

And thou shalt give the Levites to Aaron and to his sons: they are wholly given to him out of the children of Israel.

10 A Aarón y a sus hijos les encargarás que ejerzan su sacerdocio. Y el extraño que se acerque, morirá.»

And Aaron and his sons shalt thou appoint that they may attend to their priest's office; and the stranger that cometh near shall be put to death.

11 J ehová habló a Moisés y le dijo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

12 « Yo he tomado a los levitas de entre los hijos de Israel en lugar de todos los primogénitos, los primeros nacidos entre los hijos de Israel; serán, pues, míos los levitas

And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every firstborn that breaketh open the womb among the children of Israel, and the Levites shall be mine;

13 p orque mío es todo primogénito. Desde el día en que yo hice morir a todos los primogénitos en la tierra de Egipto, santifiqué para mí a todos los primogénitos en Israel, tanto de hombres como de animales. Míos serán. Yo, Jehová.»

for every firstborn is mine. On the day that I smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I hallowed unto me all the firstborn in Israel, both of man and beast; mine shall they be: I am Jehovah.

14 J ehová habló a Moisés en el desierto de Sinaí, y le dijo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

15 « Haz un censo de los hijos de Leví según las casas de sus padres y por familias: registrarás a todos los varones de un mes para arriba.»

Number the sons of Levi according to their fathers' houses, after their families; every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.

16 Y Moisés los registró conforme a la palabra de Jehová, como le fue mandado.

And Moses numbered them, according to the commandment of Jehovah,—as he had been commanded.

17 L os nombres de los hijos de Leví fueron estos: Gersón, Coat y Merari.

And these are the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.

18 L os nombres de los hijos de Gersón por sus familias son estos: Libni y Simei.

And these are the names of the sons of Gershon according to their families: Libni and Shimei.

19 L os hijos de Coat por sus familias son: Amram, Izhar, Hebrón y Uziel.

And the sons of Kohath according to their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.

20 L os hijos de Merari por sus familias: Mahli y Musi. Éstas son las familias de Leví, según las casas de sus padres.

And the sons of Merari according to their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.

21 D e Gersón procedía la familia de Libni y la de Simei; ésas son las familias de Gersón.

Of Gershon, the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimites: these are the families of the Gershonites.

22 L os registrados de ellos, contando a todos los varones de un mes para arriba, fueron siete mil quinientos.

Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, those that were numbered of them were seven thousand five hundred.

23 L as familias de Gersón acampaban a espaldas del Tabernáculo, al occidente.

The families of the Gershonites encamped behind the tabernacle westward.

24 E l jefe del linaje de los gersonitas era Eliasaf hijo de Lael.

And the prince of the father's house of the Gershonites was Eliasaph the son of Lael.

25 L os hijos de Gersón estaban encargados, en el Tabernáculo de reunión, de la tienda y su cubierta, la cortina de la puerta del Tabernáculo de reunión,

And the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting was: the tabernacle and the tent, its covering, and the curtain of the entrance to the tent of meeting.

26 l as cortinas del atrio y la cortina de la puerta del atrio que rodea el Tabernáculo y el altar; así como de las cuerdas necesarias para todo el servicio.

And the hangings of the court, and the curtain of the entrance to the court, which surrounds the tabernacle and the altar, and the cords thereof for all its service.

27 D e Coat procedía la familia de los amramitas, la familia de los izharitas, la familia de los hebronitas y la familia de los uzielitas; ésas son las familias coatitas.

And of Kohath, the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites: these are the families of the Kohathites.

28 E l número de todos los varones de un mes para arriba era de ocho mil seiscientos. Tenían la custodia del santuario.

According to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, there were eight thousand six hundred, who kept the charge of the sanctuary.

29 L as familias de los hijos de Coat acampaban al lado del Tabernáculo, hacia el sur.

The families of the sons of Kohath encamped on the side of the tabernacle southward.

30 E l jefe del linaje de las familias de Coat era Elizafán hijo de Uziel.

And the prince of the father's house of the families of the Kohathites was Elizaphan the son of Uzziel.

31 A su cuidado estaban el Arca, la mesa, el candelabro, los altares, los utensilios del santuario con que ministran, el velo y todo su servicio.

And their charge was the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the utensils of the sanctuary with which they ministered, and the curtain, and all that belongs to its service.

