1 ¡ Ojalá me toleraseis un poco de insensatez! Sí, toleradme.

Oh, that you would bear with me in a little folly—and indeed you do bear with me.

2 P orque os celo con celo de Dios; pues os he desposado con un solo esposo, para presentaros como una virgen pura a Cristo.

For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 P ero temo que como la serpiente con su astucia engañó a Eva, vuestros pensamientos sean de alguna manera extraviados de la sincera fidelidad a Cristo.

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 P orque si viene alguno predicando a otro Jesús que el que os hemos predicado, o si recibís otro espíritu que el que habéis recibido, u otro evangelio que el que habéis aceptado, bien lo toleráis,

For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted—you may well put up with it! Paul and False Apostles

5 y pienso que en nada he sido inferior a los más eminentes apóstoles.

For I consider that I am not at all inferior to the most eminent apostles.

6 P ues aunque sea tosco en la palabra, no lo soy en el conocimiento; en todo y por todo os lo hemos demostrado.

Even though I am untrained in speech, yet I am not in knowledge. But we have been thoroughly manifested among you in all things.

7 ¿ Pequé yo humillándome a mí mismo, para que vosotros fueseis enaltecidos, por cuanto os he predicado el evangelio de Dios de balde?

Did I commit sin in humbling myself that you might be exalted, because I preached the gospel of God to you free of charge?

8 H e despojado a otras iglesias, recibiendo salario para serviros a vosotros.

I robbed other churches, taking wages from them to minister to you.

9 Y cuando estaba entre vosotros y tuve necesidad, a ninguno fui carga, pues lo que me faltaba, lo suplieron los hermanos que vinieron de Macedonia, y en todo me guardé y me guardaré de seros gravoso.

And when I was present with you, and in need, I was a burden to no one, for what I lacked the brethren who came from Macedonia supplied. And in everything I kept myself from being burdensome to you, and so I will keep myself.

10 P or la verdad de Cristo que está en mí, que no se me quitará esta mi gloria en las regiones de Acaya.

As the truth of Christ is in me, no one shall stop me from this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

11 ¿ Por qué? ¿Porque no os amo? Dios lo sabe.

Why? Because I do not love you? God knows!

12 M as lo que hago, lo seguiré haciendo, para privar de pretexto a aquellos que desean un pretexto para ser considerados iguales a nosotros en aquello en que se glorían.

But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast.

13 P orque los tales son falsos apóstoles, obreros fraudulentos, que se disfrazan de apóstoles de Cristo.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

14 Y no es de extrañar, porque el mismo Satanás se disfraza de ángel de luz.

And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

15 A sí que, no es mucho el que también sus ministros se disfracen como ministros de justicia; cuyo fin será conforme a sus obras. Las credenciales de un apóstol

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works. Reluctant Boasting

16 O tra vez digo: Que nadie me tenga por insensato; o de otra manera, recibidme como a loco, para que yo también me gloríe un poquito.

I say again, let no one think me a fool. If otherwise, at least receive me as a fool, that I also may boast a little.

17 L o que hablo, no lo hablo según el Señor, sino como en locura, con esta confianza de gloriarme.

What I speak, I speak not according to the Lord, but as it were, foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

18 P uesto que muchos se glorían según la carne, también yo me gloriaré;

Seeing that many boast according to the flesh, I also will boast.

19 p orque de buena gana toleráis a los necios, siendo vosotros cuerdos.

For you put up with fools gladly, since you yourselves are wise!

20 P ues toleráis si alguno os esclaviza, si alguno os devora, si alguno toma lo vuestro, si alguno se enaltece, si alguno os da de bofetadas.

For you put up with it if one brings you into bondage, if one devours you, if one takes from you, if one exalts himself, if one strikes you on the face.

21 P ara vergüenza nuestra lo digo, para eso fuimos demasiado débiles. Pero en lo que otro tenga osadía (hablo con insensatez), también yo tengo osadía.

To our shame I say that we were too weak for that! But in whatever anyone is bold—I speak foolishly—I am bold also. Suffering for Christ

22 ¿ Son hebreos? Yo también. ¿Son israelitas? Yo también. ¿Son descendientes de Abraham? También yo.

Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? So am I.

23 ¿ Son ministros de Cristo? (Hablo como si hubiera perdido el juicio.) Yo más; en trabajos, más abundante; en azotes, sin número; en cárceles, mucho más; en peligros de muerte, muchas veces.

Are they ministers of Christ?—I speak as a fool—I am more: in labors more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequently, in deaths often.

24 D e los judíos, cinco veces he recibido cuarenta azotes menos uno.

From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.

25 T res veces he sido azotado con varas; una vez, apedreado; tres veces he padecido naufragio; una noche y un día he estado como náufrago en alta mar;

Three times I was beaten with rods; once I was stoned; three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 e n viajes, muchas veces; en peligros de ríos, peligros de ladrones, peligros de los de mi nación, peligros de los gentiles, peligros en la ciudad, peligros en despoblado, peligros en el mar, peligros entre falsos hermanos;

in journeys often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils of my own countrymen, in perils of the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 e n trabajo y fatiga, en muchas noches pasadas en vela, en hambre y sed, en muchos ayunos, en frío y en desnudez;

in weariness and toil, in sleeplessness often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness—

28 y además de otras cosas, lo que sobre mí se agolpa cada día, la preocupación por todas las iglesias.

besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.

29 ¿ Quién enferma, y yo no enfermo? ¿A quién se le hace tropezar, y yo no me indigno?

Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?

30 S i es necesario gloriarse, me gloriaré en lo que es de mi debilidad.

If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity.

31 E l Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, quien es bendito por los siglos, sabe que no miento.

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.

32 E n Damasco, el etnarca del rey Aretas guardaba la ciudad de los damascenos para prenderme;

In Damascus the governor, under Aretas the king, was guarding the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me;

33 y fui descolgado en una espuerta por una abertura hecha en la muralla, y escapé de sus manos.

but I was let down in a basket through a window in the wall, and escaped from his hands.
