1 E ntonces Salomón reunió a los ancianos de Israel, a todos los jefes de las tribus y a los principales de las casas paternas de los hijos de Israel ante él en Jerusalén, para hacer subir el arca del pacto del Señor de la ciudad de David, la cual es Sion.

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of the city of David, which is Zion.

2 Y se reunieron ante el rey Salomón todos los hombres de Israel en la fiesta, en el mes de Etanim, que es el mes séptimo.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves to king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, that is, the seventh month.

3 C uando llegaron todos los ancianos de Israel, los sacerdotes alzaron el arca.

And all the elders of Israel came; and the priests took up the ark.

4 S ubieron el arca del Señor, la tienda de reunión y todos los utensilios sagrados que estaban en la tienda; los sacerdotes y los levitas los subieron.

And they brought up the ark of Jehovah, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the tent: the priests and the Levites brought them up.

5 Y el rey Salomón y toda la congregación de Israel que estaba reunida ante él, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando tantas ovejas y bueyes que no se podían contar ni numerar.

And king Solomon, and all the assembly of Israel that were assembled to him, with him before the ark, sacrificed sheep and oxen, which could not be counted nor numbered for multitude.

6 E ntonces los sacerdotes trajeron el arca del pacto del Señor a su lugar, al santuario interior de la casa, al lugar santísimo, bajo las alas de los querubines.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Jehovah to its place, into the oracle of the house, into the most holy place, under the wings of the cherubim;

7 P orque los querubines extendían las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y los querubines cubrían el arca y sus barras por encima.

for the cherubim stretched forth wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and its staves above.

8 P ero las barras eran tan largas que los extremos de las barras se podían ver desde el lugar santo, que estaba delante del santuario interior, mas no se podían ver desde afuera; y allí están hasta hoy.

And the staves were long, so that the ends of the staves were seen from the holy place before the oracle, but they were not seen without. And there they are to this day.

9 E n el arca no había más que las dos tablas de piedra que Moisés puso allí en Horeb, donde el Señor hizo pacto con los hijos de Israel cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moses placed there at Horeb, when Jehovah made with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Y sucedió que cuando los sacerdotes salieron del lugar santo, la nube llenó la casa del Señor

And it came to pass when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of Jehovah,

11 y los sacerdotes no pudieron quedarse a ministrar a causa de la nube, porque la gloria del Señor llenaba la casa del Señor.

and the priests could not stand to do their service because of the cloud; for the glory of Jehovah had filled the house of Jehovah.

12 E ntonces Salomón dijo: El Señor ha dicho que El moraría en la densa nube.

Then said Solomon: Jehovah said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

13 C iertamente yo te he edificado una casa majestuosa, un lugar para tu morada para siempre.

I have indeed built a house of habitation for thee, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

14 D espués el rey se volvió y bendijo a toda la asamblea de Israel, mientras toda la asamblea de Israel estaba de pie,

And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel; and the whole congregation of Israel stood.

15 y dijo: Bendito sea el Señor, Dios de Israel, que habló por su boca a mi padre David y por su mano lo ha cumplido, cuando dijo:

And he said: Blessed be Jehovah the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

16 “ Desde el día en que saqué a mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no escogí ninguna ciudad de entre todas las tribus de Israel en la cual edificar una casa para que mi nombre estuviera allí, mas escogí a David para que estuviera sobre mi pueblo Israel.”

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there; but I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

17 Y mi padre David tuvo en su corazón edificar una casa al nombre del Señor, Dios de Israel.

And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house unto the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.

18 P ero el Señor dijo a mi padre David: “Por cuanto tuviste en tu corazón edificar una casa a mi nombre, bien hiciste en desearlo en tu corazón.

But Jehovah said to David my father, Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart;

19 “ Sin embargo, tú no edificarás la casa, sino que tu hijo que te nacerá, él edificará la casa a mi nombre.”

nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

20 A hora el Señor ha cumplido la palabra que había dicho, pues yo me he levantado en lugar de mi padre David y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como el Señor prometió, y he edificado la casa al nombre del Señor, Dios de Israel.

And Jehovah has performed his word which he spoke; and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Jehovah promised, and I have built the house unto the name of Jehovah the God of Israel.

21 Y he puesto allí un lugar para el arca, en la cual está el pacto del Señor que El hizo con nuestros padres cuando los trajo de la tierra de Egipto. Oración de dedicación del templo

And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Jehovah, which he made with our fathers when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

22 E ntonces Salomón se puso delante del altar del Señor en presencia de toda la asamblea de Israel y extendió las manos al cielo.

And Solomon stood before the altar of Jehovah in the presence of the whole congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward the heavens.

23 Y dijo: Oh Señor, Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y muestras misericordia a tus siervos que andan delante de ti con todo su corazón,

And he said, Jehovah, God of Israel! there is no God like thee, in the heavens above, or on the earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart;

24 q ue has cumplido con tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste; ciertamente has hablado con tu boca y lo has cumplido con tu mano como sucede hoy.

who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou didst promise him; thou spokest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled with thy hand, as at this day.

25 A hora pues, oh Señor, Dios de Israel, cumple con tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: “No te faltará quien se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino para andar delante de mí como tú has andado delante de mí.”

