1 E ntonces juntó Salomón los ancianos de Israel, y a todas las cabezas de las tribus, los príncipes de las familias de los hijos de Israel, al rey Salomón en Jerusalén para traer el arca del pacto del SEÑOR de la ciudad de David, que es Sion.

Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the City of David, which is Zion.

2 Y se juntaron al rey Salomón todos los varones de Israel en el mes de Etanim, que es el mes séptimo, en el día solemne.

Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with King Solomon at the feast in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 Y vinieron todos los ancianos de Israel, y los sacerdotes tomaron el arca.

So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 Y llevaron el arca del SEÑOR, y el tabernáculo del testimonio, y todos los vasos sagrados que estaban en el tabernáculo; los cuales llevaban los sacerdotes y levitas.

Then they brought up the ark of the Lord, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up.

5 Y el rey Salomón, y toda la congregación de Israel que a él se había juntado, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando ovejas y bueyes, que por la multitud no se podían contar ni numerar.

Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

6 Y los sacerdotes metieron el arca del pacto del SEÑOR en su lugar, en el oráculo de la Casa, en el lugar santísimo, debajo de las alas de los querubines.

Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim.

7 P orque los querubines tenían extendidas las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y así cubrían los querubines el arca y sus varas por encima.

For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles.

8 E hicieron salir las varas; que las cabezas de las varas se dejaban ver desde el lugar santo delante del oráculo, mas no se veían desde afuera; y así se quedaron hasta hoy.

The poles extended so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day.

9 E n el arca ninguna cosa había además de las dos tablas de piedra que había allí puesto Moisés en Horeb, cuando el SEÑOR cortó un pacto con los hijos de Israel, cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Y cuando los sacerdotes salieron del lugar santo, la nube llenó la Casa del SEÑOR.

And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,

11 Y los sacerdotes no pudieron estar para ministrar por causa de la nube; porque la gloria del SEÑOR había llenado la Casa del SEÑOR.

so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

12 E ntonces dijo Salomón: El SEÑOR ha dicho que él habitaría en la oscuridad.

Then Solomon spoke: “The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.

13 Y o he edificado casa por morada para ti, asiento en que tú habites para siempre.

I have surely built You an exalted house, And a place for You to dwell in forever.” Solomon’s Speech at Completion of the Work

14 ¶ Y volviendo el rey su rostro, bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel; y toda la congregación de Israel estaba en pie.

Then the king turned around and blessed the whole assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

15 Y dijo: Bendito sea el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, que habló de su boca a David mi padre, y con su mano lo ha cumplido, diciendo:

And he said: “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying,

16 D esde el día que saqué a mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no he escogido ciudad de todas las tribus de Israel para edificar Casa en la cual estuviera mi nombre, aunque escogí a David para que presidiera en mi pueblo Israel.

‘Since the day that I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, that My name might be there; but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

17 Y David mi padre tuvo en el corazón edificar Casa para el nombre del SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

18 M as el SEÑOR dijo a David mi padre: En cuanto a haber tú tenido en el corazón edificar casa a mi nombre, bien has hecho en tener tal voluntad;

But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19 p ero tú no edificarás la Casa, sino tu hijo que saldrá de tus lomos, él edificará Casa a mi nombre.

Nevertheless you shall not build the temple, but your son who will come from your body, he shall build the temple for My name.’

20 Y el SEÑOR ha hecho firme su palabra que había dicho; que me he levantado yo en lugar de David mi padre, y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como el SEÑOR había dicho, y he edificado la Casa para el nombre del SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

So the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised; and I have built a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

21 Y he puesto en ella lugar para el arca, en la cual está el pacto del SEÑOR, que él hizo con nuestros padres cuando los sacó de la tierra de Egipto.

And there I have made a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.” Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication

22 Y se puso Salomón delante del altar del SEÑOR, en presencia de toda la congregación de Israel, y extendiendo sus manos al cielo,

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven;

23 d ijo: SEÑOR Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como tú, ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y la misericordia a tus siervos, los que andan delante de ti de todo su corazón;

and he said: “ Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.

24 q ue has guardado a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le dijiste; lo dijiste con tu boca, y con tu mano lo has cumplido, como lo muestra este día.

