1 M e dijo: «Hijo de hombre, come lo que tienes ante ti; come este rollo, y ve y habla a la casa de Israel.»

And he said unto me, Son of man, eat what thou findest; eat this roll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.

2 A brí mi boca y me hizo comer aquel rollo.

So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.

3 M e dijo: «Hijo de hombre, alimenta tu vientre y llena tus entrañas de este rollo que yo te doy.» Lo comí, y fue en mi boca dulce como la miel.

And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll which I give thee. And I ate, and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

4 L uego me dijo: «Hijo de hombre, ve y entra a la casa de Israel y háblales con mis palabras.

And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

5 P orque no eres enviado a un pueblo de habla misteriosa ni de lengua difícil, sino a la casa de Israel;

For thou art not sent to a people of strange language, and of difficult speech, to the house of Israel;

6 n o a muchos pueblos de habla misteriosa ni de lengua difícil, cuyas palabras no entiendas; pero si a ellos te enviara, ellos te escucharían.

not to many peoples of strange language and of difficult speech, whose words thou canst not understand: had I sent thee to them, would they not hearken unto thee?

7 P ero la casa de Israel no te querrá oír, porque no me quiere oír a mí; porque toda la casa de Israel es dura de frente y obstinada de corazón.

But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee, for none of them will hearken unto me. For all the house of Israel are hard of forehead and stiff of heart.

8 Y o he hecho tu rostro fuerte contra los rostros de ellos, y tu frente fuerte contra sus frentes.

Behold, I have made thy face hard against their faces, and thy forehead hard against their foreheads.

9 C omo el diamante, más fuerte que el pedernal he hecho tu frente; no los temas ni tengas miedo delante de ellos, porque son una casa rebelde.»

As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead. Fear them not, neither be dismayed at them, for they are a rebellious house.

10 M e dijo: «Hijo de hombre, toma en tu corazón todas mis palabras que yo te diré, y pon mucha atención.

And he said unto me, Son of man, all my words which I shall speak unto thee, receive in thy heart, and hear with thine ears;

11 L uego ve y entra adonde están los cautivos, los hijos de tu pueblo. Háblales y diles: “Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor”, ya sea que escuchen o que dejen de escuchar.»

and go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah,—whether they will hear or whether they will forbear.

12 E l espíritu me elevó, y oí detrás de mí una voz de gran estruendo, que decía: «¡Bendita sea la gloria de Jehová desde su lugar!»

And the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great rushing, Blessed be the glory of Jehovah from his place!

13 O í también el ruido de las alas de los seres vivientes al juntarse la una con la otra, y el ruido de las ruedas delante de ellos, y el ruido de gran estruendo.

—and the sound of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the sound of the wheels beside them, and the sound of a great rushing.

14 E l espíritu, pues, me elevó y me llevó. Yo fui, pero con amargura y lleno de indignación, mientras la mano de Jehová era fuerte sobre mí.

And the Spirit lifted me up, and took me away; and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit, and the hand of Jehovah was strong upon me.

15 Y vine a los cautivos en Tel-abib, que moraban junto al río Quebar, y me senté junto con ellos. Allí, durante siete días, permanecí atónito entre ellos. El atalaya de Israel

And I came to them of the captivity at Tel-abib, that dwelt by the river Chebar, and I sat where they sat; and I sat there astonied among them seven days.

16 A conteció que al cabo de los siete días vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

17 « Hijo de hombre, yo te he puesto por atalaya a la casa de Israel; oirás, pues, mi palabra, y los amonestarás de mi parte.

Son of man, I have appointed thee a watchman unto the house of Israel, and thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and give them warning from me.

18 C uando yo diga al impío: “De cierto morirás”, si tú no lo amonestas ni le hablas, para que el impío sea advertido de su mal camino a fin de que viva, el impío morirá por su maldad, pero su sangre demandaré de tu mano.

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt certainly die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, that he may live: the same wicked shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

19 P ero si tú amonestas al impío, y él no se convierte de su impiedad y de su mal camino, él morirá por su maldad, pero tú habrás librado tu vida.

But if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20 S i el justo se aparta de su justicia y comete maldad, y yo pongo tropiezo delante de él, él morirá, porque tú no lo amonestaste; en su pecado morirá, y sus justicias que había hecho no serán tenidas en cuenta; pero su sangre demandaré de tu mano.

And when a righteous doth turn from his righteousness, and do what is wrong, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die; because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous acts which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thy hand.

21 P ero si amonestas al justo para que no peque, y no peca, de cierto vivirá, porque fue amonestado; y tú habrás librado tu vida.» El profeta mudo

And if thou warn the righteous, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall certainly live, for he hath taken warning; and thou hast delivered thy soul.

22 V ino allí la mano de Jehová sobre mí, y me dijo: «Levántate y sal al campo, y allí hablaré contigo.»

And the hand of Jehovah was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the valley, and there I will talk with thee.

23 M e levanté y salí al campo; y allí estaba la gloria de Jehová, como la gloria que había visto junto al río Quebar; y me postré sobre mi rostro.

And I arose, and went forth into the valley, and behold, the glory of Jehovah stood there, like the glory which I saw by the river Chebar; and I fell on my face.

24 E ntonces entró el espíritu en mí, me afirmó sobre mis pies, me habló y me dijo: «Entra y enciérrate dentro de tu casa.

And the Spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet; and he spoke with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thy house.

25 E n cuanto a ti, hijo de hombre, he aquí que pondrán cuerdas sobre ti, y con ellas te atarán y no podrás salir para estar entre ellos.

And thou, son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee therewith, and thou shalt not go out among them.

26 H aré que se te pegue la lengua al paladar, y estarás mudo, y no serás para ellos un hombre que reprende, porque son casa rebelde.

And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover; for they are a rebellious house.

27 P ero cuando yo te haya hablado, abriré tu boca y les dirás: “Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: El que escucha, que escuche; y el que no quiera escuchar, que no escuche, porque casa rebelde son.”

And when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house.
