1 I n the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,

Aconteció en el año undécimo, en el mes tercero, el día primero del mes, que vino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

2 S on of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom are you like in your greatness?

Hijo de hombre, di a Faraón rey de Egipto, y a su pueblo: ¿A quién te comparaste en tu grandeza?

3 B ehold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.

He aquí era el asirio cedro en el Líbano, de hermosas ramas, de frondoso ramaje y de grande altura, y su copa estaba entre densas ramas.

4 T he waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: its rivers ran all around its plantation; and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.

Las aguas lo hicieron crecer, lo encumbró el abismo; sus ríos corrían alrededor de su pie, y a todos los árboles del campo enviaba sus corrientes.

5 T herefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it spread them out.

Por tanto, se encumbró su altura sobre todos los árboles del campo, y se multiplicaron sus ramas, y a causa de las muchas aguas se alargó su ramaje que había echado.

6 A ll the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches all the animals of the field gave birth to their young; and all great nations lived under its shadow.

En sus ramas hacían nido todas las aves del cielo, y debajo de su ramaje parían todas las bestias del campo, y a su sombra habitaban muchas naciones.

7 T hus was it beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.

Se hizo, pues, hermoso en su grandeza con la extensión de sus ramas; porque su raíz estaba junto a muchas aguas.

8 T he cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the cypress trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty.

Los cedros no lo cubrieron en el huerto de Dios; las hayas no fueron semejantes a sus ramas, ni los castaños fueron semejantes a su ramaje; ningún árbol en el huerto de Dios fue semejante a él en su hermosura.

9 I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.

Lo hice hermoso con la multitud de sus ramas; y todos los árboles del Edén, que estaban en el huerto de Dios, tuvieron de él envidia.

10 T herefore thus said the Lord Yahweh: Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

Por tanto, así dijo Jehová el Señor: Ya que por ser encumbrado en altura, y haber levantado su cumbre entre densas ramas, su corazón se elevó con su altura,

11 I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.

yo lo entregaré en manos del poderoso de las naciones, que de cierto le tratará según su maldad. Yo lo he desechado.

12 S trangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

Y lo destruirán extranjeros, los poderosos de las naciones, y lo derribarán; sus ramas caerán sobre los montes y por todos los valles, y por todos los arroyos de la tierra será quebrado su ramaje; y se irán de su sombra todos los pueblos de la tierra, y lo dejarán.

13 O n his ruin all the birds of the sky shall dwell, and all the animals of the field shall be on his branches;

Sobre su ruina habitarán todas las aves del cielo, y sobre sus ramas estarán todas las bestias del campo,

14 t o the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all who drink water: for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, among the children of men, with those who go down to the pit.

para que no se exalten en su altura todos los árboles que crecen junto a las aguas, ni levanten su copa entre la espesura, ni confíen en su altura todos los que beben aguas; porque todos están destinados a muerte, a lo profundo de la tierra, entre los hijos de los hombres, con los que descienden a la fosa.

15 T hus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when he went down to Sheol I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

Así ha dicho Jehová el Señor: El día que descendió al Seol, hice hacer luto, hice cubrir por él el abismo, y detuve sus ríos, y las muchas aguas fueron detenidas; al Líbano cubrí de tinieblas por él, y todos los árboles del campo se desmayaron.

16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol with those who descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth.

Del estruendo de su caída hice temblar a las naciones, cuando las hice descender al Seol con todos los que descienden a la sepultura; y todos los árboles escogidos del Edén, y los mejores del Líbano, todos los que beben aguas, fueron consolados en lo profundo de la tierra.

17 T hey also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, who lived under his shadow in the middle of the nations.

También ellos descendieron con él al Seol, con los muertos a espada, los que fueron su brazo, los que estuvieron a su sombra en medio de las naciones.

18 T o whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: you shall lie in the middle of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord Yahweh.

¿A quién te has comparado así en gloria y en grandeza entre los árboles del Edén? Pues derribado serás con los árboles del Edén en lo profundo de la tierra; entre los incircuncisos yacerás, con los muertos a espada. Este es Faraón y todo su pueblo, dice Jehová el Señor.
