1 Y estos son los jefes de sus casas paternas, con su genealogía, que subieron conmigo de Babilonia en el reinado del rey Artajerjes:

And these are the chief fathers, and their genealogy, who went up with me from Babylon in the reign of Artaxerxes the king.

2 d e los hijos de Finees, Gersón; de los hijos de Itamar, Daniel; de los hijos de David, Hatús;

Of the children of Phinehas, Gershom; of the children of Ithamar, Daniel; of the children of David, Hattush;

3 d e los hijos de Secanías, que era de los hijos de Paros, Zacarías, y con él ciento cincuenta varones que estaban en la lista genealógica;

of the children of Shecaniah, of the children of Parosh, Zechariah, and with him were registered by genealogy of the males a hundred and fifty.

4 d e los hijos de Pahat-moab, Elioenai, hijo de Zeraías, y con él doscientos varones;

Of the children of Pahath-Moab, Elihoenai the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males.

5 d e los hijos de Zatu, Secanías, hijo de Jahaziel, y con él trescientos varones;

Of the children of Shechaniah, the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males.

6 d e los hijos de Adín, Ebed, hijo de Jonatán, y con él cincuenta varones;

And of the children of Adin, Ebed the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males.

7 d e los hijos de Elam, Jesaías, hijo de Atalías, y con él setenta varones;

And of the children of Elam, Isaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males.

8 d e los hijos de Sefatías, Zebadías, hijo de Micael, y con él ochenta varones;

And of the children of Shephatiah, Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him eighty males.

9 d e los hijos de Joab, Obadías, hijo de Jehiel, y con él doscientos dieciocho varones;

Of the children of Joab, Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males.

10 d e los hijos de Bani, Selomit, hijo de Josifías, y con él ciento sesenta varones;

And of the children of Shelomith, the son of Josiphiah, and with him a hundred and sixty males.

11 d e los hijos de Bebai, Zacarías, hijo de Bebai, y con él veintiocho varones;

And of the children of Bebai, Zechariah the son of Bebai, and with him twenty-eight males.

12 d e los hijos de Azgad, Johanán, hijo de Hacatán, y con él ciento diez varones;

And of the children of Azgad, Johanan the son of Hakkatan, and with him a hundred and ten males.

13 d e los hijos de Adonicam, los postreros, cuyos nombres son estos: Elifelet, Jeiel y Semaías, y con ellos sesenta varones;

And of the children of Adonikam, the last ones, whose names are these: Eliphelet, Jeiel, and Shemaiah, and with them sixty males.

14 y de los hijos de Bigvai, Utai y Zabud, y con ellos setenta varones.

And of the children of Bigvai, Uthai and Zabbud, and with them seventy males.

15 Y los reuní junto al río que corre a Ahava, donde acampamos tres días; y habiendo buscado entre el pueblo y los sacerdotes, no hallé ninguno de los hijos de Leví allí.

And I gathered them together at the river that runs to Ahava; and there we encamped three days; and I surveyed the people and the priests, and found none of the sons of Levi there.

16 P or eso envié a llamar a Eliezer, Ariel, Semaías, Elnatán, Jarib, Elnatán, Natán, Zacarías y Mesulam, jefes, y a Joiarib y a Elnatán, hombres sabios;

And I sent for Eliezer, for Ariel, for Shemaiah, and for Elnathan, and for Jarib, and for Elnathan, and for Nathan, and for Zechariah, and for Meshullam, chief men, and for Joiarib and for Elnathan, men of understanding.

17 y los envié a Iddo, jefe en la localidad de Casifia; puse en boca de ellos las palabras que debían decir a Iddo y a sus hermanos, los sirvientes del templo en la localidad de Casifia, para que nos trajeran ministros para la casa de nuestro Dios.

And I gave them a commission to Iddo the chief, at the place Casiphia, and I put words in their mouths to say to Iddo his brethren the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring to us ministers for the house of our God.

18 Y conforme a la mano bondadosa de nuestro Dios sobre nosotros, nos trajeron a un hombre de entendimiento de los hijos de Mahli, hijo de Leví, hijo de Israel, es decir, a Serebías, con sus hijos y hermanos, dieciocho hombres;

And by the good hand of our God upon us, they brought us a man of understanding, of the sons of Mahli, the son of Levi, the son of Israel, namely, Sherebiah, with his sons and his brethren, eighteen;

19 y a Hasabías y a Jesaías de los hijos de Merari, con sus hermanos y sus hijos, veinte hombres;

and Hashabiah, and with him Isaiah of the sons of Merari, his brethren and their sons, twenty;

20 y de los sirvientes del templo, a quienes David y los príncipes habían puesto para el servicio de los levitas, doscientos veinte sirvientes del templo, todos ellos designados por sus nombres.

and of the Nethinim, whom David and the princes had appointed for the service of the Levites, two hundred and twenty Nethinim: all of them were expressed by name.

