1 E ra Sedequías de edad de veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Hamutal, hija de Jeremías de Libna.

Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hamutal, daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

2 E hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, conforme a todo lo que hizo Joacim.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

3 Y a causa de la ira de Jehová contra Jerusalén y Judá, llegó a echarlos de su presencia. Y Sedequías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia. Caída de Jerusalén

For, because the anger of Jehovah was against Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

4 A conteció, pues, a los nueve años de su reinado, en el mes décimo, a los diez días del mes, que vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, él y todo su ejército, contra Jerusalén, y acamparon contra ella. Por todas partes levantaron terraplenes para atacarla.

And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem; and they encamped against it, and built turrets against it round about.

5 Y permaneció sitiada la ciudad hasta el undécimo año del rey Sedequías.

And the city was besieged until the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

6 E n el mes cuarto, a los nueve días del mes, cuando el hambre en la ciudad era ya tan grave que no había pan para el pueblo,

In the fourth month, on the ninth of the month, the famine prevailed in the city, and there was no bread for the people of the land.

7 s e abrió una brecha en el muro de la ciudad, y todos los hombres de guerra huyeron. Salieron de noche de la ciudad por el camino de la puerta entre los dos muros que había cerca del jardín del rey, y se fueron por el camino del Arabá mientras los caldeos mantenían su cerco a la ciudad.

And the city was broken into: and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night, by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king's garden (now the Chaldeans were near the city round about); and they went the way toward the plain.

8 P ero el ejército de los caldeos persiguió al rey hasta la llanura de Jericó. Allí dieron alcance a Sedequías, a quien todo su ejército había abandonado.

And the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

9 E ntonces apresaron al rey y lo llevaron ante el rey de Babilonia, a Ribla, en tierra de Hamat, donde pronunció sentencia contra él.

And they took the king, and brought him up to the king of Babylon, unto Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he pronounced judgment upon him.

10 Y degolló el rey de Babilonia a los hijos de Sedequías ante sus ojos; y también degolló en Ribla a todos los jefes de Judá.

And the king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes; and he slaughtered also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

11 A Sedequías, el rey de Babilonia le sacó los ojos, lo ató con grillos y lo hizo llevar a Babilonia, donde lo encarceló hasta el día de su muerte. Cautividad de Judá

And he put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him with chains of brass; and the king of Babylon carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

12 E n el mes quinto, a los diez días del mes, que era el año diecinueve del reinado de Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, vino a Jerusalén Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, que solía permanecer cerca del rey de Babilonia.

And in the fifth month, on the tenth of the month, which was in the nineteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, Nebuzar-adan, captain of the body-guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, came unto Jerusalem;

13 É l quemó la casa de Jehová, la casa del rey y todas las casas de Jerusalén. Destruyó a fuego todo edificio grande.

and he burned the house of Jehovah, and the king's house, and all the houses of Jerusalem; and every great house he burned with fire.

14 T odo el ejército de los caldeos que venía con el capitán de la guardia destruyó los muros en todo el contorno de Jerusalén.

And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the body-guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem round about.

15 E hizo deportar Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, a los pobres del pueblo, a toda la otra gente del pueblo que había quedado en la ciudad, a los desertores que se habían pasado al rey de Babilonia y a todo el resto de la multitud del pueblo.

And Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard carried away captive of the poorest sort of the people, and the rest of the people that were left in the city, and the deserters that had deserted to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.

16 P ero Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, dejó de los pobres del país para que fueran viñadores y labradores.

But Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard left of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for husbandmen.

17 L os caldeos quebraron las columnas de bronce que estaban en la casa de Jehová, las basas y el mar de bronce que estaba en la casa de Jehová, y llevaron todo el bronce a Babilonia.

And the brazen pillars that were in the house of Jehovah, and the bases, and the brazen sea that was in the house of Jehovah, the Chaldeans broke up, and carried all the brass thereof to Babylon.

18 S e llevaron también los calderos, las palas, las despabiladeras, los tazones, las cucharas y todos los utensilios de bronce usados en el culto,

The pots also, and the shovels, and the knives, and the bowls, and the cups, and all the vessels of brass wherewith they ministered, they took away.