You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.

25 A hora pues, el SEÑOR Dios de Israel, cumple a tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: No faltará varón de ti delante de mí, que se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino, que anden delante de mí como tú has andado delante de mí.

Therefore, Lord God of Israel, now keep what You promised Your servant David my father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man sit before Me on the throne of Israel, only if your sons take heed to their way, that they walk before Me as you have walked before Me.’

26 A hora pues, oh Dios de Israel, que sea firme tu palabra que dijiste a tu siervo David mi padre.

And now I pray, O God of Israel, let Your word come true, which You have spoken to Your servant David my father.

27 ¿ Es verdad que Dios haya de morar sobre la tierra? He aquí que los cielos, los cielos de los cielos, no te pueden contener; ¿cuánto menos esta Casa que yo he edificado?

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!

28 C on todo, tú atenderás a la oración de tu siervo, y a su plegaria, oh SEÑOR Dios mío, oyendo el clamor y la oración que tu siervo hace hoy delante de ti;

Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today:

29 q ue estén tus ojos abiertos de noche y de día sobre esta Casa, sobre este lugar del cual has dicho: Mi nombre estará allí; y que oigas la oración que tu siervo hará en este lugar.

that Your eyes may be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.

30 O irás pues la oración de tu siervo, y de tu pueblo Israel; cuando oraren en este lugar, también tú lo oirás en el lugar de tu habitación, desde los cielos; que oigas y perdones.

And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.

31 C uando alguno hubiere pecado contra su prójimo, y le tomaren juramento haciéndole jurar, y viniere el juramento delante de tu altar en esta Casa;

“When anyone sins against his neighbor, and is forced to take an oath, and comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this temple,

32 t ú oirás desde el cielo, y obrarás, y juzgarás a tus siervos, condenando al impío, dando su camino sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo, dándole conforme a su justicia.

then hear in heaven, and act, and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way on his head, and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.

33 C uando tu pueblo Israel hubiere caído delante de sus enemigos, por haber pecado contra ti, y a ti se volvieren, y confesaren tu nombre, y oraren, y te rogaren con humildad en esta Casa;

“When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and when they turn back to You and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this temple,

34 t ú los oirás desde los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tu pueblo Israel, y los volverás a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.

35 C uando el cielo se cerrare, y no haya lluvias, por haber pecado contra ti, y te rogaren en este lugar, y confesaren tu nombre, y se volvieren del pecado, cuando los hubieres afligido;

“When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,

36 t ú oirás en los cielos, y perdonarás el pecado de tus siervos y de tu pueblo Israel, enseñándoles el buen camino en que anden; y darás lluvias sobre tu tierra, la cual diste a tu pueblo por heredad.

then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.

37 C uando en la tierra hubiere hambre, o pestilencia; o hubiere tizoncillo, o niebla; o hubiere langosta, o pulgón; si sus enemigos los tuvieren cercados en la tierra de sus puertas; cualquier plaga o enfermedad que sea;

“When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;

38 t oda oración y toda súplica que hiciere cualquier hombre, o todo tu pueblo Israel, cuando cualquiera sintiere la plaga de su corazón, y extendiere sus manos a esta Casa;

whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this temple:

39 t ú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y perdonarás, y obrarás, y darás a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, cuyo corazón tú conoces (porque sólo tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres);

then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men),

40 p ara que te teman todos los días que vivieren sobre la faz de la tierra que tú diste a nuestros padres.

that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You gave to our fathers.

41 A simismo el extranjero, que no es de tu pueblo Israel, que hubiere venido de lejanas tierras a causa de tu nombre,

“Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for Your name’s sake

42 ( porque habrán oído de tu gran nombre, y de tu mano fuerte, y de tu brazo extendido), y viniere a orar a esta Casa;

(for they will hear of Your great name and Your strong hand and Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this temple,

43 t ú oirás desde los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, y harás conforme a todo aquello por lo cual el extranjero hubiere clamado a ti; para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan tu nombre, y te teman, como tu pueblo Israel, y sepan que tu nombre es invocado sobre esta Casa que yo edifiqué.

hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.

