1 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying:

2 « Tú, hijo de hombre, entona una lamentación sobre Tiro.

And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre,

3 D irás a Tiro, que está asentada a las orillas del mar, la que trafica con los pueblos de muchas costas: “Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: »”Tiro, tú has dicho: ‘Yo soy de perfecta hermosura.’

and say unto Tyre: O thou that art situate at the entries of the sea, and traffickest with the peoples in many isles, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Thou, Tyre, hast said, I am perfect in beauty.

4 E n el corazón de los mares están tus confines; los que te edificaron perfeccionaron tu belleza.

Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.

5 D e cipreses del monte Senir te fabricaron todo el maderamen; tomaron un cedro del Líbano para hacerte el mástil.

They made all thy double boards of cypress-trees of Senir; they took cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.

6 D e encinas de Basán hicieron tus remos, y de las costas de Quitim tu cubierta de pino incrustada de marfil.

Of the oaks of Bashan did they make thine oars; they made thy benches of ivory, inlaid in box-wood, out of the isles of Chittim.

7 D e lino fino bordado de Egipto era tu vela, para que te sirviera de estandarte; y de azul y púrpura de las costas de Elisa era tu pabellón.

Byssus with broidered work from Egypt was thy sail, to serve thee for a banner; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.

8 L os moradores de Sidón y de Arvad fueron tus remeros; tus sabios, Tiro, estaban en ti, ellos fueron tus pilotos.

The inhabitants of Zidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, who were in thee, were thy pilots.

9 L os ancianos de Gebal y sus hábiles artífices calafateaban tus junturas; todas las naves del mar y sus remeros acudieron a ti para negociar, para participar de tus negocios.

The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee repairing thy leaks; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee, to barter with thee.

10 » ”Persas y los de Lud y Fut fueron en tu ejército tus hombres de guerra; escudos y yelmos colgaron en ti; ellos te dieron tu esplendor.

Persia and Lud and Phut were in thine army, thy men of war: they hanged shield and helmet in thee; they gave splendour to thee.

11 » ”Los hijos de Arvad con tu ejército estaban sobre tus muros y alrededor de ellos; y en tus torres había gamadeos, que colgaban sus escudos alrededor de tus muros; ellos perfeccionaban tu belleza.

The children of Arvad with thine army were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadim were on thy towers: they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they made thy beauty perfect.

12 » ”Tarsis comerciaba contigo por la abundancia de todas tus riquezas, con plata, hierro, estaño y plomo a cambio de tus mercaderías.

Tarshish dealt with thee by reason of the abundance of all substance; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they furnished thy markets.

13 J aván, Tubal y Mesec comerciaban también contigo, con hombres y con utensilios de bronce a cambio de tus mercaderías.

Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee the persons of men, and vessels of bronze.

14 L os de la casa de Togarma te daban caballos, corceles de guerra y mulos a cambio de tus mercancías.

They of the house of Togarmah furnished thy markets with horses, and horsemen, and mules.

15 L os hijos de Dedán traficaban contigo; muchas costas tomaban mercadería de tu mano; colmillos de marfil y ébano te dieron en pago.

The children of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand: they rendered in payment horns of ivory, and ebony.

16 P or la abundancia de tus productos, Edom traficaba contigo con perlas, púrpura, vestidos bordados, linos finos, corales y rubíes a cambio de tus mercaderías.

Syria dealt with thee for the multitude of thy handiworks: they traded in thy markets with carbuncles, purple, and broidered work, and fine linen, and corals, and rubies.

17 J udá y la tierra de Israel comerciaban contigo con trigos de Minit y Panag, miel, aceite y resina, a cambio de tus mercancías.

Judah and the land of Israel were thy traffickers: they bartered with thee wheat of Minnith, and sweet cakes, and honey, and oil, and balm.

18 D amasco comerciaba contigo por la gran abundancia de tus productos y de toda riqueza; con vino de Helbón y lana blanca negociaban.

Damascus dealt with thee because of the multitude of thy handiworks, by reason of the abundance of all substance, with wine of Helbon, and white wool.

19 A simismo Dan y el errante Javán, a cambio de tus mercaderías te dieron mercancías de hierro labrado, mirra destilada y caña aromática.

