1 Y él os dio vida a vosotros, cuando estabais muertos por vuestros delitos y pecados,

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

2 e n los cuales anduvisteis en otro tiempo, siguiendo la corriente de este mundo, conforme al príncipe de la potestad del aire, el espíritu que ahora actúa en los hijos de desobediencia,

in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

3 e ntre los cuales también todos nosotros nos movíamos en otro tiempo al impulso de los deseos de nuestra carne, satisfaciendo las tendencias de la carne y de los pensamientos, y éramos por naturaleza hijos de ira, lo mismo que los demás.

among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4 P ero Dios, que es rico en misericordia, por su gran amor con que nos amó,

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,

5 a un estando nosotros muertos por nuestros delitos, nos dio vida juntamente con Cristo (por gracia habéis sido salvados),

even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

6 y juntamente con él nos resucitó, y asimismo nos hizo sentar en los lugares celestiales con Cristo Jesús,

and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

7 p ara mostrar en los siglos venideros las sobreabundantes riquezas de su gracia en su benignidad para con nosotros en Cristo Jesús.

that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

8 P orque por gracia habéis sido salvados por medio de la fe; y esto no proviene de vosotros, pues es don de Dios;

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

9 n o a base de obras, para que nadie se gloríe.

not of works, lest anyone should boast.

10 P orque somos hechura suya, creados en Cristo Jesús para buenas obras, las cuales Dios preparó de antemano para que anduviésemos en ellas. Reconciliación por la cruz de Cristo

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Brought Near by His Blood

11 P or tanto, acordaos de que en otro tiempo vosotros, los gentiles en cuanto a la carne, los que sois llamados incircuncisión por la llamada circuncisión hecha con mano en la carne,

Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh—who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands—

12 e n aquel tiempo estabais sin Cristo, excluidos de la ciudadanía de Israel y extranjeros en cuanto a los pactos de la promesa, sin esperanza y sin Dios en el mundo.

that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

13 P ero ahora en Cristo Jesús, vosotros que en otro tiempo estabais lejos, habéis sido hechos cercanos por la sangre de Cristo.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Christ Our Peace

14 P orque él es nuestra paz, que de ambos pueblos hizo uno, derribando la pared intermedia de separación,

For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,

15 a boliendo en su carne la enemistad, la ley de los mandamientos expresados en ordenanzas, para crear en sí mismo de los dos un solo y nuevo hombre, haciendo la paz,

having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace,

16 y mediante la cruz reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un solo cuerpo, matando en ella la enemistad.

and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity.

17 Y vino y anunció las buenas nuevas de paz a vosotros que estabais lejos, y a los que estaban cerca;

And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near.

18 p orque por medio de él los unos y los otros tenemos acceso por un mismo Espíritu al Padre.

For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. Christ Our Cornerstone

19 A sí que ya no sois extranjeros ni advenedizos, sino conciudadanos de los santos, y miembros de la familia de Dios,

Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

20 s obreedificados sobre el fundamento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo la principal piedra del ángulo Jesucristo mismo,

having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief corner stone,

21 e n quien todo el edificio, bien ajustado, va creciendo para ser un santuario sagrado en el Señor;

in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord,

22 e n quien también vosotros sois juntamente edificados para morada de Dios en el Espíritu.

in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
