1 S ucedió después de la muerte de Moisés, siervo del Señor, que el Señor habló a Josué, hijo de Nun, y ayudante de Moisés, diciendo:

And it came to pass after the death of Moses the servant of Jehovah, that Jehovah spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' attendant, saying,

2 M i siervo Moisés ha muerto; ahora pues, levántate, cruza este Jordán, tú y todo este pueblo, a la tierra que yo les doy a los hijos de Israel.

Moses my servant is dead; and now, rise up, go over this Jordan, thou and all this people, into the land which I give unto them, to the children of Israel.

3 T odo lugar que pise la planta de vuestro pie os he dado, tal como dije a Moisés.

Every place whereon the sole of your foot shall tread have I given to you, as I said unto Moses.

4 D esde el desierto y este Líbano hasta el gran río, el río Eufrates, toda la tierra de los hititas hasta el mar Grande que está hacia la puesta del sol, será vuestro territorio.

From the wilderness and this Lebanon to the great river, the river Euphrates, the whole land of the Hittites, to the great sea, toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.

5 N adie te podrá hacer frente en todos los días de tu vida. Así como estuve con Moisés, estaré contigo; no te dejaré ni te abandonaré.

None shall be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so will I be with thee; I will not leave thee, neither will I forsake thee.

6 S é fuerte y valiente, porque tú darás a este pueblo posesión de la tierra que juré a sus padres que les daría.

Be strong and courageous, for thou shalt cause this people to inherit the land which I have sworn unto their fathers to give them.

7 S olamente sé fuerte y muy valiente; cuídate de cumplir toda la ley que Moisés mi siervo te mandó; no te desvíes de ella ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda, para que tengas éxito dondequiera que vayas.

Only be strong and very courageous, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded thee. Turn not from it to the right or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.

8 E ste libro de la ley no se apartará de tu boca, sino que meditarás en él día y noche, para que cuides de hacer todo lo que en él está escrito; porque entonces harás prosperar tu camino y tendrás éxito.

This book of the law shall not depart from thy mouth; and thou shalt meditate upon it day and night, that thou mayest take heed to do according to all that is written therein; for then shalt thou have good success in thy ways, and then shalt thou prosper.

9 ¿ No te lo he ordenado yo? ¡Sé fuerte y valiente! No temas ni te acobardes, porque el Señor tu Dios estará contigo dondequiera que vayas. Preparativos para cruzar el Jordán

Have I not commanded thee: Be strong and courageous? Be not afraid, neither be dismayed; for Jehovah thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

10 E ntonces Josué dio órdenes a los oficiales del pueblo, diciendo:

And Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

11 P asad por medio del campamento y ordenad al pueblo, diciendo: “Preparad provisiones para vosotros, porque dentro de tres días cruzaréis el Jordán para entrar a poseer la tierra que el Señor vuestro Dios os da en posesión.”

Go through the midst of the camp, and command the people, saying, Prepare yourselves victuals, for in three days ye shall pass over this Jordan, that ye may enter in to take possession of the land which Jehovah your God giveth you to possess it.

12 Y a los rubenitas, a los gaditas y a la media tribu de Manasés, Josué dijo:

And to the Reubenites and to the Gadites and to half the tribe of Manasseh spoke Joshua, saying,

13 R ecordad la palabra que Moisés, siervo del Señor, os dio, diciendo: “El Señor vuestro Dios os da reposo y os dará esta tierra.”

Remember the word that Moses the servant of Jehovah commanded you, saying, Jehovah your God has given you rest and has given you this land.

14 V uestras mujeres, vuestros pequeños y vuestro ganado permanecerán en la tierra que Moisés os dio al otro lado del Jordán; pero vosotros, todos los valientes guerreros, pasaréis en orden de batalla delante de vuestros hermanos, y los ayudaréis,

Your wives, your little ones, and your cattle shall abide in the land that Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan, but ye, all the valiant men, shall go over in array before your brethren and help them,

15 h asta que el Señor dé reposo a vuestros hermanos como a vosotros, y ellos también posean la tierra que el Señor vuestro Dios les da. Entonces volveréis a vuestra tierra y poseeréis lo que Moisés, siervo del Señor, os dio al otro lado del Jordán hacia el oriente.

until Jehovah give your brethren rest as to you, and they also take possession of the land which Jehovah your God giveth them; then shall ye return into the land of your possession and possess it, which Moses the servant of Jehovah gave you on this side of the Jordan toward the sun-rising.

16 Y ellos respondieron a Josué, diciendo: Haremos todo lo que nos has mandado, y adondequiera que nos envíes, iremos.

And they answered Joshua, saying, All that thou hast commanded us will we do, and whither thou shalt send us will we go.

17 C omo obedecimos en todo a Moisés, así te obedeceremos a ti, con tal que el Señor tu Dios esté contigo como estuvo con Moisés.

According as we hearkened to Moses in all things, so will we hearken to thee; only may Jehovah thy God be with thee as he was with Moses.

18 C ualquiera que se rebele contra tu mandato y no obedezca tus palabras en todo lo que le mandes, se le dará muerte; solamente sé fuerte y valiente.

Every one that is rebellious against thy commandment and hearkeneth not to thy words in everything that thou commandest us, shall be put to death. Only be strong and courageous.
