1 A fter Abimelech, Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar, arose to save Israel. He lived in Shamir in the hill country of Ephraim.

Después de Abimelec, se levantó para librar a Israel Tola hijo de Fúa, hijo de Dodo, varón de Isacar, el cual habitaba en Samir en el monte de Efraín.

2 H e judged Israel twenty-three years, and died, and was buried in Shamir.

Y juzgó a Israel veintitrés años; y murió, y fue sepultado en Samir.

3 A fter him Jair, the Gileadite arose, and he judged Israel twenty-two years.

Tras él se levantó Jair galaadita, el cual juzgó a Israel veintidós años.

4 H e had thirty sons who rode on thirty donkey colts, and they had thirty cities, which are called Havvoth Jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

Este tuvo treinta hijos, que cabalgaban sobre treinta asnos; y tenían treinta ciudades, que se llaman las ciudades de Jair hasta hoy, las cuales están en la tierra de Galaad.

5 J air died, and was buried in Kamon.

Y murió Jair, y fue sepultado en Camón. Jefté liberta a Israel de los amonitas

6 T he children of Israel again did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, and served the Baals, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, the gods of Sidon, the gods of Moab, the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines. They abandoned Yahweh, and didn’t serve him.

Pero los hijos de Israel volvieron a hacer lo malo ante los ojos de Jehová, y sirvieron a los baales y a Astarot, a los dioses de Siria, a los dioses de Sidón, a los dioses de Moab, a los dioses de los hijos de Amón y a los dioses de los filisteos; y dejaron a Jehová, y no le sirvieron.

7 Y ahweh’s anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

Y se encendió la ira de Jehová contra Israel, y los entregó en mano de los filisteos, y en mano de los hijos de Amón;

8 T hey troubled and oppressed the children of Israel that year. For eighteen years, they oppressed all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

los cuales oprimieron y quebrantaron a los hijos de Israel en aquel tiempo dieciocho años, a todos los hijos de Israel que estaban al otro lado del Jordán en la tierra del amorreo, que está en Galaad.

9 T he children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim, so that Israel was very distressed.

Y los hijos de Amón pasaron el Jordán para hacer también guerra contra Judá y contra Benjamín y la casa de Efraín, y fue afligido Israel en gran manera.

10 T he children of Israel cried to Yahweh, saying, “We have sinned against you, even because we have forsaken our God, and have served the Baals.”

Entonces los hijos de Israel clamaron a Jehová, diciendo: Nosotros hemos pecado contra ti; porque hemos dejado a nuestro Dios, y servido a los baales.

11 Y ahweh said to the children of Israel, “Didn’t I save you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

Y Jehová respondió a los hijos de Israel: ¿No habéis sido oprimidos de Egipto, de los amorreos, de los amonitas, de los filisteos,

12 T he Sidonians also, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you; and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.

de los de Sidón, de Amalec y de Maón, y clamando a mí no os libré de sus manos?

13 Y et you have forsaken me, and served other gods. Therefore I will save you no more.

Mas vosotros me habéis dejado, y habéis servido a dioses ajenos; por tanto, yo no os libraré más.

14 G o and cry to the gods which you have chosen. Let them save you in the time of your distress!”

Andad y clamad a los dioses que os habéis elegido; que os libren ellos en el tiempo de vuestra aflicción.

15 T he children of Israel said to Yahweh, “We have sinned! Do you to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”

Y los hijos de Israel respondieron a Jehová: Hemos pecado; haz tú con nosotros como bien te parezca; sólo te rogamos que nos libres en este día.

16 T hey put away the foreign gods from among them, and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

Y quitaron de entre sí los dioses ajenos, y sirvieron a Jehová; y él fue angustiado a causa de la aflicción de Israel.

17 T hen the children of Ammon were gathered together and encamped in Gilead. The children of Israel assembled themselves together and encamped in Mizpah.

Entonces se juntaron los hijos de Amón, y acamparon en Galaad; se juntaron asimismo los hijos de Israel, y acamparon en Mizpa.

18 T he people, the princes of Gilead, said to one another, “Who is the man who will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”

Y los príncipes y el pueblo de Galaad dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Quién comenzará la batalla contra los hijos de Amón? Será caudillo sobre todos los que habitan en Galaad.