32 E l principal de los jefes de los levitas era Eleazar, hijo del sacerdote Aarón, jefe de los que tienen la custodia del santuario.

And the prince of princes of the Levites was Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest: he had the oversight of them that kept the charge of the sanctuary.

33 D e Merari era la familia de los mahlitas y la familia de los musitas; ésas son las familias de Merari.

Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites: these are the families of Merari.

34 L os registrados de ellos, contando a todos los varones de un mes para arriba, fueron seis mil doscientos hombres.

And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand two hundred.

35 E l jefe de la casa paterna de Merari era Zuriel hijo de Abihail. Acampaban al lado del Tabernáculo, hacia el norte.

And the prince of the father's house of the families of Merari was Zuriel the son of Abihail. They encamped on the side of the tabernacle northward.

36 A cargo de los hijos de Merari estaba la custodia de las tablas del Tabernáculo, sus barras, sus columnas, sus basas y todos sus enseres, con todo su servicio,

And the charge of the sons of Merari consisted in the oversight of the boards of the tabernacle, and its bars, and its pillars, and its bases, and all its furniture, and all that belongs to its service,

37 a sí como las columnas alrededor del atrio, sus basas, sus estacas y sus cuerdas.

and the pillars of the court round about, and their bases, and their pegs, and their cords.

38 A l oriente, frente al santuario y delante del Tabernáculo de reunión, hacia el este, acampaban Moisés, Aarón y sus hijos, que estaban a cargo de la custodia del santuario en nombre de los hijos de Israel. Y el extraño que se acercara, debería morir.

And those who encamped before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, who kept the charge of the sanctuary for the charge of the children of Israel; and the stranger that cometh near shall be put to death.

39 T odos los levitas censados, que Moisés y Aarón registraron por familias, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, todos los varones de un mes para arriba, fueron veintidos mil. Rescate de los primogénitos

All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of Jehovah, according to their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty-two thousand.

40 J ehová dijo a Moisés: «Haz un censo de todos los primogénitos varones entre los hijos de Israel de un mes para arriba, y registra sus nombres.

And Jehovah said to Moses, Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.

41 L uego tomarás para mí a los levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel, y los animales de los levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los animales de los hijos de Israel. Yo, Jehová.»

And thou shalt take the Levites for me (I am Jehovah) instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites, instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.

42 M oisés hizo el censo, como Jehová le mandó, de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel.

And Moses numbered, as Jehovah had commanded him, all the firstborn among the children of Israel.

43 Y todos los primogénitos varones registrados por nombre, de un mes para arriba, fueron veintidos mil doscientos setenta y tres.

And all the firstborn males, by the number of the names, from a month old and upward, according to their numbering, were twenty-two thousand two hundred and seventy-three.

44 L uego habló Jehová a Moisés y le dijo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

45 « Toma a los levitas en lugar de todos los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel, y los animales de los levitas en lugar de sus animales, y los levitas serán míos. Yo, Jehová.

Take the Levites instead of all the firstborn among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be mine: I am Jehovah.

46 P ero para el rescate de los doscientos setenta y tres primogénitos de los hijos de Israel que exceden a los levitas,

And for those that are to be ransomed, the two hundred and seventy-three of the firstborn of the children of Israel, which are in excess over the Levites,

47 t omarás cinco siclos por cabeza; conforme al siclo del santuario los tomarás (el siclo tiene veinte geras).

thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll, according to the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them,—twenty gerahs the shekel;

48 E ntregarás a Aarón y a sus hijos el dinero del rescate de los que exceden.»

and thou shalt give the money unto Aaron and unto his sons for those in excess among them who are to be ransomed.

49 T omó, pues, Moisés el dinero del rescate de los que excedían el número de los redimidos por los levitas,

And Moses took the ransom-money from them that were over and above those who were ransomed by the Levites;

50 y recibió de los primogénitos de los hijos de Israel, en dinero, mil trescientos sesenta y cinco siclos, conforme al siclo del santuario.

of the firstborn of the children of Israel he took the money, a thousand three hundred and sixty-five, according to the shekel of the sanctuary.

51 D espués Moisés entregó el dinero de los rescates a Aarón y a sus hijos, conforme a la palabra de Jehová, según lo que Jehová le había mandado.

And Moses gave the money of them that were ransomed to Aaron and to his sons, according to the commandment of Jehovah,—as Jehovah had commanded Moses.
