1 C uando murió Aod, los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos del Señor.

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Jehovah; now Ehud was dead.

2 Y el Señor los vendió en mano de Jabín, rey de Canaán, que reinaba en Hazor. El comandante de su ejército era Sísara, que vivía en Haroset-goim.

And Jehovah sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who reigned in Hazor; and the captain of his army was Sisera, who dwelt in Harosheth-Goim.

3 Y los hijos de Israel clamaron al Señor, porque aquél tenía novecientos carros de hierro y había oprimido duramente a los hijos de Israel por veinte años.

And the children of Israel cried to Jehovah; for he had nine hundred chariots of iron, and he mightily oppressed the children of Israel twenty years.

4 D ébora, profetisa, mujer de Lapidot, juzgaba a Israel en aquel tiempo;

And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, judged Israel at that time.

5 y se sentaba debajo de la palmera de Débora entre Ramá y Betel, en la región montañosa de Efraín; y los hijos de Israel subían a ella a pedir juicio.

And she dwelt under the palm-tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in mount Ephraim; and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.

6 Y ella mandó llamar a Barac, hijo de Abinoam, de Cedes de Neftalí, y le dijo: Esto ha ordenado el Señor, Dios de Israel: “Ve, marcha al monte Tabor y lleva contigo a diez mil hombres de los hijos de Neftalí y de los hijos de Zabulón.

And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-Naphtali, and said to him, Hath not Jehovah the God of Israel commanded? Go and draw towards mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun,

7 “ Y yo atraeré hacia ti a Sísara, comandante del ejército de Jabín, con sus carros y sus muchas tropas al torrente Cisón, y lo entregaré en tus manos.”

and I will draw unto thee, to the torrent Kishon, Sisera, the captain of Jabin's army, and his chariots and his multitude, and I will give him into thy hand.

8 L e respondió Barac: Si tú vas conmigo, yo iré; pero si no vas conmigo, no iré.

And Barak said to her, If thou goest with me, then I will go, but if thou goest not with me, I will not go.

9 Y ella dijo: Ciertamente iré contigo; sin embargo, el honor no será tuyo en la jornada que vas a emprender, porque el Señor venderá a Sísara en manos de una mujer. Entonces Débora se levantó y fue con Barac a Cedes.

And she said, I will by all means go with thee, only that it will not be to thine honour upon the way which thou goest, for Jehovah will sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.

10 Y Barac convocó a Zabulón y a Neftalí en Cedes, y subieron con él diez mil hombres; Débora también subió con él.

And Barak called together Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and there went up at his feet ten thousand men; and Deborah went up with him.

11 Y Heber ceneo, se había separado de los ceneos, de los hijos de Hobab, suegro de Moisés, y había plantado su tienda cerca de la encina en Zaanaim, que está junto a Cedes. Derrota y muerte de Sísara

(Now Heber the Kenite had severed himself from the Kenites, from the children of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far as the oak of Zaannaim, which is by Kedesh.)

12 A visaron a Sísara que Barac, hijo de Abinoam, había subido al monte Tabor.

And they told Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam had gone up to mount Tabor.

13 Y juntó Sísara todos sus carros, novecientos carros de hierro, y a todo el pueblo que estaba con él, desde Haroset-goim hasta el torrente Cisón.

Then Sisera gathered together all his chariots, nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth-Goim to the torrent Kishon.

14 E ntonces Débora dijo a Barac: ¡Levántate!, porque este es el día en que el Señor ha entregado a Sísara en tus manos; he aquí, el Señor ha salido delante de ti. Bajó, pues, Barac del monte Tabor seguido de diez mil hombres.

And Deborah said to Barak, Up; for this is the day in which Jehovah hath given Sisera into thy hand! Is not Jehovah gone out before thee? And Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.

15 Y el Señor derrotó a Sísara, con todos sus carros y todo su ejército, a filo de espada delante de Barac; y Sísara bajó de su carro, y huyó a pie.

And Jehovah discomfited Sisera, and all the chariots, and all the army, with the edge of the sword before Barak; and Sisera got down from chariot, and fled on foot.

16 M as Barac persiguió los carros y el ejército hasta Haroset-goim, y todo el ejército de Sísara cayó a filo de espada; no quedó ni uno.

And Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the army, to Harosheth-Goim; and all the army of Sisera fell by the edge of the sword; not one was left.

17 P ero Sísara huyó a pie a la tienda de Jael, mujer de Heber ceneo; porque había paz entre Jabín, rey de Hazor, y la casa de Heber ceneo.

And Sisera fled on foot to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite; for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.

18 Y Jael salió al encuentro de Sísara, y le dijo: Ven, señor mío, ven a mí; no temas. Y él fue hacia ella a la tienda, y ella lo cubrió con una manta.

And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said to him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And he turned in to her, into the tent, and she covered him with the quilt.

19 Y él le dijo: Te ruego que me des de beber un poco de agua, porque tengo sed. Y ella abrió un odre de leche y le dio de beber; entonces lo cubrió.

And he said to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink, for I am thirsty. And she opened the flask of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.

20 E ntonces él le dijo: Ponte a la entrada de la tienda, y si alguien viene, y te pregunta, y te dice: “¿Hay alguien aquí?”, tú responderás: “No.”

And he said to her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be if any one come and inquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.

21 P ero Jael, mujer de Heber, tomó una estaca de la tienda y tomando en la mano un martillo, se le acercó silenciosamente y le clavó la estaca en las sienes, la cual penetró en la tierra, pues él estaba profundamente dormido y agotado, y murió.

And Jael Heber's wife took a tent-pin, and took the hammer in her hand, and went softly to him, and smote the pin into his temples, and it penetrated into the ground; for he had fallen into a deep sleep and was faint; and he died.

22 Y he aquí, cuando Barac perseguía a Sísara, Jael salió a su encuentro, y le dijo: Ven, y te mostraré al hombre que buscas. Y él entró con ella, y he aquí que Sísara yacía muerto con la estaca en la sien.

And behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael went out to meet him, and said to him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And he went into her, and behold, Sisera lay dead, and the pin was in his temples.

23 A sí sometió Dios en aquel día a Jabín, rey de Canaán, delante de los hijos de Israel.

So God subdued on that day Jabin king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

24 Y la mano de los hijos de Israel se hizo más y más dura sobre Jabín, rey de Canaán, hasta que lo destruyeron.

And the hand of the children of Israel ever advanced, and prevailed against Jabin king of Canaan, until they had cut off Jabin king of Canaan.
