1 J usto eres tú, Jehová, para que yo dispute contigo; sin embargo, alegaré mi causa ante ti. ¿Por qué es prosperado el camino de los malvados y les va bien a todos los que se portan deslealmente?

Righteous art thou, Jehovah, when I plead with thee; yet will I speak with thee of judgments. Wherefore doth the way of the wicked prosper? are all they at ease that deal very treacherously?

2 L os plantaste, y echaron raíces; crecieron, y dieron fruto; cercano estás tú en sus bocas, pero lejos de sus corazones.

Thou hast planted them, they also have taken root: they advance, yea, they bring forth fruit: thou art near in their mouth, but far from their reins.

3 P ero tú, Jehová, me conoces; me viste y has probado mi corazón para contigo. ¡Arrebátalos como a ovejas para el degolladero, y señálalos para el día de la matanza!

But thou, Jehovah, knowest me; thou hast seen me, and proved my heart toward thee. Drag them out like sheep for the slaughter, and set them apart for the day of slaughter.

4 ¿ Hasta cuándo estará desierta la tierra y marchita la hierba de todo el campo? Por la maldad de los que en ella moran han perecido los ganados y las aves, pues dijeron: «No verá Dios nuestro fin.»

How long shall the land mourn, and the herbs of all the fields wither? Because of the wickedness of them that dwell therein, the beasts and the birds perish; for they say, He will not see our end.

5 « Si corriste con los de a pie y te cansaron, ¿cómo contenderás con los caballos? Y si en la tierra de paz no estabas seguro, ¿cómo harás en la espesura del Jordán?

If thou hast run with footmen, and they have wearied thee, how wilt thou then contend with horses? And if in a land of peace thou thinkest thyself in security, how wilt thou then do in the swelling of the Jordan?

6 A un tus hermanos y la casa de tu padre, aun ellos se levantaron contra ti, aun ellos gritaron en pos de ti. No confíes en ellos, aunque te digan cosas buenas.

For even thy brethren, and the house of thy father, even they have dealt treacherously with thee, even they have cried aloud after thee. Believe them not, though they speak good unto thee.

7 » He abandonado mi casa, he desamparado mi heredad, he entregado en mano de sus enemigos lo que amaba mi alma.

I have forsaken my house, I have cast off my heritage, I have given the beloved of my soul into the hand of her enemies.

8 M i heredad fue para mí como un león en la selva; contra mí lanzó su rugido, y por eso la aborrecí.

My heritage is become unto me as a lion in the forest; it hath raised its voice against me: therefore have I hated it.

9 E s mi heredad para mí como un ave de rapiña de muchos colores. ¿No están contra ella aves de rapiña rodeándola? ¡Venid, reuníos, vosotras todas las fieras del campo, venid a devorarla!

My heritage is unto me a speckled bird of prey; the birds of prey round about are against her. Go, assemble all the beasts of the field, bring them to devour.

10 M uchos pastores han destruido mi viña, han pisoteado mi heredad, han convertido en desierto y soledad mi heredad preciosa.

Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard, they have trodden my portion under foot, they have made my pleasant portion a desolate wilderness:

11 F ue convertida en asolamiento; desolada, lloró sobre mí. Toda la tierra quedó asolada, y no hubo nadie que reflexionara.

they have made it a desolation; desolate, it mourneth unto me: the whole land is made desolate, for no man layeth it to heart.

12 S obre todas las alturas del desierto vinieron destructores, porque la espada de Jehová devorará desde un extremo de la tierra hasta el otro; no habrá paz para nadie.

Spoilers are come upon all heights in the wilderness; for the sword of Jehovah devoureth from one end of the land even to the end of the land: no flesh hath peace.

13 S embraron trigo y cosecharon espinos; se esforzaron, mas nada aprovecharon. Se avergonzarán de sus frutos, a causa de la ardiente ira de Jehová.»

They have sown wheat, and they reap thorns; they have put themselves to pain, do not profit. Be ye therefore ashamed of your revenues, because of the fierce anger of Jehovah.

14 A sí ha dicho Jehová: «En cuanto a mis malos vecinos, que tocan la heredad que hice poseer a mi pueblo Israel, yo los arrancaré de su tierra, y arrancaré de en medio de ellos la casa de Judá.

Thus saith Jehovah against all mine evil neighbours, that touch the inheritance which I have caused my people Israel to inherit: Behold, I will pluck them up out of their land, and pluck out the house of Judah from among them.

15 P ero después que los haya arrancado, volveré y tendré misericordia de ellos, y los haré volver cada uno a su heredad y cada cual a su tierra.

And it shall come to pass, after I have plucked them up, I will return, and have compassion on them, and will bring them back, each one to his inheritance, and each one to his land.

16 Y si con diligencia aprenden los caminos de mi pueblo, para jurar en mi nombre, diciendo: “¡Vive Jehová!”, así como ellos enseñaron a mi pueblo a jurar por Baal, también ellos serán prosperados en medio de mi pueblo.

And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, Jehovah liveth—even as they taught my people to swear by Baal—they shall be built up in the midst of my people.

17 P ero si no escuchan, arrancaré esa nación, sacándola de raíz y destruyéndola», dice Jehová.

And if they will not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation, saith Jehovah.
