1 ¿ Por qué tú, poderoso, te jactas de la maldad? ¡La misericordia de Dios es continua!

Why boastest thou thyself in evil, thou mighty man? The loving-kindness of God continually.

2 A gravios maquina tu lengua; engaña como navaja afilada.

Thy tongue deviseth mischievous things, like a sharp razor, practising deceit.

3 A maste el mal más que el bien, la mentira más que la verdad. Selah

Thou hast loved evil rather than good, lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

4 H as amado toda suerte de palabras perversas, engañosa lengua.

Thou hast loved all devouring words, O deceitful tongue!

5 P or tanto, Dios te destruirá para siempre, te arruinará y te echará de tu casa, te desarraigará de la tierra de los vivientes. Selah

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever; he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

6 V erán los justos y temerán; se reirán de él, diciendo:

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him,

7 « Éste es el hombre que no consideró a Dios como su fortaleza, sino que confió en sus muchas riquezas y se mantuvo en su maldad.»

Behold the man that made not God his strength, but put confidence in the abundance of his riches, strengthened himself in his avarice.

8 P ero yo estoy como olivo verde en la casa de Dios; ¡en la misericordia de Dios confío eternamente y para siempre!

But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I will confide in the loving-kindness of God for ever and ever.

9 T e alabaré para siempre, porque lo has hecho así. Esperaré en tu nombre, porque es bueno, delante de tus santos.

I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done; and I will wait on thy name, before thy godly ones, for it is good.
