1 L legó palabra de Jehová a Jehú hijo de Hanani contra Baasa diciendo:

And the word of Jehovah came to Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha, saying,

2 « Yo te levanté del polvo y te puse como príncipe de mi pueblo Israel. Pero tú has andado en el camino de Jeroboam y has hecho pecar a mi pueblo Israel, provocándome a ira con tus pecados.

Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the dust, and made thee prince over my people Israel, and thou hast walked in the way of Jeroboam, and hast made my people Israel to sin, provoking me to anger with their sins;

3 P or eso yo barreré la posteridad de Baasa y de su casa, y voy a hacer con su casa como con la casa de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat.

behold, I will take away Baasha and his house, and will make thy house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

4 A l que de Baasa muera en la ciudad se lo comerán los perros; y al que muera en el campo se lo comerán las aves del cielo.»

Him that dieth of Baasha in the city shall the dogs eat, and him that dieth of his in the field shall the fowl of the heavens eat.

5 L os demás hechos de Baasa, las cosas que hizo, y su poderío, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

And the rest of the acts of Baasha, and what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6 D urmió Baasa con sus padres y fue sepultado en Tirsa; y reinó en su lugar su hijo Ela.

And Baasha slept with his fathers, and was buried in Tirzah; and Elah his son reigned in his stead.

7 L a palabra de Jehová por boca del profeta Jehú hijo de Hanani fue contra Baasa y también contra su casa, con motivo de todo lo malo que hizo ante los ojos de Jehová, por provocarlo a ira con las obras de sus manos, que llegaron a ser como las de la casa de Jeroboam, y por haberla exterminado. Reinados de Ela y de Zimri

And also through the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani the word of Jehovah came against Baasha, and against his house, even for all the evil that he did in the sight of Jehovah, provoking him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam; and because he had smitten him.

8 E n el año veintiséis de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Ela hijo de Baasa sobre Israel en Tirsa, y reinó dos años.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha began to reign over Israel in Tirzah for two years.

9 P ero conspiró contra él su siervo Zimri, comandante de la mitad de los carros. Estaba Ela en Tirsa, embriagado y bebiendo en casa de Arsa, su mayordomo en Tirsa,

And his servant Zimri, captain of half chariots, conspired against him; and he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was the steward of his house in Tirzah;

10 c uando llegó Zimri y lo hirió de muerte; y reinó en lugar suyo. Era el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá.

and Zimri went in and smote him, and killed him, in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and he reigned in his stead.

11 T an pronto estuvo sentado en el trono y comenzó a reinar, mató a toda la casa de Baasa, sin dejar en ella ningún hombre, ni parientes ni amigos.

And it came to pass when he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he slew all the house of Baasha: he left him not a male, neither of his kinsmen nor of his friends.

12 A sí exterminó Zimri a toda la casa de Baasa, conforme a la palabra que Jehová había proferido contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú,

And Zimri destroyed all the house of Baasha, according to the word of Jehovah, which he spoke against Baasha through Jehu the prophet,

13 p or todos los pecados cometidos por Baasa, los pecados de Ela, su hijo, y los que hicieron cometer a Israel, provocando con sus vanidades el enojo de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

for all the sins of Baasha, and the sins of Elah his son, which they sinned and wherewith they made Israel to sin, provoking Jehovah the God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

14 L os demás hechos de Ela, y todo lo que hizo, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

And the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

15 E n el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Zimri; y reinó siete días en Tirsa. El pueblo había acampado contra Gibetón, ciudad de los filisteos.

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri reigned seven days in Tirzah. Now the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which to the Philistines.

16 Y el pueblo que estaba en el campamento oyó decir: «Zimri ha conspirado y ha dado muerte al rey.» Entonces todo Israel proclamó aquel mismo día rey de Israel, en el campo de batalla, a Omri, general del ejército.

And the people that were encamped heard say, Zimri has conspired, and has also smitten the king; and all Israel made Omri, the captain of the host, king over Israel that day in the camp.

17 O mri subió de Gibetón junto con todo Israel y sitiaron a Tirsa.

And Omri went up from Gibbethon, and all Israel with him, and they besieged Tirzah.