Vedan and Javan of Uzal traded in thy markets: wrought iron, cassia, and calamus were in thy traffic.

20 D edán comerciaba contigo con paños preciosos para monturas.

Dedan was thy trafficker in precious riding-cloths.

21 A rabia y todos los gobernantes de Cedar traficaban contigo con corderos, carneros y machos cabríos: con todo ello comerciaron contigo.

Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were the merchants of thy hand: in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these did they trade with thee.

22 L os mercaderes de Sabá y de Raama hicieron comercio contigo con lo principal de toda especiería y con toda piedra preciosa y oro, a cambio de tus mercaderías.

The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were thy traffickers: they furnished thy markets with all the choice spices, and with all precious stones and gold.

23 H arán, Cane, Edén y los mercaderes de Sabá, de Asiria y de Quilmad, traficaban contigo.

Haran, and Canneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheba, Asshur, and Chilmad traded with thee:

24 E stos mercaderes tuyos negociaban contigo en varias cosas: mantos de azul y bordados, cajas de ropas preciosas enlazadas con cordones, y madera de cedro.

these traded with thee in sumptuous clothes, in wrappings of blue and broidered work, and in chests full of variegated stuffs, bound with cords and made of cedar-wood, amongst thy merchandise.

25 » ”Las naves de Tarsis eran como tus caravanas que transportaban tus mercancías. »”Llegaste a ser opulenta, te multiplicaste en gran manera en medio de los mares.

The ships of Tarshish were thy caravans for thy traffic; and thou wast replenished, and highly honoured, in the heart of the seas.

26 E n aguas profundas te anclaron tus remeros; el viento del este te quebrantó en medio de los mares.

Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters; the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.

27 T us riquezas, tus mercaderías, tu tráfico, tus remeros, tus pilotos, tus calafateadores, los agentes de tus negocios, con todos los hombres de guerra que tú tienes y con toda la tripulación que se halla en medio de ti, caerán en medio de los mares el día de tu caída.

Thy substance, and thy markets, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, they that repair thy leaks, and they that barter with thee, and all thy men of war that are in thee, along with all thine assemblage which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy fall.

28 A l estrépito de las voces de tus marineros temblarán las costas.

The open places shall shake at the sound of the cry of thy pilots.

29 D escenderán de sus naves todos los que empuñan remo: los remeros y todos los pilotos del mar se quedarán en tierra.

And all that handle the oar, the mariners, all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships; they shall stand upon the land,

30 E llos harán oír su voz sobre ti. Gritarán amargamente, echarán polvo sobre sus cabezas y se revolcarán en ceniza.

and shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly; and they shall cast up dust upon their heads; they shall wallow themselves in ashes.

31 S e raparán por ti los cabellos, se ceñirán con ropa áspera y entonarán por ti lamentaciones amargas, con amargura del alma.

And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird themselves with sackcloth; and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter mourning.

32 E ntre gemidos entonarán por ti lamentaciones; harán lamentación por ti, diciendo: ‘¿Quién como Tiro, como la destruida en medio del mar?’

And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee, Who is like Tyre, like her that is destroyed in the midst of the sea?

33 C uando tus mercaderías salían de las naves, saciabas a muchos pueblos; a los reyes de la tierra enriqueciste con la gran abundancia de tus riquezas y mercancías.

When thy wares went forth over the seas, thou filledst many peoples; thou didst enrich the kings of the earth with the abundance of thy substance and of thy merchandise.

34 E n el tiempo en que seas quebrantada por el mar, en lo profundo de las aguas, tu comercio y toda tu tripulación caerán en medio de ti.

In the time thou art broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters, thy merchandise and all thine assemblage in the midst of thee have fallen.

35 T odos los moradores de las costas estarán atónitos por tu causa, y sus reyes temblarán de espanto; se demudará su rostro.

All the inhabitants of the isles are amazed at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid, countenance is troubled.

36 L os mercaderes en los pueblos silbarán contra ti; vendrás a ser objeto de espanto, y para siempre dejarás de ser.”»

The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; thou art become a terror, and thou shalt never be any more.
