1 L os hijos de Judá: Fares, Hezrón, Carmi, Hur, y Sobal.

The sons of Judah were Perez, Hezron, Carmi, Hur, and Shobal.

2 Y Reaía hijo de Sobal, engendró a Jahat; y Jahat engendró a Ahumai y a Lahad. Estas son las familias de los zoratitas.

And Reaiah the son of Shobal begot Jahath, and Jahath begot Ahumai and Lahad. These were the families of the Zorathites.

3 Y éstas son las del padre de Etam: Jezreel, Isma, e Ibdas. Y el nombre de su hermana fue Haze-lelponi.

These were the sons of the father of Etam: Jezreel, Ishma, and Idbash; and the name of their sister was Hazelelponi;

4 Y Penuel fue padre de Gedor, y Ezer padre de Husa. Estos fueron los hijos de Hur, primogénito de Efrata, padre de Belén.

and Penuel was the father of Gedor, and Ezer was the father of Hushah. These were the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah the father of Bethlehem.

5 Y Asur padre de Tecoa tuvo dos mujeres, a saber, Hela, y Naara.

And Ashhur the father of Tekoa had two wives, Helah and Naarah.

6 Y Naara le dio a luz a Ahuzam, Hefer, Temeni, y Ahastari. Estos fueron los hijos de Naara.

Naarah bore him Ahuzzam, Hepher, Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

7 Y los hijos de Hela: Zeret, Jezoar, y Etnán.

The sons of Helah were Zereth, Zohar, and Ethnan;

8 C os engendró a Anub, y a Zobeba, y la familia de Aharhel hijo de Harum.

and Koz begot Anub, Zobebah, and the families of Aharhel the son of Harum.

9 Y Jabes fue más ilustre que sus hermanos, al cual su madre llamó Jabes (dolor), diciendo: Por cuanto lo di a luz con dolor.

Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.”

10 E invocó Jabes al Dios de Israel, diciendo: ¡Oh si me dieras bendición, y ensancharas mi término, y si tu mano fuera conmigo, y me libraras de mal, que no me dañe! E hizo Dios que le viniera lo que pidió.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.

11 Y Quelub hermano de Súa engendró a Mehir, el cual fue padre de Estón.

Chelub the brother of Shuhah begot Mehir, who was the father of Eshton.

12 Y Estón engendró a Bet-rafa, a Paseah, y a Tehina, padre de la ciudad de Nahas; éstos son los varones de Reca.

And Eshton begot Beth-Rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-Nahash. These were the men of Rechah.

13 L os hijos de Cenaz: Otoniel, y Seraías. Los hijos de Otoniel: Hatat,

The sons of Kenaz were Othniel and Seraiah. The sons of Othniel were Hathath,

14 y Meonotai, el cual engendró a Ofra. Y Seraías engendró a Joab, padre de los habitantes en el valle llamado de Carisim, porque fueron artífices.

and Meonothai who begot Ophrah. Seraiah begot Joab the father of Ge Harashim, for they were craftsmen.

15 L os hijos de Caleb hijo de Jefone: Iru, Ela, y Naam; e hijo de Ela, fue Cenaz.

The sons of Caleb the son of Jephunneh were Iru, Elah, and Naam. The son of Elah was Kenaz.

16 L os hijos de Jehalelel: Zif, Zifa, Tirías, y Asareel.

The sons of Jehallelel were Ziph, Ziphah, Tiria, and Asarel.

17 Y los hijos de Esdras: Jeter, Mered, Efer, y Jalón; también engendró a María, Samai, y a Isba, padre de Estemoa.

The sons of Ezrah were Jether, Mered, Epher, and Jalon. And Mered’s wife bore Miriam, Shammai, and Ishbah the father of Eshtemoa.

18 Y su mujer Jehudaía le dio a luz a Jered padre de Gedor, a Heber padre de Soco, y a Jecutiel padre de Zanoa. Estos fueron los hijos de Bitia hija de Faraón, con la cual se casó Mered.

(His wife Jehudijah bore Jered the father of Gedor, Heber the father of Sochoh, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah.) And these were the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, whom Mered took.

19 Y los hijos de la mujer de Hodías, hermana de Naham, fueron el padre de Keila de Garmi, y Estemoa de Maacati.

The sons of Hodiah’s wife, the sister of Naham, were the fathers of Keilah the Garmite and of Eshtemoa the Maachathite.

20 Y los hijos de Simón: Amnón, y Rina, hijo de Hanán, y Tilón. Y los hijos de Isi: Zohet, y Benzohet.

And the sons of Shimon were Amnon, Rinnah, Ben-Hanan, and Tilon. And the sons of Ishi were Zoheth and Ben-Zoheth.