18 A l ver Zimri tomada la ciudad, se metió en el palacio de la casa real y prendió fuego a la casa consigo adentro. Así murió,

And it came to pass when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the citadel of the king's house, and burned the king's house over him with fire;

19 p or los pecados que había cometido, haciendo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová y andando en los caminos de Jeroboam, y en el pecado que éste cometió al hacer pecar a Israel.

and he died for his sins which he sinned in doing evil in the sight of Jehovah, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he did, making Israel to sin.

20 E l resto de los hechos de Zimri y de su conspiración, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel? Reinado de Omri

And the rest of the acts of Zimri, and his conspiracy which he wrought, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

21 E ntonces el pueblo de Israel se dividió en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo seguía a Tibni hijo de Ginat para hacerlo rey, y la otra mitad seguía a Omri.

Then were the people of Israel divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king; and half followed Omri.

22 P ero el pueblo que seguía a Omri pudo más que el que seguía a Tibni hijo de Ginat. Tibni murió y Omri se convirtió en rey.

But the people that followed Omri overcame the people that followed Tibni the son of Ginath; and Tibni died, and Omri reigned.

23 E n el año treinta y uno de Asa, rey de Judá, comenzó a reinar Omri sobre Israel, y reinó doce años; en Tirsa reinó seis años.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri began to reign over Israel,—twelve years; he reigned six years in Tirzah.

24 O mri compró a Semer el monte de Samaria por dos talentos de plata, edificó en el monte y llamó a la ciudad que había edificado Samaria, por el nombre de Semer, que fue dueño de aquel monte.

And he bought the hill Samaria of Shemer for two talents of silver; and built on the hill, and called the name of the city that he built, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill, Samaria.

25 O mri hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová; lo hizo peor que todos los que habían reinado antes de él,

And Omri wrought evil in the sight of Jehovah, and did worse than all that were before him.

26 p ues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, y en el pecado que aquél hizo cometer a Israel, al provocar con sus ídolos la ira de Jehová, Dios de Israel.

And he walked in all the way of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sins wherewith he made Israel to sin, provoking Jehovah the God of Israel to anger with their vanities.

27 L os demás hechos de Omri, todo lo que hizo, y las acciones valientes que ejecutó, ¿no está todo escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Israel?

And the rest of the acts of Omri, what he did, and his might which he shewed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

28 O mri durmió con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaria. En su lugar reinó Acab, su hijo. Reinado de Acab

And Omri slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria; and Ahab his son reigned in his stead.

29 C omenzó a reinar Acab hijo de Omri sobre Israel el año treinta y ocho de Asa, rey de Judá,

And Ahab the son of Omri began to reign over Israel in the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

30 y reinó sobre Israel en Samaria veintidós años. Pero Acab hijo de Omri hizo lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, más que todos los que reinaron antes de él,

And Ahab the son of Omri wrought evil in the sight of Jehovah more than all that were before him.

31 p ues no le bastó andar en los pecados de Jeroboam hijo de Nabat, sino que tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et-baal, rey de los sidonios, y fue, sirvió a Baal y lo adoró.

And it came to pass, as if it was a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal king of the Zidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshipped him.

32 C onstruyó además un altar a Baal en el templo que él le edificó en Samaria.

And he reared up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he built in Samaria.

33 T ambién hizo Acab una imagen de Asera, para provocar así la ira de Jehová, Dios de Israel, más que todos los reyes de Israel que reinaron antes de él.

And Ahab made the Asherah; and Ahab did more to provoke Jehovah the God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him.

34 E n tiempos de Acab, Hiel, el de Bet-el, reedificó a Jericó. Al precio de la vida de Abiram, su primogénito, echó el cimiento, y al precio de la vida de Segub, su hijo menor, puso sus puertas, conforme a la palabra que Jehová le había anunciado por medio de Josué hijo de Nun.

In his days Hiel the Bethelite built Jericho; he laid its foundation in Abiram his firstborn, and set up its gates in Segub his youngest, according to the word of Jehovah which he spoke through Joshua the son of Nun.