And now, Jehovah, God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy sons take heed to their way, to walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

26 A hora pues, oh Dios de Israel, te ruego que se cumpla tu palabra que hablaste a tu siervo, mi padre David.

And now, O God of Israel, let thy words, I pray thee, be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David my father.

27 P ero, ¿morará verdaderamente Dios sobre la tierra? He aquí, los cielos y los cielos de los cielos no te pueden contener, cuánto menos esta casa que yo he edificado.

But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heavens, and the heaven of heavens, cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

28 N o obstante, atiende a la oración de tu siervo y a su súplica, oh Señor Dios mío, para que oigas el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti;

Yet have respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, Jehovah, my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee this day;

29 q ue tus ojos estén abiertos noche y día hacia esta casa, hacia el lugar del cual has dicho: “Mi nombre estará allí,” para que oigas la oración que tu siervo haga hacia este lugar.

that thine eyes may be open upon this house night and day, upon the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.

30 Y escucha la súplica de tu siervo y de tu pueblo Israel cuando oren hacia este lugar; escucha tú en el lugar de tu morada, en los cielos; escucha y perdona.

And hearken unto the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place, and hear thou in thy dwelling-place, in the heavens, and when thou hearest, forgive.

31 S i alguno peca contra su prójimo y se le exige juramento, y viene y jura delante de tu altar en esta casa,

If a man have sinned against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to adjure him, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;

32 e scucha tú desde los cielos y obra y juzga a tus siervos, condenando al impío haciendo recaer su conducta sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo dándole conforme a su justicia.

then hear thou in the heavens, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, giving him according to his righteousness.

33 C uando tu pueblo Israel sea derrotado delante de un enemigo por haber pecado contra ti, si se vuelven a ti y confiesan tu nombre, y oran y te hacen súplica en esta casa,

When thy people Israel are put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house;

34 e scucha tú desde los cielos y perdona el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y hazlos volver a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

then hear thou in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land that thou gavest unto their fathers.

35 C uando los cielos estén cerrados y no haya lluvia por haber ellos pecado contra ti, y oren hacia este lugar y confiesen tu nombre, y se vuelvan de su pecado cuando tú los aflijas,

When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, because thou hast afflicted them;

36 e scucha tú desde los cielos y perdona el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel; sí, enséñales el buen camino por el que deben andar. Y envía lluvia sobre tu tierra, la que diste a tu pueblo por heredad.

then hear thou in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

37 S i hay hambre en la tierra, si hay pestilencia, si hay tizón o añublo, langosta o saltamontes, si su enemigo los sitia en la tierra de sus ciudades, cualquier plaga, cualquier enfermedad que haya,

If there be famine in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blight, mildew, locust, caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their gates; whatever plague, whatever sickness there be:

38 t oda oración o toda súplica que sea hecha por cualquier hombre o por todo tu pueblo Israel, conociendo cada cual la aflicción de su corazón, y extendiendo sus manos hacia esta casa,

what prayer, what supplication soever be made by any man, of all thy people Israel, when they shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and shall spread forth his hands toward this house;

39 e scucha tú desde los cielos, el lugar de tu morada, y perdona, actúa y da a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, ya que conoces su corazón (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres ),

then hear thou in the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, and forgive, and do, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou, thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men),

40 p ara que te teman todos los días que vivan sobre la faz de la tierra que diste a nuestros padres.

that they may fear thee all the days that they live upon the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

41 T ambién en cuanto al extranjero que no es de tu pueblo Israel, cuando venga de una tierra lejana a causa de tu nombre

And as to the stranger also, who is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name's sake

42 ( porque oirán de tu gran nombre, de tu mano poderosa y de tu brazo extendido), y venga a orar a esta casa,

(for they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy mighty hand, and of thy stretched-out arm); when he shall come and pray toward this house,

43 e scucha tú desde los cielos, el lugar de tu morada, y haz conforme a todo lo que el extranjero te pida, para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre para que te teman, como te teme tu pueblo Israel, y para que sepan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que he edificado.

hear thou in the heavens thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; in order that all peoples of the earth may know thy name, that they may fear thee as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

44 C uando tu pueblo salga a la batalla contra su enemigo, por cualquier camino que tú los envíes, y oren al Señor vueltos hacia la ciudad que tú has escogido y hacia la casa que he edificado a tu nombre,

If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray to Jehovah toward the city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name;

45 e scucha desde los cielos su oración y su súplica, y hazles justicia.

then hear thou in the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their right.

