1 D espués que cesó el tumulto, mandó llamar Pablo a los discípulos, y habiéndolos exhortado, se despidió y salió para ir a Macedonia.

After the uproar had ceased, Paul called the disciples to himself, embraced them, and departed to go to Macedonia.

2 Y después de recorrer aquellas regiones, y de exhortarles con abundancia de palabras, llegó a Grecia.

Now when he had gone over that region and encouraged them with many words, he came to Greece

3 D espués de haber estado allí tres meses, y habiendo tramado los judíos una conjura contra él, cuando iba a embarcarse para Siria, tomó la decisión de volver por Macedonia.

and stayed three months. And when the Jews plotted against him as he was about to sail to Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia.

4 Y le acompañaron hasta Asia, Sópater de Berea, Aristarco y Segundo de Tesalónica, Gayo de Derbe y Timoteo; y de Asia, Tíquico y Trófimo.

And Sopater of Berea accompanied him to Asia—also Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia.

5 É stos, habiéndose adelantado, nos esperaron en Tróade.

These men, going ahead, waited for us at Troas.

6 Y nosotros, pasados los días de los panes sin levadura, navegamos desde Filipos, y en cinco días nos reunimos con ellos en Tróade, donde nos quedamos siete días. Visita de despedida de Pablo en Tróade

But we sailed away from Philippi after the Days of Unleavened Bread, and in five days joined them at Troas, where we stayed seven days. Ministering at Troas

7 E l primer día de la semana, estando reunidos los discípulos para partir el pan, Pablo conversaba con ellos, habiendo de salir al día siguiente; y alargó el discurso hasta la medianoche.

Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.

8 Y había muchas lámparas en el aposento alto donde estaban reunidos;

There were many lamps in the upper room where they were gathered together.

9 y un joven llamado Eutico, que estaba sentado en la ventana, rendido de un sueño profundo, por cuanto Pablo alargaba su discurso, vencido del sueño, cayó del tercer piso abajo, y fue levantado muerto.

And in a window sat a certain young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep. He was overcome by sleep; and as Paul continued speaking, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.

10 E ntonces descendió Pablo y se echó sobre él, y abrazándole, dijo: No os alarméis, pues está vivo.

But Paul went down, fell on him, and embracing him said, “Do not trouble yourselves, for his life is in him.”

11 D espués de haber subido, y partido el pan y comido, habló largamente hasta el alba; y así salió.

Now when he had come up, had broken bread and eaten, and talked a long while, even till daybreak, he departed.

12 Y llevaron al joven vivo, y fueron grandemente consolados. Viaje de Tróade a Mileto

And they brought the young man in alive, and they were not a little comforted. From Troas to Miletus

13 N osotros, adelantándonos a embarcarnos, navegamos a Asón para recoger allí a Pablo, ya que así lo había dispuesto, queriendo él ir por tierra.

Then we went ahead to the ship and sailed to Assos, there intending to take Paul on board; for so he had given orders, intending himself to go on foot.

14 C uando se reunió con nosotros en Asón, tomándole a bordo, vinimos a Mitilene.

And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene.

15 N avegando de allí, al día siguiente llegamos delante de Quío, y al otro día cruzamos hasta Samos; y habiendo hecho escala en Trogilio, al día siguiente llegamos a Mileto.

We sailed from there, and the next day came opposite Chios. The following day we arrived at Samos and stayed at Trogyllium. The next day we came to Miletus.

16 P orque Pablo había decidido pasar de largo por Éfeso, para no detenerse en Asia, pues se apresuraba por estar el día de Pentecostés, si le fuese posible, en Jerusalén. Discurso de despedida de Pablo en Mileto

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost. The Ephesian Elders Exhorted

17 E nviando, pues, desde Mileto a Éfeso, hizo llamar a los ancianos de la iglesia.

From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called for the elders of the church.

18 C uando se presentaron a él, les dijo: Vosotros sabéis bien cómo me he comportado entre vosotros todo el tiempo, desde el primer día que entré en Asia,

And when they had come to him, he said to them: “You know, from the first day that I came to Asia, in what manner I always lived among you,

19 s irviendo al Señor con toda humildad, y con muchas lágrimas, y pruebas que me han venido por las asechanzas de los judíos;

serving the Lord with all humility, with many tears and trials which happened to me by the plotting of the Jews;

20 c ómo no me retraje de anunciaros nada que fuese útil y de enseñaros, públicamente y por las casas,

how I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house,

21 t estificando solemnemente a judíos y a gentiles acerca del arrepentimiento para con Dios, y de la fe en nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

testifying to Jews, and also to Greeks, repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

22 Y ahora, he aquí que yo, encadenado en el espíritu, voy a Jerusalén, sin saber lo que allá me acontecerá;

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,

23 s alvo que el Espíritu Santo por todas las ciudades me da testimonio solemne, diciendo que me esperan cadenas y tribulaciones.

except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me.

24 P ero de ninguna cosa hago caso, ni estimo preciosa mi vida para mí mismo, con tal que acabe mi carrera con gozo, y el ministerio que recibí del Señor Jesús, para dar solemne testimonio del evangelio de la gracia de Dios.

But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

25 Y ahora, he aquí que yo sé que ninguno de todos vosotros, entre quienes he pasado predicando el reino de Dios, verá más mi rostro.

“And indeed, now I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.

26 P or tanto, yo os pongo por testigos en el día de hoy, de que estoy limpio de la sangre de todos;

Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men.

27 p orque no he rehuido anunciaros todo el consejo de Dios.

For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.

28 P or tanto, mirad por vosotros, y por todo el rebaño en que el Espíritu Santo os ha puesto por supervisores, para apacentar la iglesia del Señor, la cual él adquirió para sí por medio de su propia sangre.

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

29 P orque yo sé que después de mi partida entrarán en medio de vosotros lobos rapaces, que no perdonarán al rebaño.

For I know this, that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock.

30 Y de vosotros mismos se levantarán hombres que hablen cosas perversas para arrastrar tras sí a los discípulos.

Also from among yourselves men will rise up, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after themselves.

31 P or tanto, velad, recordando que, por tres años, de noche y de día, no he cesado de amonestar con lágrimas a cada uno.

Therefore watch, and remember that for three years I did not cease to warn everyone night and day with tears.

32 Y ahora, hermanos, os encomiendo a Dios, y a la palabra de su gracia, que tiene poder para sobreedificaros y daros herencia con todos los santificados.

“So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

33 N i plata ni oro ni vestido de nadie he codiciado.

I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or apparel.

34 A ntes bien, vosotros mismos sabéis que para lo que me ha sido necesario a mí y a los que están conmigo, estas manos me han servido.

Yes, you yourselves know that these hands have provided for my necessities, and for those who were with me.

35 E n todo os he mostrado que, trabajando así, se debe ayudar a los necesitados, y recordar las palabras del Señor Jesús, que dijo: Más bienaventurado es dar que recibir.

I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”

36 Y dicho esto, se puso de rodillas, y oró con todos ellos.

And when he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all.

37 E ntonces hubo gran llanto de todos; y echándose al cuello de Pablo, le besaban afectuosamente.

Then they all wept freely, and fell on Paul’s neck and kissed him,

38 a fligidos en gran manera por la palabra que había dicho, de que no verían más su rostro. Y le acompañaron al barco.

sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they would see his face no more. And they accompanied him to the ship.
