1 ¿ Por qué te jactas del mal, oh poderoso? La misericordia de Dios es continua.

Why boastest thou thyself in evil, thou mighty man? The loving-kindness of God continually.

2 T u lengua maquina destrucción como afilada navaja, oh artífice de engaño.

Thy tongue deviseth mischievous things, like a sharp razor, practising deceit.

3 A mas el mal más que el bien, la mentira más que decir lo que es justo. (Selah )

Thou hast loved evil rather than good, lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

4 A mas toda palabra destructora, oh lengua de engaño.

Thou hast loved all devouring words, O deceitful tongue!

5 P ero Dios te destruirá para siempre; te arrebatará y te arrancará de tu tienda, y te desarraigará de la tierra de los vivientes. (Selah)

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever; he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of tent, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

6 L os justos verán esto y temerán, y se reirán de él, diciendo:

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him,

7 H e aquí el hombre que no quiso hacer de Dios su refugio, sino que confió en la abundancia de sus riquezas y se hizo fuerte en sus malos deseos.

Behold the man that made not God his strength, but put confidence in the abundance of his riches, strengthened himself in his avarice.

8 P ero yo soy como olivo verde en la casa de Dios; en la misericordia de Dios confío eternamente y para siempre.

But as for me, I am like a green olive-tree in the house of God: I will confide in the loving-kindness of God for ever and ever.

9 T e alabaré para siempre por lo que has hecho, y esperaré en tu nombre, porque es bueno delante de tus santos.

I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done; and I will wait on thy name, before thy godly ones, for it is good.
