1 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

The word of the Lord came again to me, saying:

2 H ijo de hombre, hubo dos mujeres, hijas de una misma madre,

“Son of man, there were two women, The daughters of one mother.

3 l as cuales fornicaron en Egipto; fornicaron en su juventud. Allí fueron apretados sus pechos, allí fueron estrujados sus pechos virginales.

They committed harlotry in Egypt, They committed harlotry in their youth; Their breasts were there embraced, Their virgin bosom was there pressed.

4 Y se llamaban, la mayor, Oholá, y su hermana, Oholibá; las cuales llegaron a ser mías, y dieron a luz hijos e hijas. Y se llamaron: Samaria, Oholá; y Jerusalén, Oholibá.

Their names: Oholah the elder and Oholibah her sister; They were Mine, And they bore sons and daughters. As for their names, Samaria is Oholah, and Jerusalem is Oholibah. The Older Sister, Samaria

5 Y Oholá cometió fornicación aun cuando me pertenecía a mí; y se enamoró de sus amantes los asirios, vecinos suyos,

“Oholah played the harlot even though she was Mine; And she lusted for her lovers, the neighboring Assyrians,

6 v estidos de púrpura violeta, gobernadores y capitanes, jóvenes apuestos todos ellos, jinetes expertos.

Who were clothed in purple, Captains and rulers, All of them desirable young men, Horsemen riding on horses.

7 Y se prostituyó con ellos, con todos los más escogidos de los hijos de los asirios; y con todos aquellos de quienes se enamoró, se contaminó con todos los ídolos de ellos.

Thus she committed her harlotry with them, All of them choice men of Assyria; And with all for whom she lusted, With all their idols, she defiled herself.

8 Y no dejó sus fornicaciones comenzadas en Egipto; porque con ella se echaron en su juventud, y ellos comprimieron sus pechos virginales, y derramaron sobre ella su fornicación.

She has never given up her harlotry brought from Egypt, For in her youth they had lain with her, Pressed her virgin bosom, And poured out their immorality upon her.

9 P or lo cual la entregué en manos de sus amantes, en manos de los hijos de los asirios, de quienes se había enamorado locamente.

“Therefore I have delivered her Into the hand of her lovers, Into the hand of the Assyrians, For whom she lusted.

10 E llos descubrieron su desnudez, tomaron sus hijos y sus hijas, y a ella la mataron a espada; y vino a ser refrán de aviso entre las mujeres, pues en ella se hicieron escarmientos.

They uncovered her nakedness, Took away her sons and daughters, And slew her with the sword; She became a byword among women, For they had executed judgment on her. The Younger Sister, Jerusalem

11 Y lo vio su hermana Oholibá, y se corrompió en su lujuria más que ella; y sus fornicaciones fueron más que las fornicaciones de su hermana.

“Now although her sister Oholibah saw this, she became more corrupt in her lust than she, and in her harlotry more corrupt than her sister’s harlotry.

12 S e enamoró locamente de los hijos de los asirios sus vecinos, gobernadores y capitanes, vestidos de ropas y armas excelentes, jinetes expertos, todos ellos jóvenes apuestos.

“She lusted for the neighboring Assyrians, Captains and rulers, Clothed most gorgeously, Horsemen riding on horses, All of them desirable young men.

13 Y vi que se había contaminado; un mismo camino era el de ambas.

Then I saw that she was defiled; Both took the same way.

14 Y aumentó sus fornicaciones; pues cuando vio a hombres pintados en la pared, imágenes de caldeos pintadas de bermellón,

But she increased her harlotry; She looked at men portrayed on the wall, Images of Chaldeans portrayed in vermilion,

15 c eñidos por sus lomos con talabartes, y con amplios turbantes en sus cabezas, teniendo todos ellos apariencia de capitanes, a la manera de los hombres de Babilonia, de Caldea, tierra de su nacimiento,

Girded with belts around their waists, Flowing turbans on their heads, All of them looking like captains, In the manner of the Babylonians of Chaldea, The land of their nativity.

16 s e enamoró locamente de ellos a primera vista, y les envió mensajeros a la tierra de los caldeos.

As soon as her eyes saw them, She lusted for them And sent messengers to them in Chaldea.

17 A sí, pues, se llegaron a ella los hombres de Babilonia en su lecho de amores, y la contaminaron con sus inmundicias, y ella también se contaminó con ellos, y su alma se hastió de ellos.

“Then the Babylonians came to her, into the bed of love, And they defiled her with their immorality; So she was defiled by them, and alienated herself from them.

