1 P or tanto, que los hombres nos consideren como servidores de Cristo y administradores de los misterios de Dios.

Let a man so account of us as servants of Christ, and stewards of mysteries of God.

2 A hora bien, lo que se requiere de los administradores es que cada uno sea hallado fiel.

Here, further, it is sought in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

3 E n cuanto a mí, en muy poco tengo el ser juzgado por vosotros o por tribunal humano. ¡Ni aun yo mismo me juzgo!

But for me it is the very smallest matter that I be examined of you or of man's day. Nor do I even examine myself.

4 A unque de nada tengo mala conciencia, no por eso soy justificado; pero el que me juzga es el Señor.

For I am conscious of nothing in myself; but I am not justified by this: but he that examines me is the Lord.

5 A sí que no juzguéis nada antes de tiempo, hasta que venga el Señor, el cual aclarará también lo oculto de las tinieblas y manifestará las intenciones de los corazones. Entonces, cada uno recibirá su alabanza de Dios.

So that do not judge anything before time, until the Lord shall come, who shall also both bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and shall make manifest the counsels of hearts; and then shall each have praise from God.

6 P ero esto, hermanos, lo he presentado como ejemplo en mí y en Apolos por amor a vosotros, para que en nosotros aprendáis a no pensar más de lo que está escrito, no sea que por causa de uno os envanezcáis unos contra otros,

Now these things, brethren, I have transferred, in their application, to myself and Apollos, for your sakes, that ye may learn in us the not above what is written, that ye may not be puffed up one for one against another.

7 p orque ¿quién te hace superior? ¿Y qué tienes que no hayas recibido? Y si lo recibiste, ¿por qué te glorías como si no lo hubieras recibido?

For who makes thee to differ? and what hast thou which thou hast not received? but if also thou hast received, why boastest thou as not receiving?

8 Y a estáis saciados, ya sois ricos, sin nosotros reináis. ¡Y ojalá reinarais, para que nosotros reináramos también juntamente con vosotros!,

Already ye are filled; already ye have been enriched; ye have reigned without us; and I would that ye reigned, that we also might reign with you.

9 p orque, según pienso, Dios nos ha puesto a nosotros los apóstoles en el último lugar, como a sentenciados a muerte. ¡Hemos llegado a ser un espectáculo para el mundo, para los ángeles y para los hombres!

For I think that God has set us the apostles for the last, as appointed to death. For we have become a spectacle to the world, both to angels and men.

10 N osotros somos insensatos por causa de Cristo, y vosotros sois prudentes en Cristo; nosotros débiles, y vosotros fuertes; vosotros sois honorables, y nosotros despreciados.

We fools for Christ's sake, but ye prudent in Christ: we weak, but ye strong: ye glorious, but we in dishonour.

11 H asta el día de hoy padecemos hambre y tenemos sed, estamos desnudos, somos abofeteados y no tenemos lugar fijo donde vivir.

To the present hour we both hunger and thirst, and are in nakedness, and buffeted, and wander without a home,

12 N os fatigamos trabajando con nuestras propias manos; nos maldicen, y bendecimos; padecemos persecución, y la soportamos.

and labour, working with our own hands. Railed at, we bless; persecuted, we suffer;

13 N os difaman, y respondemos con bondad; hemos venido a ser hasta ahora como la escoria del mundo, el desecho de todos.

insulted, we entreat: we are become as offscouring of the world, refuse of all, until now.

14 N o escribo esto para avergonzaros, sino para amonestaros como a hijos míos amados.

Not chiding do I write these things to you, but as my beloved children I admonish.

15 A unque tengáis diez mil maestros en Cristo, no tendréis muchos padres, pues en Cristo Jesús yo os engendré por medio del evangelio.

For if ye should have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet not many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the glad tidings.

16 P or tanto, os ruego que me imitéis.

I entreat you therefore, be my imitators.

17 P or esto mismo os he enviado a Timoteo, que es mi hijo amado y fiel en el Señor, el cual os recordará mi proceder en Cristo, de la manera que enseño en todas partes y en todas las iglesias.

For this reason I have sent to you Timotheus, who is my beloved and faithful child in Lord, who shall put you in mind of my ways they in Christ, according as I teach everywhere in every assembly.

18 A lgunos están envanecidos, como si yo nunca hubiera de ir a vosotros.

But some have been puffed up, as if I were not coming to you;

19 P ero iré pronto a visitaros, si el Señor quiere, y conoceré, no las palabras, sino el poder de los que andan envanecidos,

but I will come quickly to you, if the Lord will; and I will know, not the word of those that are puffed up, but the power.

20 p ues el reino de Dios no consiste en palabras, sino en poder.

For the kingdom of God not in word, but in power.

21 ¿ Qué queréis? ¿Iré a vosotros con vara, o con amor y espíritu de mansedumbre?

What will ye? that I come to you with a rod; or in love, and a spirit of meekness?
