1 O íd esto, casa de Jacob, que os llamáis del nombre de Israel, los que salieron de las aguas de Judá, los que juran en el nombre del SEÑOR, y hacen memoria del Dios de Israel no en verdad ni en justicia;

“Hear this, O house of Jacob, Who are called by the name of Israel, And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah; Who swear by the name of the Lord, And make mention of the God of Israel, But not in truth or in righteousness;

2 p orque de la santa ciudad se nombran, y en el Dios de Israel confían; su nombre, el SEÑOR de los ejércitos.

For they call themselves after the holy city, And lean on the God of Israel; The Lord of hosts is His name:

3 L o que pasó, ya hace días que lo dije, y de mi boca salió; lo publiqué, lo hice presto, y vino a ser.

“I have declared the former things from the beginning; They went forth from My mouth, and I caused them to hear it. Suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

4 P orque conozco que eres duro, y nervio de hierro tu cerviz, y tu frente de bronce,

Because I knew that you were obstinate, And your neck was an iron sinew, And your brow bronze,

5 T e lo dije ya hace días, antes que viniera te lo enseñé, para que no dijeras: Mi ídolo lo hizo, mi escultura y mi vaciadizo mandó estas cosas.

Even from the beginning I have declared it to you; Before it came to pass I proclaimed it to you, Lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them, And my carved image and my molded image Have commanded them.’

6 L o oíste, lo viste todo; ¿y no lo anunciaréis vosotros? Ahora, pues, ya te hice oír cosas nuevas y escondidas, que tú no sabías.

“You have heard; See all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, Even hidden things, and you did not know them.

7 A hora fueron creadas, no en días pasados, ni antes de este día las habías oído; para que no digas: He aquí que yo lo sabía.

They are created now and not from the beginning; And before this day you have not heard them, Lest you should say, ‘Of course I knew them.’

8 C iertamente, nunca lo habías oído, ciertamente nunca lo habías conocido; ciertamente nunca antes se abrió tu oreja. Porque sabía que siendo desleal habías de desobedecer, por tanto te llamé rebelde desde el vientre.

Surely you did not hear, Surely you did not know; Surely from long ago your ear was not opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, And were called a transgressor from the womb.

9 P or causa de mi nombre dilataré mi furor; y para alabanza mía te esperaré con paciencia, para no talarte.

“For My name’s sake I will defer My anger, And for My praise I will restrain it from you, So that I do not cut you off.

10 H e aquí te he purificado, y no como a plata; te he escogido en horno de aflicción.

Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.

11 P or mí, por mí, lo haré. ¿De otra manera cómo sería profanado? Y mi honra no la daré a otro.

For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; For how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another. God’s Ancient Plan to Redeem Israel

12 O yeme, Jacob, y tú, Israel, llamado mío: Yo mismo, yo el primero, también yo el postrero.

“Listen to Me, O Jacob, And Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last.

13 C iertamente mi mano fundó la tierra, y mi mano derecha midió los cielos con el palmo; al llamarlos yo, aparecieron juntamente.

Indeed My hand has laid the foundation of the earth, And My right hand has stretched out the heavens; When I call to them, They stand up together.

14 J untaos todos vosotros, y oíd. ¿Quién hay entre ellos, que anuncie estas cosas? El SEÑOR lo amó, el cual ejecutará su voluntad sobre Babilonia, y su brazo sobre los caldeos.

“All of you, assemble yourselves, and hear! Who among them has declared these things? The Lord loves him; He shall do His pleasure on Babylon, And His arm shall be against the Chaldeans.

15 Y o, yo hablé, y lo llamé, y lo traje; por tanto, será prosperado su camino.

I, even I, have spoken; Yes, I have called him, I have brought him, and his way will prosper.

16 A llegaos a mí, oíd esto. Desde el principio no hablé en escondido; desde que la cosa se hizo, estuve allí; y ahora el SEÑOR Dios me envió, y su Espíritu.

“Come near to Me, hear this: I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, I was there. And now the Lord God and His Spirit Have sent Me.”

17 A sí dijo el SEÑOR, Redentor tuyo, el Santo de Israel: Yo soy, el SEÑOR Dios tuyo, que te enseña provechosamente; que te encamina por el camino en que andas.

Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.

18 ¡ Deseo que miraras tú a mis mandamientos! Fuera entonces tu paz como un río, y tu justicia como las ondas del mar.

Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

19 F uera, como la arena, tu simiente; y los renuevos de tus entrañas como las pedrezuelas de ella; nunca su nombre fuera cortado, ni raído de mi presencia.

Your descendants also would have been like the sand, And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand; His name would not have been cut off Nor destroyed from before Me.”

20 S alid de Babilonia, huid de entre los caldeos. Dad nuevas de esto con voz de alegría; publicadlo, llevadlo hasta lo postrero de la tierra. Decid: Redimió el SEÑOR a su siervo Jacob.

Go forth from Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! With a voice of singing, Declare, proclaim this, Utter it to the end of the earth; Say, “The Lord has redeemed His servant Jacob!”

21 Y no tuvieron sed cuando los llevó por los desiertos; les hizo correr agua de la piedra; cortó la peña, y corrieron las aguas.

And they did not thirst When He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow from the rock for them; He also split the rock, and the waters gushed out.

22 N o hay paz para los malos, dijo el SEÑOR.

“ There is no peace,” says the Lord, “for the wicked.”
