1 A simismo David y los jefes del ejército apartaron para el ministerio a los hijos de Asaf, de Hemán y de Jedutún, para que profetizasen con arpas, salterios y címbalos; y el número de ellos, hombres idóneos para la obra de su ministerio, fue:

Moreover David and the captains of the army separated for the service some of the sons of Asaph, of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, stringed instruments, and cymbals. And the number of the skilled men performing their service was:

2 D e los hijos de Asaf: Zacur, José, Netanías y Asarelá, hijos de Asaf, bajo la dirección de Asaf, el cual profetizaba bajo las órdenes del rey.

Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah; the sons of Asaph were under the direction of Asaph, who prophesied according to the order of the king.

3 D e los hijos de Jedutún: Gedalías, Zerí, Jesaías, Hasabías, Matitías y Simeí; seis, bajo la dirección de su padre Jedutún, el cual profetizaba con arpa, para aclamar y alabar a Jehová.

Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp to give thanks and to praise the Lord.

4 D e los hijos de Hemán: Buquías, Matanías, Uziel, Sebuel, Jerimot, Hananías, Hananí, Eliyata, Gidaltí, Romamti-ézer, Josbecasa, Malotí, Hotir y Mahaziot.

Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

5 T odos éstos fueron hijos de Hemán, vidente del rey en las cosas de Dios, para exaltar su poder; y Dios dio a Hemán catorce hijos y tres hijas.

All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to exalt his horn. For God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6 Y todos éstos estaban bajo la dirección de su padre en la música, en la casa de Jehová, con címbalos, salterios y arpas, para el ministerio del templo de Dios, cumpliendo las disposiciones del rey, de Asaf, Jedutún y Hemán.

All these were under the direction of their father for the music in the house of the Lord, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of the house of God. Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman were under the authority of the king.

7 Y el número de ellos, con sus hermanos, instruidos en el canto para Jehová, todos ellos maestros, era de doscientos ochenta y ocho.

So the number of them, with their brethren who were instructed in the songs of the Lord, all who were skillful, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

8 Y echaron suertes para servir por turnos, entrando el pequeño con el grande, lo mismo el maestro que el discípulo.

And they cast lots for their duty, the small as well as the great, the teacher with the student.

9 L a primera suerte salió por Asaf, para José; la segunda para Gedalías, quien con sus hermanos e hijos fueron doce;

Now the first lot for Asaph came out for Joseph; the second for Gedaliah, him with his brethren and sons, twelve;

10 l a tercera para Zacur, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the third for Zaccur, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

11 l a cuarta para Izrí, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the fourth for Jizri, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

12 l a quinta para Netanías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the fifth for Nethaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

13 l a sexta para Buquiyías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the sixth for Bukkiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

14 l a séptima para Jesarela, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the seventh for Jesharelah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

15 l a octava para Jesaías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the eighth for Jeshaiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

16 l a novena para Matanías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the ninth for Mattaniah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

17 l a décima para Simeí, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the tenth for Shimei, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

18 l a undécima para Azarel, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the eleventh for Azarel, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

19 l a duodécima para Hasabías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the twelfth for Hashabiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

20 l a decimatercera para Subael, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the thirteenth for Shubael, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

21 l a decimacuarta para Matitías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the fourteenth for Mattithiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

22 l a decimaquinta para Jerimot, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the fifteenth for Jeremoth, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

23 l a decimasexta para Hananías, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the sixteenth for Hananiah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

24 l a decimaséptima para Josbecasa, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the seventeenth for Joshbekashah, his sons and his brethren, twelve;

25 l a decimaoctava para Hananí, con sus hijos y sus hermanos, doce;

the eighteenth for Hanani, his sons and his brethren, twelve;
