When Yahweh brought back those who returned to Zion, we were like those who dream.

2 A llora spuntarono sorrisi sulle nostre labbra e canti di gioia sulle nostre lingue. Allora si diceva tra le nazioni: «Il Signore ha fatto cose grandi per loro».

Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “Yahweh has done great things for them.”

3 I l Signore ha fatto cose grandi per noi e noi siamo nella gioia.

Yahweh has done great things for us, and we are glad.

4 S ignore, fa’ tornare i nostri deportati, come torrenti nel deserto del Neghev.

Restore our fortunes again, Yahweh, like the streams in the Negev.

5 Q uelli che seminano con lacrime, mieteranno con canti di gioia.

Those who sow in tears will reap in joy.

6 S e ne va piangendo colui che porta il seme da spargere, ma tornerà con canti di gioia quando porterà i suoi covoni.

He who goes out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, will certainly come again with joy, carrying his sheaves.
