1 E l año en que murió el rey Uzías vi yo al Señor sentado sobre un trono alto y sublime, y sus faldas llenaban el Templo.

In the year of the death of king Uzziah, I saw the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up; and his train filled the temple.

2 P or encima de él había serafines. Cada uno tenía seis alas: con dos cubrían sus rostros, con dos cubrían sus pies y con dos volaban.

Seraphim were standing above him: each had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he flew.

3 Y el uno al otro daba voces diciendo: «¡Santo, santo, santo, Jehová de los ejércitos! ¡Toda la tierra está llena de su gloria!»

And one called to the other and said, Holy, holy, holy is Jehovah of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!

4 L os quicios de las puertas se estremecieron con la voz del que clamaba, y la Casa se llenó de humo.

And the foundations of the thresholds shook at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 E ntonces dije: «¡Ay de mí que soy muerto!, porque siendo hombre inmundo de labios y habitando en medio de pueblo que tiene labios inmundos, han visto mis ojos al Rey, Jehová de los ejércitos.»

And I said, Woe unto me! for I am undone; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of hosts.

6 Y voló hacia mí uno de los serafines, trayendo en su mano un carbón encendido, tomado del altar con unas tenazas.

And one of the seraphim flew unto me, and he had in his hand a glowing coal, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;

7 T ocando con él sobre mi boca, dijo: —He aquí que esto tocó tus labios, y es quitada tu culpa y limpio tu pecado.

and he made it touch my mouth, and said, Behold, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin expiated.

8 D espués oí la voz del Señor, que decía: —¿A quién enviaré y quién irá por nosotros? Entonces respondí yo: —Heme aquí, envíame a mí.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? And I said, Here am I; send me.

9 Y dijo: —Anda, y dile a este pueblo: “Oíd bien, y no entendáis; ved por cierto, pero no comprendáis.”

And he said, Go; and thou shalt say unto this people, Hearing ye shall hear and shall not understand, and seeing ye shall see and shall not perceive.

10 E mbota el corazón de este pueblo, endurece sus oídos y ciega sus ojos, para que no vea con sus ojos ni oiga con sus oídos ni su corazón entienda, ni se convierta y haya para él sanidad.

Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and blind their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and healed.

11 Y o dije: —¿Hasta cuándo, Señor? Y respondió él: —Hasta que las ciudades estén asoladas y sin morador, no haya hombre en las casas, y la tierra esté hecha un desierto;

And I said, Lord, how long? And he said, Until the cities be wasted, without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land become an utter desolation,

12 h asta que Jehová haya echado lejos a los hombres y multiplicado los lugares abandonados en medio del país.

and Jehovah have removed men far away, and the solitude be great in the midst of the land.

13 Y si queda aún en ella la décima parte, ésta volverá a ser destruida; pero como el roble y la encina, que al ser cortados aún queda el tronco, así será el tronco, la simiente santa.

But a tenth part shall still be therein, and it shall return and be eaten; as the terebinth and as the oak whose trunk after the felling: the holy seed shall be the trunk thereof.
