1 O íd esto, casa de Jacob, los que os llamáis del nombre de Israel, los que salieron de las aguas de Judá, los que juran en el nombre de Jehová, y hacen mención del Dios de Israel, mas no en verdad ni en justicia;

“Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the Lord, And make mention of the God of Israel, But not in truth or in righteousness;

2 p orque de la santa ciudad se nombran, y en el Dios de Israel se apoyan; su nombre es Jehová de los ejércitos.

For they call themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is His name:

3 L o que pasó, ya antes lo declaré, y de mi boca salió; lo publiqué, lo hice de pronto, y fue realidad.

“I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

4 P or cuanto conozco que eres obstinado, y barra de hierro tu cerviz, y tu frente de bronce,

Because I knew that you were obstinate, And your neck was an iron sinew, And your brow bronze,

5 p or eso, te lo dije ya hace tiempo; antes que sucediera te lo advertí, para que no dijeras: Mi ídolo lo hizo, mis imágenes de escultura y de fundición mandaron estas cosas.

Even from the beginning I have declared it to you; Before it came to pass I proclaimed it to you, Lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them, And my carved image and my molded image Have commanded them.’

6 L o oíste, y lo ves realizado, todo ello; ¿y no lo anunciaréis vosotros? Ahora, pues, te he hecho oír cosas nuevas y ocultas que tú no sabías.

“You have heard; See all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, Even hidden things, and you did not know them.

7 A hora han sido creadas, no en días pasados, ni antes de este día las habías oído, para que no digas: He aquí que yo lo sabía.

They are created now and not from the beginning; And before this day you have not heard them, Lest you should say, ‘Of course I knew them.’

8 S í, nunca lo habías oído, ni nunca lo habías conocido; ciertamente no se abrió antes tu oído; porque sabía que habías de portarte con mucha perfidia, y se te llama rebelde desde el vientre.

Surely you did not hear, Surely you did not know; Surely from long ago your ear was not opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, And were called a transgressor from the womb.

9 P or amor de mi nombre diferiré mi ira, y para alabanza mía la reprimiré para no destruirte.

“For My name’s sake I will defer My anger, And for My praise I will restrain it from you, So that I do not cut you off.

10 H e aquí te he refinado, y no como a plata; te he probado en el crisol de la aflicción.

Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

11 P or mí, por amor de mí mismo lo haré, pues ¿cómo sería profanado mi nombre? Mi honra no la daré a otro.

For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another. God’s Ancient Plan to Redeem Israel

12 E scúchame, Jacob, y tú, Israel, a quien llamé: Yo soy, yo soy el primero, yo también el postrero.

“Listen to Me, O Jacob, And Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last.

13 M i mano fundó también la tierra, y mi mano derecha extendió los cielos; al llamarlos yo, comparecen todos a una.

Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them, They stand up together.

14 J untaos todos vosotros, y oíd. ¿Quién hay entre ellos que anuncie estas cosas? Aquel a quien Jehová amó ejecutará su voluntad en Babilonia, y su brazo estará sobre los caldeos.

“All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; He shall do His pleasure on Babylon, And His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.

15 Y o, yo hablé, y le llamé y le traje; por tanto, será prosperado su camino.

I, even I, have spoken; Yes, I have called him, I have brought him, and his way will prosper.

16 A cercaos a mí, oíd esto: desde el principio no hablé en secreto; desde que eso se hizo, allí estoy yo; y ahora me envió Jehová el Señor, y su Espíritu. Plan de Dios sobre Israel

“Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord God and His Spirit Have sent Me.”

17 A sí ha dicho Jehová, tu Redentor, el Santo de Israel: Yo soy Jehová tu Dios, que te enseña para provecho tuyo, que te encamina por el camino que debes seguir.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.

18 ¡ Oh, si hubieras atendido a mis mandamientos! Sería entonces tu paz como un río, y tu justicia como las ondas del mar.

Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

19 S ería también como la arena tu descendencia, y los renuevos de tus entrañas como los granos de arena; nunca su nombre sería cortado, ni raído de mi presencia.

Your descendants also would have been like the sand, And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand; His name would not have been cut off Nor destroyed from before Me.”

20 S alid de Babilonia, huid de entre los caldeos; dad nuevas de esto con voz de júbilo, publicadlo, llevadlo hasta lo postrero de la tierra; decid: Redimió Jehová a Jacob su siervo.

Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing, Declare, proclaim this, Utter it to the end of the earth; Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob!”

21 N o tuvieron sed cuando los llevó por los desiertos; les hizo brotar agua de la piedra; abrió la peña, y corrieron las aguas.

And they did not thirst When He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow from the rock for them; He also split the rock, and the waters gushed out.

22 N o hay paz para los malvados, dice Jehová.

“ There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”