18 A sí hizo patentes sus fornicaciones y descubrió sus desnudeces, por lo cual mi alma se hastió de ella, como se había ya hastiado mi alma de su hermana.

She revealed her harlotry and uncovered her nakedness. Then I alienated Myself from her, As I had alienated Myself from her sister.

19 M as todavía multiplicó sus fornicaciones, trayendo a su memoria los días de su juventud, en los cuales había fornicado en la tierra de Egipto.

“Yet she multiplied her harlotry In calling to remembrance the days of her youth, When she had played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

20 Y se enamoró apasionadamente de aquellos disolutos, cuya carne es como la carne de los asnos, y cuyo flujo como flujo de caballos.

For she lusted for her paramours, Whose flesh is like the flesh of donkeys, And whose issue is like the issue of horses.

21 A sí trajiste de nuevo a la memoria la lujuria de tu juventud, cuando los egipcios estrujaban tus pechos, los pechos de tu juventud.

Thus you called to remembrance the lewdness of your youth, When the Egyptians pressed your bosom Because of your youthful breasts. Judgment on Jerusalem

22 P or tanto, Oholibá, así dice el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo suscitaré contra ti a tus amantes, de los cuales se hastió tu alma, y les haré venir contra ti de todas partes;

“Therefore, Oholibah, thus says the Lord God: ‘Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you, From whom you have alienated yourself, And I will bring them against you from every side:

23 l os de Babilonia, y todos los caldeos, los de Pecod, Soa y Coa, y todos los de Asiria con ellos; jóvenes apuestos, gobernadores y capitanes, nobles y varones de renombre, que montan a caballo todos ellos.

The Babylonians, All the Chaldeans, Pekod, Shoa, Koa, All the Assyrians with them, All of them desirable young men, Governors and rulers, Captains and men of renown, All of them riding on horses.

24 Y vendrán contra ti con estrépito de carros y ruedas, y con multitud de pueblos. Escudos, paveses y yelmos pondrán contra ti en derredor; y yo les encomendaré el juicio, y por sus leyes te juzgarán.

And they shall come against you With chariots, wagons, and war-horses, With a horde of people. They shall array against you Buckler, shield, and helmet all around. ‘I will delegate judgment to them, And they shall judge you according to their judgments.

25 Y pondré mi celo contra ti, y procederán contigo con furor; te quitarán la nariz y las orejas, y lo que te quede caerá a espada. Ellos tomarán a tus hijos y a tus hijas, y tu remanente será consumido por el fuego.

I will set My jealousy against you, And they shall deal furiously with you; They shall remove your nose and your ears, And your remnant shall fall by the sword; They shall take your sons and your daughters, And your remnant shall be devoured by fire.

26 Y te despojarán de tus vestidos, y te arrebatarán todas tus hermosas joyas.

They shall also strip you of your clothes And take away your beautiful jewelry.

27 Y haré cesar de ti tu lujuria, y tu fornicación traída de la tierra de Egipto; y no levantarás ya más a ellos tus ojos, ni nunca más te acordarás de Egipto.

‘Thus I will make you cease your lewdness and your harlotry Brought from the land of Egypt, So that you will not lift your eyes to them, Nor remember Egypt anymore.’

28 P orque así dice el Señor Jehová: He aquí que yo te entrego en manos de aquellos que aborreciste, en manos de aquellos de los cuales se hastió tu alma;

“For thus says the Lord God: ‘Surely I will deliver you into the hand of those you hate, into the hand of those from whom you alienated yourself.

29 l os cuales procederán contigo con odio, y tomarán todo el fruto de tu labor, y te dejarán desnuda y descubierta; y se descubrirá la inmundicia de tus fornicaciones, y tu lujuria y tu prostitución.

They will deal hatefully with you, take away all you have worked for, and leave you naked and bare. The nakedness of your harlotry shall be uncovered, both your lewdness and your harlotry.

30 E stas cosas se harán contigo porque fornicaste en pos de las naciones, y te contaminaste con sus ídolos.

I will do these things to you because you have gone as a harlot after the Gentiles, because you have become defiled by their idols.

31 E n el camino de tu hermana anduviste; yo, pues, pondré su cáliz en tu mano.

You have walked in the way of your sister; therefore I will put her cup in your hand.’

32 A sí dice el Señor Jehová: Beberás el cáliz de tu hermana, que es hondo y ancho; será por mofa y por irrisión; está lleno hasta los bordes.

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘You shall drink of your sister’s cup, The deep and wide one; You shall be laughed to scorn And held in derision; It contains much.

33 S erás llena de embriaguez y de aflicción con el cáliz del espanto y del estupor, con el cáliz de tu hermana Samaria.

You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, The cup of horror and desolation, The cup of your sister Samaria.

