1 C uando, pues, el Señor supo que los fariseos habían oído que Jesús hacía y bautizaba más discípulos que Juan

Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John

2 ( aunque Jesús mismo no bautizaba, sino sus discípulos),

(though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples),

3 a bandonó Judea, y marchó otra vez a Galilea.

He left Judea and departed again to Galilee.

4 Y tenía que pasar por Samaria.

But He needed to go through Samaria.

5 V ino, pues, a una ciudad de Samaria llamada Sicar, cerca de la heredad que Jacob dio a su hijo José.

So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

6 Y estaba allí el pozo de Jacob. Entonces Jesús, cansado del viaje, se sentó, así, junto al pozo. Era como la hora sexta.

Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

7 V ino una mujer de Samaria a sacar agua. Jesús le dijo: Dame de beber.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”

8 P ues sus discípulos habían ido a la ciudad a comprar alimentos.

For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

9 L a mujer samaritana le dijo entonces: ¿Cómo tú, siendo judío, me pides de beber a mí, que soy una mujer samaritana? (Porque judíos y samaritanos no se tratan entre sí.)

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 R espondió Jesús y le dijo: Si conocieras el don de Dios, y quién es el que te dice: Dame de beber; tú le habrías pedido a él, y él te hubiera dado agua viva.

Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

11 L a mujer le dijo: Señor, no tienes con qué sacarla, y el pozo es hondo. ¿De dónde, pues, tienes el agua viva?

The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water?

12 ¿ Acaso eres tú mayor que nuestro padre Jacob, que nos dio este pozo, del cual bebió él mismo, sus hijos y sus ganados?

Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 R espondió Jesús y le dijo: Todo el que bebe de esta agua, volverá a tener sed;

Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again,

14 p ero el que beba del agua que yo le daré, no tendrá sed jamás; sino que el agua que yo le daré se convertirá dentro de él en una fuente de agua que salte para vida eterna.

but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

15 L a mujer le dijo: Señor, dame de esa agua, para que no tenga yo sed, ni venga aquí a sacarla.

The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

16 J esús le dijo: Ve, llama a tu marido, y ven acá.

Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”

17 R espondió la mujer y dijo: No tengo marido. Jesús le dijo: Bien has dicho: No tengo marido;

The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’

18 p orque has tenido cinco maridos, y el que tienes ahora no es marido tuyo; en esto has dicho la verdad.

for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”

19 L e dijo la mujer: Señor, estoy viendo que tú eres profeta.

The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.

20 N uestros padres adoraron en este monte, y vosotros decís que en Jerusalén está el lugar donde se debe adorar.

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

21 J esús le dijo: Mujer, créeme, que está llegando la hora en que ni en este monte ni en Jerusalén adoraréis al Padre.

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 V osotros adoráis lo que no sabéis; nosotros adoramos lo que sabemos; porque la salvación viene de los judíos.

You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.

23 P ero llega la hora, y ahora es, cuando los verdaderos adoradores adorarán al Padre en espíritu y en verdad; porque también el Padre busca tales adoradores que le adoren.

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

24 D ios es Espíritu; y los que le adoran, es necesario que le adoren en espíritu y en verdad.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 L e dijo la mujer: Sé que va a venir el Mesías, llamado el Cristo; cuando él venga, nos declarará todas las cosas.

The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”

26 J esús le dijo: Yo soy, el que te está hablando.

Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He. ” The Whitened Harvest

27 E n esto llegaron sus discípulos, y se sorprendieron de que hablara con una mujer; sin embargo, ninguno dijo: ¿Qué le preguntas?, o: ¿Qué hablas con ella?

And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?”

28 E ntonces la mujer dejó su cántaro, y fue a la ciudad, y dijo a los hombres:

The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men,

29 V enid, ved a un hombre que me ha dicho todo cuanto he hecho. ¿No será éste el Cristo?

“Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

30 E ntonces salieron de la ciudad, y comenzaron a venir a él.

Then they went out of the city and came to Him.

31 E ntretanto, los discípulos le rogaban, diciendo: Rabí, come.

In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.”

32 P ero él les dijo: Yo tengo para comer un alimento que vosotros no sabéis.

But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.”

33 E ntonces los discípulos se decían unos a otros: ¿Le habrá traído alguien de comer?

Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”

34 J esús les dijo: Mi alimento es hacer la voluntad del que me envió, y llevar a cabo su obra.

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.

35 ¿ No decís vosotros: Aún faltan cuatro meses para que llegue la siega? Pues yo os digo: Alzad vuestros ojos y mirad los campos, porque ya están blancos para la siega.

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

36 Y el que siega recibe salario, y recoge fruto para vida eterna, para que el que siembra se regocije juntamente con el que siega.

And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.

37 P orque en esto es verdadero el dicho: Uno es el que siembra, y otro es el que siega.

For in this the saying is true: ‘One sows and another reaps.’

38 Y o os he enviado a segar lo que vosotros no habéis trabajado; otros han trabajado, y vosotros habéis entrado en su labor.

I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors.” The Savior of the World

39 Y de aquella ciudad, muchos de los samaritanos creyeron en él por la palabra de la mujer, que daba testimonio diciendo: Me dijo todo lo que he hecho.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”

40 E ntonces vinieron los samaritanos a él y le rogaban que se quedase con ellos; y se quedó allí dos días.

So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.

41 Y creyeron muchos más por la palabra de él,

And many more believed because of His own word.

42 y decían a la mujer: Ya no creemos por lo que tú has hablado, porque nosotros mismos hemos oído, y sabemos que verdaderamente éste es el Salvador del mundo, el Cristo. Jesucristo sana al hijo de un noble

Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.” Welcome at Galilee

43 D os días después, salió de allí y fue a Galilea.

Now after the two days He departed from there and went to Galilee.

44 P orque Jesús mismo había dado testimonio de que un profeta no tiene estima en su propia tierra.

For Jesus Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.

45 C uando llegó a Galilea, los galileos le recibieron, habiendo visto todas las cosas que había hecho en Jerusalén, en la fiesta; porque también ellos habían ido a la fiesta.

So when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they also had gone to the feast. A Nobleman’s Son Healed

46 V ino, pues, Jesús otra vez a Caná de Galilea, donde había convertido el agua en vino. Y había un oficial del rey, cuyo hijo estaba enfermo, en Capernaúm.

So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum.

47 É ste, cuando oyó que Jesús había llegado de Judea a Galilea, se fue hacia él y le rogaba que descendiese y sanase a su hijo, porque estaba a punto de morir.

When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

48 E ntonces Jesús le dijo: Si no veis señales y prodigios, de ningún modo creéis.

Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe.”

49 E l oficial del rey le dijo: Señor, desciende antes que mi hijo muera.

The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies!”

50 J esús le dijo: Vete, tu hijo vive. Y el hombre creyó la palabra que Jesús le dijo, y se puso en camino.

Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.

51 C uando ya él descendía, sus siervos salieron a recibirle, y le dieron noticias, diciendo: Tu hijo vive.

And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”

52 E ntonces él les preguntó a qué hora había comenzado a mejorar. Y le dijeron: Ayer a la hora séptima le dejó la fiebre.

Then he inquired of them the hour when he got better. And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”

53 E l padre, entonces, comprendió que aquélla era la hora en que Jesús le había dicho: Tu hijo vive; y creyó él y toda su familia.

So the father knew that it was at the same hour in which Jesus said to him, “Your son lives.” And he himself believed, and his whole household.

54 É sta fue una segunda señal que hizo Jesús cuando fue de Judea a Galilea.

This again is the second sign Jesus did when He had come out of Judea into Galilee.
