1 ¶ Y oyeron los apóstoles y los hermanos que estaban en Judea, que también los gentiles habían recibido la palabra de Dios.

Now the apostles and brethren who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

2 C uando Pedro subió a Jerusalén, contendían contra él los que eran de la circuncisión,

And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,

3 d iciendo: ¿Por qué has entrado a varones que tienen capullo, y has comido con ellos?

saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”

4 E ntonces comenzando Pedro, les declaró por orden lo pasado, diciendo:

But Peter explained it to them in order from the beginning, saying:

5 E staba yo en la ciudad de Jope orando, y vi en rapto de entendimiento una visión: un vaso, como un gran lienzo, que descendía, que por los cuatro cabos era bajado del cielo, y venía hasta mí.

“I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.

6 E n el cual cuando puse los ojos, consideré y vi animales terrestres de cuatro pies, y bestias fieras, y reptiles, y aves del cielo.

When I observed it intently and considered, I saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.

7 Y oí una voz que me decía: Levántate, Pedro, mata y come.

And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’

8 Y dije: Señor, no; porque ninguna cosa común o inmunda entró jamás en mi boca.

But I said, ‘Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’

9 E ntonces la voz me respondió del cielo la segunda vez: Lo que Dios limpió, no lo ensucies tú.

But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’

10 Y esto fue hecho por tres veces; y volvió todo a ser tomado arriba en el cielo.

Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.

11 Y he aquí, luego sobrevinieron tres hombres a la casa donde yo estaba, enviados a mí de Cesarea.

At that very moment, three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent to me from Caesarea.

12 Y el Espíritu me dijo que fuera con ellos sin dudar. Y vinieron también conmigo estos seis hermanos, y entramos en casa de un varón,

Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house.

13 e l cual nos contó cómo había visto un ángel en su casa, que se paró, y le dijo: Envía a Jope, y haz venir a un Simón que tiene por sobrenombre Pedro;

And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,

14 e l cual te hablará palabras por las cuales serás salvo tú, y toda tu casa.

who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’

15 Y cuando comencé a hablar, cayó el Espíritu Santo sobre ellos, también como sobre nosotros al principio.

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

16 E ntonces me acordé del dicho del Señor, cuando dijo: Juan ciertamente bautizó en agua; mas vosotros seréis bautizados en el Espíritu Santo.

Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’

17 A sí que, si Dios les dio el mismo don también como a nosotros que hemos creído en el Señor Jesús el Cristo, ¿quién era yo que pudiera estorbar a Dios?

If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”

18 E ntonces, oídas estas cosas, callaron, y glorificaron a Dios, diciendo: De manera que también a los gentiles ha dado Dios arrepentimiento para vida.

When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.” Barnabas and Saul at Antioch

19 ¶ Y los que habían sido esparcidos por causa de la tribulación que sobrevino en tiempo de Esteban, anduvieron hasta Fenicia, y Chipre, y Antioquía, no hablando a nadie la Palabra, sino sólo a los judíos.

Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.

20 Y de ellos había unos varones ciprianos y cirenences, los cuales cuando entraron en Antioquía, hablaron a los griegos, anunciando el Evangelio del Señor Jesús.

But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.

21 Y la mano del Señor era con ellos; y creyendo, gran número se convirtió al Señor.

And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.

22 Y llegó la fama (de estas cosas) a oídos de la Iglesia que estaba en Jerusalén; y enviaron a Bernabé que fuera hasta Antioquía.

Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.

23 E l cual, cuando llegó, y vio la gracia de Dios, se regocijó; y exhortó a todos a que permanecieran en su propósito del corazón en el Señor.

When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

24 P orque era varón bueno, y lleno del Espíritu Santo y de fe; y muchas personas fueron agregadas al Señor.

For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

25 Y partió Bernabé a Tarso a buscar a Saulo; y hallado, lo trajo a Antioquía.

Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul.

26 Y conversaron todo un año allí con la Iglesia, y enseñaron a mucha gente; de tal manera que los discípulos fueron llamados cristianos primeramente en Antioquía.

And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch. Relief to Judea

27 ¶ Y en aquellos días descendieron de Jerusalén profetas a Antioquía.

And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.

28 Y levantándose uno de ellos, llamado Agabo, señaló por el Espíritu, que había de haber una gran hambre en toda la redondez de la tierra; la cual hubo en tiempo de Claudio César.

Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29 E ntonces los discípulos, cada uno conforme a lo que tenía, determinaron enviar subsidio a los hermanos que habitaban en Judea;

Then the disciples, each according to his ability, determined to send relief to the brethren dwelling in Judea.

30 l o cual asimismo hicieron, enviándolo a los ancianos por mano de Bernabé y de Saulo.

This they also did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
