1 M as Jesús se fue al monte de los olivos.

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

2 Y por la mañana se presentó de nuevo en el templo, y todo el pueblo vino a él; y sentándose, les enseñaba.

Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.

3 E ntonces los escribas y los fariseos le trajeron una mujer sorprendida en adulterio; y poniéndola en medio,

Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst,

4 l e dijeron: Maestro, esta mujer ha sido sorprendida en el acto mismo de adulterio.

they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.

5 Y en la ley nos mandó Moisés apedrear a tales mujeres. Tú, pues, ¿qué dices?

Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?”

6 M as esto decían tentándole, para tener de qué acusarle. Pero Jesús, inclinado hacia el suelo, escribía en tierra con el dedo.

This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

7 Y como insistieran en preguntarle, se enderezó y les dijo: El que de vosotros esté sin pecado, sea el primero en arrojar la piedra contra ella.

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

8 E inclinándose de nuevo hacia el suelo, siguió escribiendo en tierra.

And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.

9 P ero ellos, al oír esto, acusados por su conciencia, salían uno a uno, comenzando desde los más viejos hasta los últimos; y quedó solo Jesús, y la mujer que estaba en medio.

Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

10 E nderezándose Jesús, y no viendo a nadie sino a la mujer, le dijo: Mujer, ¿dónde están aquellos que te acusaban? ¿Ninguno te condenó?

When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

11 E lla dijo: Ninguno, Señor. Entonces le dijo Jesús: Tampoco yo te condeno; vete, y no peques ya más. Jesucristo, la luz del mundo

She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

12 O tra vez Jesús les habló, diciendo: Yo soy la luz del mundo; el que me sigue, de ningún modo andará en tinieblas, sino que tendrá la luz de la vida.

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Jesus Defends His Self-Witness

13 E ntonces los fariseos le dijeron: Tú das testimonio acerca de ti mismo; tu testimonio no es verdadero.

The Pharisees therefore said to Him, “You bear witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true.”

14 R espondió Jesús y les dijo: Aunque yo doy testimonio acerca de mí mismo, mi testimonio es verdadero, porque sé de dónde he venido y adónde voy; pero vosotros no sabéis de dónde vengo, ni adónde voy.

Jesus answered and said to them, “Even if I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from and where I am going.

15 V osotros juzgáis según la carne; yo no juzgo a nadie.

You judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.

16 Y si yo juzgo, mi juicio es verdadero; porque no soy yo solo, sino yo y el Padre que me envió.

And yet if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father who sent Me.

17 Y en vuestra ley está escrito que el testimonio de dos hombres es verdadero.

It is also written in your law that the testimony of two men is true.

18 Y o soy el que doy testimonio de mí mismo, y el Padre que me envió da también testimonio de mí.

I am One who bears witness of Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness of Me.”

19 E llos le dijeron: ¿Dónde está tu Padre? Respondió Jesús: Ni a mí me conocéis, ni a mi Padre; si a mí me conocieseis, también a mi Padre conoceríais.

Then they said to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father. If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”

20 E stas palabras habló Jesús en el lugar de las ofrendas, enseñando en el templo; y nadie le prendió, porque aún no había llegado su hora. Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir

These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple; and no one laid hands on Him, for His hour had not yet come. Jesus Predicts His Departure

21 O tra vez les dijo Jesús: Yo me voy, y me buscaréis, pero moriréis en vuestro pecado; adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir.

Then Jesus said to them again, “I am going away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin. Where I go you cannot come.”

22 D ecían entonces los judíos: ¿Acaso se matará a sí mismo, que dice: Adonde yo voy, vosotros no podéis venir?

So the Jews said, “Will He kill Himself, because He says, ‘Where I go you cannot come’ ?”

23 Y les dijo: Vosotros sois de abajo, yo soy de arriba; vosotros sois de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo.

And He said to them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

24 P or eso os dije que moriréis en vuestros pecados; porque si no creéis que yo soy, moriréis en vuestros pecados.

Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

25 E ntonces le dijeron: ¿Tú quién eres? Jesús les dijo: En primer lugar, lo que os estoy diciendo.

Then they said to Him, “Who are You?” And Jesus said to them, “Just what I have been saying to you from the beginning.

26 M uchas cosas tengo que hablar y juzgar de vosotros; pero el que me envió es verdadero; y yo, lo que le he oído a él, esto hablo al mundo.

I have many things to say and to judge concerning you, but He who sent Me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I heard from Him.”

27 P ero no comprendieron que les hablaba del Padre.

They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father.

28 L es dijo, pues, Jesús: Cuando hayáis levantado al Hijo del Hombre, entonces conoceréis que yo soy, y que nada hago por mí mismo, sino que según me enseñó el Padre, así hablo.

Then Jesus said to them, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of Myself; but as My Father taught Me, I speak these things.