21 L os hijos de Sela, hijo de Judá: Er, padre de Leca, y Laada, padre de Maresa, y de la familia de la casa del oficio del lino en la casa de Asbea;

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were Er the father of Lecah, Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of the linen workers of the house of Ashbea;

23 E stos fueron alfareros y se hallaban en medio de plantíos y cercados, los cuales moraron allá con el rey en su obra.

These were the potters and those who dwell at Netaim and Gederah; there they dwelt with the king for his work. The Family of Simeon

24 ¶ Los hijos de Simeón: Nemuel, Jamín, Jarib, Zera, Saúl;

The sons of Simeon were Nemuel, Jamin, Jarib, Zerah, and Shaul,

25 t ambién Salum su hijo, Mibsam su hijo, y Misma su hijo.

Shallum his son, Mibsam his son, and Mishma his son.

26 L os hijos de Misma: Hamuel su hijo, Zacur su hijo, y Simei su hijo.

And the sons of Mishma were Hamuel his son, Zacchur his son, and Shimei his son.

27 L os hijos de Simei fueron dieciséis, y seis hijas; mas sus hermanos no tuvieron muchos hijos, ni multiplicaron toda su familia como los hijos de Judá.

Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters; but his brothers did not have many children, nor did any of their families multiply as much as the children of Judah.

28 Y habitaron en Beerseba, en Molada, en Hazar-sual,

They dwelt at Beersheba, Moladah, Hazar Shual,

29 e n Bilha, en Ezem, en Tolad,

Bilhah, Ezem, Tolad,

30 e n Betuel, en Horma, y en Siclag.

Bethuel, Hormah, Ziklag,

31 E n Bet-marcabot, en Hazar-susim, en Bet-birai, y en Saaraim. Estas fueron sus ciudades hasta el reino de David.

Beth Marcaboth, Hazar Susim, Beth Biri, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities until the reign of David.

32 Y sus aldeas fueron Etam, Aín, Rimón, Toquén, y Asán, cinco ciudades;

And their villages were Etam, Ain, Rimmon, Tochen, and Ashan—five cities—

33 y todos su villas que estaban en contorno de estas ciudades hasta Baal. Esta fue su habitación, y ésta su descendencia.

and all the villages that were around these cities as far as Baal. These were their dwelling places, and they maintained their genealogy:

34 Y Mesobab, Jamlec, y Josías hijo de Amasías;

Meshobab, Jamlech, and Joshah the son of Amaziah;

35 J oel, Jehú hijo de Josibías, hijo de Seraías, hijo de Asiel;

Joel, and Jehu the son of Joshibiah, the son of Seraiah, the son of Asiel;

36 E lioenai, Jaacoba, Jesohaía, Asaías, Adiel, Jesimiel, Benaía;

Elioenai, Jaakobah, Jeshohaiah, Asaiah, Adiel, Jesimiel, and Benaiah;

37 y Ziza hijo de Sifi, hijo de Alón, hijo de Jedaías, hijo de Simri, hijo de Semaías.

Ziza the son of Shiphi, the son of Allon, the son of Jedaiah, the son of Shimri, the son of Shemaiah—

38 E stos por sus nombres eran los príncipes en sus familias, y que fueron multiplicados en gran manera en las casas de sus padres.

these mentioned by name were leaders in their families, and their father’s house increased greatly.

39 Y llegaron hasta la entrada de Gedor hasta el oriente del valle, buscando pastos para sus ganados.

So they went to the entrance of Gedor, as far as the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.

40 Y hallaron gruesos y buenos pastos, y tierra ancha y espaciosa, quieta y reposada, porque los hijos de Cam la habitaban antes.

And they found rich, good pasture, and the land was broad, quiet, and peaceful; for some Hamites formerly lived there.

41 Y éstos que han sido escritos por sus nombres, vinieron en días de Ezequías rey de Judá, e hirieron sus tiendas y estancias que allí hallaron, y los destruyeron, hasta hoy, y habitaron allí en lugar de ellos; por cuanto había allí pastos para sus ganados.

These recorded by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and they attacked their tents and the Meunites who were found there, and utterly destroyed them, as it is to this day. So they dwelt in their place, because there was pasture for their flocks there.

42 Y asimismo quinientos hombres de ellos, de los hijos de Simeón, se fueron al monte de Seir, llevando por capitanes a Pelatías, a Nearías, a Refaías, y a Uziel, hijos de Isi;

Now some of them, five hundred men of the sons of Simeon, went to Mount Seir, having as their captains Pelatiah, Neariah, Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.

43 e hirieron las reliquias que habían quedado de Amalec, y habitaron allí hasta hoy.

And they defeated the rest of the Amalekites who had escaped. They have dwelt there to this day.