46 C uando pequen contra ti (pues no hay hombre que no peque ) y estés airado contra ellos, y los entregues delante del enemigo, y éstos los lleven cautivos a la tierra del enemigo, lejos o cerca,

If they have sinned against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and give them up to the enemy, and they have carried them away captives unto the enemy's land, far or near;

47 s i recapacitan en la tierra adonde hayan sido llevados cautivos, y se arrepienten y te hacen súplica en la tierra de los que los llevaron cautivos, diciendo: “Hemos pecado y hemos cometido iniquidad, hemos obrado perversamente ”,

and if they shall take it to heart in the land whither they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captive, saying, We have sinned, and have done iniquity, we have dealt perversely;

48 s i se vuelven a ti con todo su corazón y con toda su alma en la tierra de sus enemigos que los llevaron cautivos, y oran a ti vueltos hacia la tierra que diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que has escogido, y hacia la casa que he edificado a tu nombre,

and if they return unto thee with all their heart and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city that thou hast chosen, and the house that I have built unto thy name;

49 e ntonces escucha tú desde los cielos, el lugar de tu morada, su oración y su súplica y hazles justicia,

then hear thou in the heavens, the settled place of thy dwelling, their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their right;

50 y perdona a tu pueblo que ha pecado contra ti, todas las transgresiones que hayan cometido contra ti, y hazlos objeto de compasión ante los que los llevaron cautivos, para que tengan compasión de ellos

and forgive thy people their sin against thee, and all their transgressions whereby they have transgressed against thee, and give them to find compassion with those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them

51 ( porque ellos son tu pueblo y tu heredad que sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro ).

(for they are thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron)—

52 Q ue tus ojos estén abiertos a la súplica de tu siervo y a la súplica de tu pueblo Israel, para escucharlos siempre que te invoquen.

thine eyes being open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.

53 P ues tú los has separado de entre todos los pueblos de la tierra como tu heredad, como lo dijiste por medio de tu siervo Moisés, cuando sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor Dios.

For thou hast separated them from among all peoples of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spokest through Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Jehovah.

54 Y sucedió que cuando Salomón terminó de decir toda esta oración y súplica al Señor, se levantó de delante del altar del Señor, de estar de rodillas con sus manos extendidas hacia el cielo.

And it was so, that when Solomon had ended praying all this prayer and supplication to Jehovah, he arose from before the altar of Jehovah, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth to the heavens,

55 Y se puso de pie y bendijo a toda la asamblea de Israel en alta voz, diciendo:

and he stood and blessed the whole congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56 B endito sea el Señor, que ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que prometió; ninguna palabra ha fallado de toda su buena promesa que hizo por medio de su siervo Moisés.

Blessed be Jehovah, who has given rest to his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there has not failed one word of all his good promises which he spoke through Moses his servant!

57 Q ue el Señor nuestro Dios esté con nosotros, como estuvo con nuestros padres; que no nos deje ni nos abandone,

Jehovah our God be with us, as he was with our fathers; let him not forsake us nor cast us off:

58 p ara que incline nuestro corazón hacia El, para que andemos en todos sus caminos y para que guardemos sus mandamientos, sus estatutos y sus preceptos que ordenó a nuestros padres.

that he may incline our hearts to him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, which he commanded our fathers.

59 Y que estas palabras mías, con las que he suplicado delante del Señor, estén cerca del Señor nuestro Dios día y noche, para que El haga justicia a su siervo y justicia a su pueblo Israel, según las necesidades de cada día,

And let these my words, with which I have made supplication before Jehovah, be nigh to Jehovah our God day and night, that he maintain the right of his servant, and the right of his people Israel, as the matter of each day shall require;

60 a fin de que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que el Señor es Dios; no hay otro.

that all peoples of the earth may know that Jehovah is God, that there is none else;

61 E stén, pues, vuestros corazones enteramente dedicados al Señor nuestro Dios, para que andemos en sus estatutos y guardemos sus mandamientos, como en este día.

and that your heart may be perfect with Jehovah our God, to walk in his statutes and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

62 Y el rey y todo Israel con él ofrecieron sacrificios delante del Señor.

And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifices before Jehovah.

63 Y Salomón ofreció como sacrificio de las ofrendas de paz, que él ofreció al Señor, veintidós mil bueyes y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así dedicaron la casa del Señor el rey y todos los hijos de Israel.

And Solomon sacrificed a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he sacrificed to Jehovah, twenty-two thousand oxen and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of Jehovah.

64 A quel día el rey consagró la parte central del atrio que estaba delante de la casa del Señor, pues allí ofreció el holocausto, la ofrenda de cereal y la grosura de las ofrendas de paz; porque el altar de bronce que estaba delante del Señor era demasiado pequeño para contener el holocausto, la ofrenda de cereal y la grosura de las ofrendas de paz.

The same day the king hallowed the middle of the court that was before the house of Jehovah; for there he offered the burnt-offerings, and the oblations, and the fat of the peace-offerings, because the brazen altar that was before Jehovah was too small to receive the burnt-offerings, and the oblations, and the fat of the peace-offerings.

65 A sí Salomón celebró la fiesta en aquella ocasión, y todo Israel con él, una gran asamblea desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el torrente de Egipto, delante del Señor nuestro Dios, por siete días y siete días más, o sea catorce días.

And at that time Solomon held the feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entrance of Hamath unto the torrent of Egypt, before Jehovah our God, seven days and seven days, fourteen days.

66 A l octavo día despidió al pueblo. Ellos bendijeron al rey, y se fueron a sus tiendas gozosos y alegres de corazón por todo el bien que el Señor había mostrado a su siervo David y a su pueblo Israel.

On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents, joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that Jehovah had done to David his servant, and to Israel his people.
