1 D espués de veinte años, durante los cuales Salomón había edificado la casa de Jehová y su propia casa,

And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the house of Jehovah and his own house,

2 r eedificó Salomón las ciudades que Hiram le había dado y estableció en ellas a los hijos de Israel.

that the cities which Huram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them and caused the children of Israel to dwell there.

3 D espués marchó Salomón contra Hamat de Soba, y la tomó.

And Solomon went to Hamath-Zobah, and overcame it.

4 Y edificó a Tadmor en el desierto, y todas las ciudades de aprovisionamiento que edificó en Hamat.

And he built Tadmor, in the wilderness, and all the store-cities, which he built in Hamath.

5 A simismo reedificó a Bet-horón la de arriba y a Bet-horón la de abajo, ciudades fortificadas, con muros, puertas y barras;

And he built upper Beth-Horon and lower Beth-Horon, fortified cities, with walls, gates, and bars;

6 a Baalat, y a todas las ciudades de avituallamiento que pertenecían a Salomón; también todas las ciudades de los carros y las de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra sujeta a su dominio.

and Baalath, and all the store-cities that Solomon had, and all the cities for chariots, and the cities for the horsemen, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and on Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

7 A todo el pueblo que había quedado de los heteos, amorreos, ferezeos, heveos y jebuseos, que no eran de Israel,

All the people that were left of the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel,

8 c uyos descendientes habían quedado en la tierra después de ellos, a los cuales los hijos de Israel no exterminaron del todo, hizo Salomón tributarios hasta hoy.

their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel had not destroyed, upon them did Solomon impose tribute-service until this day.

9 P ero no empleó Salomón a ninguno de los hijos de Israel en su obra; porque eran hombres de guerra, oficiales, capitanes y comandantes de sus carros, y de su caballería.

But of the children of Israel, of them did Solomon make no bondmen for his work; but they were men of war, and chief of his captains, and captains of his chariots and his horsemen.

10 Y tenía Salomón doscientos cincuenta gobernadores principales, los cuales mandaban sobre aquella gente.

And these were the chief of king Solomon's superintendents, two hundred and fifty, that ruled over the people.

11 T rasladó Salomón a la hija del faraón, de la Ciudad de David a la casa que él había edificado para ella; porque dijo: «Mi mujer no habitará en la casa de David, rey de Israel, porque aquellas habitaciones donde ha entrado el Arca de Jehová, son sagradas.»

And Solomon brought up the daughter of Pharaoh out of the city of David to the house which he had built for her; for he said, My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the are holy to which the ark of Jehovah has come.

12 E ntonces ofreció Salomón holocaustos a Jehová sobre el altar de Jehová que él había edificado delante del pórtico;

Then Solomon offered up burnt-offerings to Jehovah on the altar of Jehovah, which he had built before the porch;

13 l os ofreció según el rito de cada día, conforme al mandamiento de Moisés, en los sábados, las nuevas lunas, y en las fiestas solemnes, tres veces al año, esto es, en la fiesta de los Panes sin levadura, en la fiesta de las Semanas y en la fiesta de los Tabernáculos.

even as the duty of every day required, offering according to the commandment of Moses, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and at the set feasts, three times in the year,—at the feast of unleavened bread, and at the feast of weeks, and at the feast of tabernacles.

14 T ambién estableció los turnos de los sacerdotes en sus oficios, conforme a lo ordenado por David, su padre, a los levitas en sus cargos, para que alabaran y ministraran delante de los sacerdotes, según el rito de cada día; asimismo los porteros, según su orden, en cada puerta; porque así lo había mandado David, hombre de Dios.

And he appointed, according to the ordinance of David his father, the divisions of the priests for their service, and the Levites for their charges, to praise and serve before the priests, as the duty of every day required; and the doorkeepers by their divisions at every gate: for such was the commandment of David the man of God;

15 N o se apartaron del mandamiento del rey en cuanto a los sacerdotes, los levitas, los tesoros, y todo otro negocio;

and they did not depart from the commandment of the king to the priests and the Levites concerning any matter, nor concerning the treasures.

16 p orque toda la obra de Salomón estaba preparada desde el día en que se pusieron los cimientos de la casa de Jehová hasta que fue terminada, hasta que la casa de Jehová fue acabada totalmente.

And all the work of Solomon was prepared, to the day of the foundation of the house of Jehovah and to its completion. the house of Jehovah was finished.

17 E ntonces Salomón fue a Ezión-geber y a Elot, a la costa del mar en la tierra de Edom.

Then went Solomon to Ezion-geber, and to Eloth, on the seashore in the land of Edom.

18 P orque Hiram le había enviado, por medio de sus siervos, naves y marineros diestros en el mar, los cuales fueron con los siervos de Salomón a Ofir, y tomaron de allá cuatrocientos cincuenta talentos de oro, y los trajeron al rey Salomón.

And Huram sent him by his servants ships, and servants that had knowledge of the sea; and they went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and fetched thence four hundred and fifty talents of gold, and brought them to king Solomon.