19 l os incensarios, tazones, copas, ollas, candelabros, escudillas y tazas; tanto lo de oro como lo de plata, se lo llevó el capitán de la guardia.

And the basons and the censers, and the bowls, and the pots, and the candlesticks, and the cups, and the goblets, that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, the captain of the body-guard took away.

20 E n cuanto a las dos columnas, el mar y los doce bueyes de bronce que estaban debajo de las basas que había hecho el rey Salomón en la casa de Jehová, el peso de todo este bronce resultó incalculable.

The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that formed the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Jehovah: for the brass of all these vessels there was no weight.

21 R especto a las columnas, la altura de cada una de ellas era de dieciocho codos, y un cordón de doce codos la rodeaba. Su espesor era de cuatro dedos, y eran huecas.

And as to the pillars: the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits, and a line of twelve cubits encompassed it; and the thickness thereof was four fingers: it was hollow.

22 E l capitel de bronce que había sobre la columna era de cinco codos de altura; y tenía el capitel a su alrededor una red y granadas, todo de bronce. Y lo mismo era lo que tenía la segunda columna con sus granadas.

And the capital upon it was brass, and the height of the one capital five cubits; and the network and the pomegranates, upon the capital round about, all of brass; and similarly for the second pillar, and the pomegranates.

23 H abía noventa y seis granadas en cada hilera; en total eran cien alrededor de la red.

And there were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates upon the network were a hundred round about.

24 T omó también el capitán de la guardia a Seraías, el principal sacerdote, a Sofonías, el segundo sacerdote, y a tres guardas del atrio.

And the captain of the body-guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three doorkeepers.

25 Y de la ciudad tomó a un oficial que era capitán de los hombres de guerra, a siete hombres de los consejeros íntimos del rey, que estaban en la ciudad, y al principal secretario de la milicia, que pasaba revista al pueblo del país, para la guerra, y a sesenta hombres del pueblo que se hallaron dentro de la ciudad.

And out of the city he took a eunuch that was set over the men of war, and seven men of them that were in the king's presence, who were found in the city, and the scribe of the captain of the host, who enrolled the people of the land. And sixty men of the people of the land that were found in the midst of the city.

26 L os tomó, pues, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, y los llevó al rey de Babilonia, en Ribla.

And Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah;

27 E l rey de Babilonia los hirió y los mató en Ribla, en tierra de Hamat. Así fue deportada Judá de su tierra.

and the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

28 É ste fue el pueblo que Nabucodonosor llevó cautivo: En el año séptimo, a tres mil veintitrés hombres de Judá.

This is the people whom Nebuchadrezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand and twenty-three Jews;

29 E n el año dieciocho de Nabucodonosor, llevó él cautivas de Jerusalén a ochocientas treinta y dos personas.

in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar from Jerusalem eight hundred and thirty-two persons;

30 E l año veintitrés de Nabucodonosor, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, llevó cautivos a setecientos cuarenta y cinco hombres de Judá. El total, pues, de las personas fue de cuatro mil seiscientas. Joaquín es libertado y recibe honores en Babilonia

in the twenty-third year of Nebuchadrezzar, Nebuzar-adan the captain of the body-guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred and forty-five persons: all the persons were four thousand six hundred.

31 S ucedió que en el año treinta y siete del cautiverio de Joaquín, rey de Judá, en el mes duodécimo, a los veinticinco días del mes, Evil-merodac, rey de Babilonia, en el año primero de su reinado, levantó la cabeza de Joaquín, rey de Judá, y lo sacó de la cárcel.

And it came to pass in the thirty-seventh year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth of the month, Evil-Merodach king of Babylon, in the year that he began to reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;

32 H abló con él amigablemente, e hizo poner su trono por encima de los tronos de los reyes que estaban con él en Babilonia.

and he spoke kindly unto him, and set his seat above the seat of the kings that were with him in Babylon.

33 L e hizo mudar también los vestidos de prisionero, y ya siempre comió pan en la mesa del rey, todos los días de su vida.

And he changed his prison garments; and he ate bread before him continually all the days of his life;

34 C ada día, durante todos los días de su vida y hasta el día de su muerte, recibió una ración de parte del rey de Babilonia.

and his allowance was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