21 E ntonces proclamé allí, junto al río Ahava, un ayuno para que nos humilláramos delante de nuestro Dios a fin de implorar de El un viaje feliz para nosotros, para nuestros pequeños y para todas nuestras posesiones.

And I proclaimed a fast there, at the river Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.

22 P orque tuve vergüenza de pedir al rey tropas y hombres de a caballo para protegernos del enemigo en el camino, pues habíamos dicho al rey: La mano de nuestro Dios es propicia para con todos los que le buscan, mas su poder y su ira contra todos los que le abandonan.

For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way; for we had spoken to the king saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his anger is against all them that forsake him.

23 A yunamos, pues, y pedimos a nuestro Dios acerca de esto, y El escuchó nuestra súplica.

And we fasted, and besought our God for this; and he was entreated of us.

24 E ntonces aparté a doce de los sacerdotes principales, a Serebías, a Hasabías, y con ellos diez de sus hermanos;

And I separated twelve of the chiefs of the priests, Sherebiah, Hashabiah, and ten of their brethren with them,

25 y les pesé la plata, el oro y los utensilios, la ofrenda para la casa de nuestro Dios que habían ofrecido el rey, sus consejeros, sus príncipes y todo Israel que allí estaba.

and I weighed to them the silver and the gold and the vessels, the heave-offering for the house of our God, which the king and his counsellors and his princes, and all Israel present, had offered.

26 P esé, pues, y entregué en sus manos seiscientos cincuenta talentos de plata, y utensilios de plata que valían cien talentos, y cien talentos de oro;

And I weighed into their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver; and silver vessels a hundred talents, of gold a hundred talents;

27 t ambién veinte tazas de oro que valían mil dáricos, y dos utensilios de fino y reluciente bronce, valiosos como el oro.

and twenty basons of gold, of a thousand darics; and two vessels of shining copper, precious as gold.

28 Y les dije: Vosotros estáis consagrados al Señor, y los utensilios son sagrados; y la plata y el oro son ofrenda voluntaria al Señor, Dios de vuestros padres.

And I said to them, Ye are holy unto Jehovah; the vessels also are holy; and the silver and the gold is a voluntary offering to Jehovah the God of your fathers.

29 V elad y guardad los hasta que los peséis delante de los principales sacerdotes, los levitas y los jefes de casas paternas de Israel en Jerusalén, en las cámaras de la casa del Señor.

Watch and keep until ye weigh them before the chiefs of the priests and the Levites, and the chiefs of the fathers of Israel, at Jerusalem, in the chambers of the house of Jehovah.

30 L os sacerdotes y los levitas recibieron la plata, el oro y los utensilios ya pesados, para traer los a Jerusalén a la casa de nuestro Dios.

And the priests and the Levites received by weight the silver and the gold and the vessels, to bring them to Jerusalem unto the house of our God.

31 P artimos del río Ahava el día doce del mes primero para ir a Jerusalén; y la mano de nuestro Dios estaba sobre nosotros, y nos libró de mano del enemigo y de las emboscadas en el camino.

And we departed from the river Ahava on the twelfth of the first month, to go to Jerusalem; and the hand of our God was upon us, and he delivered us from the hand of the enemy, and of such as lay in wait by the way.

32 Y llegamos a Jerusalén y nos quedamos allí tres días.

And we came to Jerusalem, and abode there three days.

33 Y al cuarto día la plata y el oro y los utensilios fueron pesados en la casa de nuestro Dios y entregados en mano de Meremot, hijo del sacerdote Urías, y con él estaba Eleazar, hijo de Finees; y con ellos estaban los levitas Jozabad, hijo de Jesúa, y Noadías, hijo de Binúi.

And on the fourth day the silver and the gold and the vessels were weighed in the house of our God into the hand of Meremoth the son of Urijah the priest; and with him was Eleazar the son of Phinehas; and with them were Jozabad the son of Jeshua, and Noadiah the son of Binnui, Levites:

34 T odo fue contado y pesado, y todo el peso fue anotado en aquel tiempo.

the whole by number and by weight; and all the weight was written down at that time.

35 L os desterrados que habían venido de la cautividad ofrecieron holocaustos al Dios de Israel: doce novillos por todo Israel, noventa y seis carneros, setenta y siete corderos, doce machos cabríos como ofrenda por el pecado; todo como holocausto al Señor.

The children of those that had been carried away, who had come out of the captivity, presented burnt-offerings to the God of Israel, twelve bullocks for all Israel, ninety-six rams, seventy-seven lambs, twelve he-goats for a sin-offering: all for a burnt-offering to Jehovah.

36 E ntonces entregaron los edictos del rey a los sátrapas del rey, y a los gobernadores del otro lado del río; y éstos apoyaron al pueblo y a la casa de Dios.

And they delivered the king's edicts to the king's satraps, and to the governors on this side the river. And they furthered the people and the house of God.