29 Y el que me envió, está conmigo; no me ha dejado solo el Padre, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada.

And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”

30 M ientras hablaba él estas cosas, muchos creyeron en él. La verdad os hará libres

As He spoke these words, many believed in Him. The Truth Shall Make You Free

31 D ijo entonces Jesús a los judíos que le habían creído: Si vosotros permanecéis en mi palabra, seréis verdaderamente mis discípulos;

Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed.

32 y conoceréis la verdad, y la verdad os hará libres.

And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

33 L e respondieron: Linaje de Abraham somos, y jamás hemos sido esclavos de nadie. ¿Cómo dices tú: Seréis libres?

They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s descendants, and have never been in bondage to anyone. How can You say, ‘You will be made free’ ?”

34 J esús les respondió: De cierto, de cierto os digo, que todo aquel que hace pecado, es esclavo del pecado.

Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.

35 Y el esclavo no queda en la casa para siempre; el hijo sí queda para siempre.

And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

36 A sí que, si el Hijo os liberta, seréis verdaderamente libres.

Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Abraham’s Seed and Satan’s

37 S é que sois descendientes de Abraham; pero procuráis matarme, porque mi palabra no halla cabida en vosotros.

“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you.

38 Y o hablo lo que he visto cerca del Padre; y vosotros hacéis lo que habéis oído cerca de vuestro padre. Sois de vuestro padre el diablo

I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”

39 R espondieron y le dijeron: Nuestro padre es Abraham. Jesús les dijo: Si fueseis hijos de Abraham, haríais las obras de Abraham.

They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.

40 P ero ahora procuráis matarme a mí, hombre que os he hablado la verdad, la cual se la he oído a Dios; no hizo esto Abraham.

But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.

41 V osotros hacéis las obras de vuestro padre. Entonces le dijeron: Nosotros no somos nacidos de fornicación; tenemos un padre, Dios.

You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”

42 J esús entonces les dijo: Si fuese Dios vuestro padre, me amaríais a mí; porque yo de Dios he salido, y he venido; pues no he venido de mí mismo, sino que él me envió.

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.

43 ¿ Por qué no comprendéis mi lenguaje? Porque no podéis escuchar mi palabra.

Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.

44 V osotros sois de vuestro padre el diablo, y queréis hacer los deseos de vuestro padre. Él ha sido homicida desde el principio, y no se mantuvo en la verdad, pues no hay verdad en él. Cuando habla mentira, de lo suyo habla; porque es mentiroso, y padre de la mentira.

You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

45 Y a mí, porque yo digo la verdad, no me creéis.

But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

46 ¿ Quién de vosotros me redarguye de pecado? Pues si digo la verdad, ¿por qué vosotros no me creéis?

Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?

47 E l que es de Dios, escucha las palabras de Dios; por esto no las escucháis vosotros, porque no sois de Dios. La preexistencia de Cristo

He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” Before Abraham Was, I AM

48 R espondieron entonces los judíos, y le dijeron: ¿No decimos bien nosotros, que tú eres samaritano, y que tienes demonio?

Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

49 R espondió Jesús: Yo no tengo demonio, sino que honro a mi Padre; y vosotros me deshonráis.

Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.

50 P ero yo no busco mi gloria; hay quien la busca, y juzga.

And I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges.

51 D e cierto, de cierto os digo, que el que guarda mi palabra, nunca jamás verá la muerte.

Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

52 E ntonces los judíos le dijeron: Ahora nos damos perfecta cuenta de que tienes demonio. Abraham murió, y los profetas; y tú dices: El que guarda mi palabra, nunca jamás gustará la muerte.

Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You have a demon! Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’

53 ¿ Eres tú, acaso, mayor que nuestro padre Abraham, el cual murió? ¡Y los profetas murieron! ¿Quién te haces a ti mismo?

Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead. Who do You make Yourself out to be?”

54 R espondió Jesús: Si yo me glorifico a mí mismo, mi gloria nada es; mi Padre es el que me glorifica, el que vosotros decís que es vuestro Dios.

Jesus answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing. It is My Father who honors Me, of whom you say that He is your God.

55 P ero vosotros no le conocéis; mas yo le conozco, y si dijese que no le conozco, sería mentiroso como vosotros; pero le conozco, y guardo su palabra.

Yet you have not known Him, but I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him,’ I shall be a liar like you; but I do know Him and keep His word.

56 A braham vuestro padre se regocijó de que había de ver mi día; lo vio, y se regocijó.

Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”

57 E ntonces le dijeron los judíos: Aún no tienes cincuenta años, ¿y has visto a Abraham?

Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”

58 J esús les dijo: De cierto, de cierto os digo: Antes que Abraham naciese, yo soy.

Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”

59 T omaron entonces piedras para arrojárselas; pero Jesús se escondió y salió del templo atravesando por en medio de ellos, y así pasó.

Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