34 L o beberás, pues, y lo agotarás; romperás con los dientes sus tiestos, y te rasgarás los pechos, porque yo he hablado, dice el Señor Jehová.

You shall drink and drain it, You shall break its shards, And tear at your own breasts; For I have spoken,’ Says the Lord God.

35 P or tanto, así dice el Señor Jehová: Por cuanto te has olvidado de mí, y me has echado tras tus espaldas, por eso, carga tú también con la culpabilidad de tu lujuria y tus fornicaciones.

“Therefore thus says the Lord God: ‘Because you have forgotten Me and cast Me behind your back, Therefore you shall bear the penalty Of your lewdness and your harlotry.’” Both Sisters Judged

36 Y me dijo Jehová: Hijo de hombre, ¿no juzgarás tú a Oholá y a Oholibá, y les echarás en cara sus abominaciones?

The Lord also said to me: “Son of man, will you judge Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominations.

37 P orque han adulterado, y hay sangre en sus manos, y han adulterado con sus ídolos; y aun a sus hijos que habían dado a luz para mí, hicieron pasar por el fuego, para que les sirvieran de comida.

For they have committed adultery, and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and even sacrificed their sons whom they bore to Me, passing them through the fire, to devour them.

38 I ncluso me han llegado a hacer esto: contaminaron mi santuario en aquel mismo día, y profanaron mis sábados.

Moreover they have done this to Me: They have defiled My sanctuary on the same day and profaned My Sabbaths.

39 P ues cuando habían sacrificado sus hijos a sus ídolos, entraban en mi santuario el mismo día para contaminarlo; he aquí lo que han hecho en mi propia casa.

For after they had slain their children for their idols, on the same day they came into My sanctuary to profane it; and indeed thus they have done in the midst of My house.

40 A demás, enviasteis a buscar hombres que viniesen de lejos, a los cuales habían sido enviados mensajeros, y he aquí que llegaron aquellos por cuyo amor te lavaste, te pintaste los ojos, y te ataviaste con adornos;

“Furthermore you sent for men to come from afar, to whom a messenger was sent; and there they came. And you washed yourself for them, painted your eyes, and adorned yourself with ornaments.

41 y te sentaste sobre suntuoso estrado, y fue preparada mesa delante de él, y sobre ella pusiste mi incienso y mi aceite.

You sat on a stately couch, with a table prepared before it, on which you had set My incense and My oil.

42 Y se oía allí clamor de multitud que se solazaba; y con los varones de la gente común fueron traídos los sabeos del desierto, y pusieron pulseras en sus manos, y bellas coronas sobre sus cabezas.

The sound of a carefree multitude was with her, and Sabeans were brought from the wilderness with men of the common sort, who put bracelets on their wrists and beautiful crowns on their heads.

43 Y dije respecto de la consumida por tantos adulterios: Todavía cometen fornicaciones con ella, y ella con ellos.

Then I said concerning her who had grown old in adulteries, ‘Will they commit harlotry with her now, and she with them? ’

44 P orque todos han venido a ella como quien viene a una mujer ramera; así vinieron a Oholá y a Oholibá, mujeres libertinas.

Yet they went in to her, as men go in to a woman who plays the harlot; thus they went in to Oholah and Oholibah, the lewd women.

45 P ero los hombres justos las juzgarán por la ley de las adúlteras, y por la ley de las que derraman sangre; porque son adúlteras, y hay sangre en sus manos.

But righteous men will judge them after the manner of adulteresses, and after the manner of women who shed blood, because they are adulteresses, and blood is on their hands.

46 P orque así dice el Señor Jehová: Surja contra ellas una reunión de gentes para entregarlas al terror y al pillaje;

“For thus says the Lord God: ‘Bring up an assembly against them, give them up to trouble and plunder.

47 y las turbas las apedrearán, y las atravesarán con sus espadas; matarán a sus hijos y a sus hijas, y consumirán sus casas con fuego.

The assembly shall stone them with stones and execute them with their swords; they shall slay their sons and their daughters, and burn their houses with fire.

48 A sí haré cesar la lujuria de la tierra, y escarmentarán todas las mujeres, aprendiendo a no ir en pos de vuestra lujuria.

Thus I will cause lewdness to cease from the land, that all women may be taught not to practice your lewdness.

49 Y harán recaer sobre vosotras vuestras inmoralidades, y pagaréis los pecados de vuestra idolatría; y sabréis que yo soy el Señor Jehová.

They shall repay you for your lewdness, and you shall pay for your idolatrous sins. Then you shall know that I am the Lord God.’”