44 S i tu pueblo saliere en batalla contra sus enemigos por el camino que tú los enviares, y oraren al SEÑOR hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste, y hacia la Casa que yo edifiqué para tu nombre,

“When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name,

45 t ú oirás en los cielos su oración y su súplica, y harás su juicio.

then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 S i hubieren pecado contra ti (porque no hay hombre que no peque) y tú estuvieres airado contra ellos, y los entregares delante del enemigo, para que los cautiven y lleven a tierra enemiga, sea lejos o cerca,

“When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 y ellos volvieren a su corazón en la tierra donde fueren cautivos; si volvieren, y oraren a ti en la tierra de los que los cautivaron, y dijeren: Pecamos, hemos hecho iniquidad, hemos cometido impiedad;

yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’;

48 y si se convirtieren a ti de todo su corazón y de toda su alma, en la tierra de sus enemigos que los hubieren llevado cautivos, y oraren a ti hacia su tierra, que tú diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que tú elegiste y la Casa que yo he edificado a tu nombre;

and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name:

49 t ú oirás en los cielos, en la habitación de tu morada, su oración y su súplica, y les harás derecho;

then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause,

50 y perdonarás a tu pueblo que había pecado contra ti, y todas sus rebeliones con que se habrán rebelado contra ti; y harás que hagan con ellos misericordia los que los hubieren llevado cautivos;

and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You; and grant them compassion before those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them

51 p orque ellos son tu pueblo y tu heredad, que tú sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro.

(for they are Your people and Your inheritance, whom You brought out of Egypt, out of the iron furnace),

52 Q ue tus ojos estén abiertos a la oración de tu siervo, y a la plegaria de tu pueblo Israel, para oírlos en todo aquello por lo que te invocaren;

that Your eyes may be open to the supplication of Your servant and the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they call to You.

53 p ues que tú los apartaste para ti por tu heredad de todos los pueblos de la tierra, como lo dijiste por mano de Moisés tu siervo, cuando sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor DIOS.

For You separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be Your inheritance, as You spoke by Your servant Moses, when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.” Solomon Blesses the Assembly

54 Y fue, que cuando acabó Salomón de orar al SEÑOR toda esta oración y súplica, se levantó de estar de rodillas delante del altar del SEÑOR con sus manos extendidas al cielo;

And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 y se puso en pie, y bendijo a toda la congregación de Israel, diciendo en voz alta:

Then he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:

56 B endito sea el SEÑOR, que ha dado reposo a su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que él había dicho; ninguna palabra de todas sus buenas palabras que dijo por Moisés su siervo, ha faltado.

“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.

57 S ea con nosotros el SEÑOR nuestro Dios, como fue con nuestros padres; y no nos desampare, ni nos deje;

May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us,

58 i ncline nuestro corazón hacia él, para que andemos en todos sus caminos, y guardemos sus mandamientos y sus estatutos y sus derechos, los cuales mandó a nuestros padres.

that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers.

59 Y que éstas mis palabras con que he orado delante del SEÑOR estén cerca del SEÑOR nuestro Dios de día y de noche, para que él haga el juicio de su siervo, y de su pueblo Israel, cómo y cuándo la necesidad lo demandare;

And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near the Lord our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day may require,

60 p ara que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que el SEÑOR es Dios, y que no hay otro.

that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other.

61 S ea pues perfecto vuestro corazón para con el SEÑOR nuestro Dios, andando en sus estatutos, y guardando sus mandamientos, como el día de hoy.

Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.” Solomon Dedicates the Temple

62 ¶ Entonces el rey, y todo Israel con él, ofrecieron sacrificios delante del SEÑOR.

Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the Lord.

63 Y ofreció Salomón sacrificios pacíficos, los cuales sacrificó al SEÑOR, que fueron veintidós mil bueyes, y ciento veinte mil ovejas. Así dedicaron el rey y todos los hijos de Israel la Casa del SEÑOR.

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the Lord, twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

64 A quel mismo día santificó el rey el medio del atrio que estaba delante de la Casa del SEÑOR: porque ofreció allí los holocaustos, y los presentes, y los sebos de los pacíficos; por cuanto el altar de bronce que estaba delante del SEÑOR era pequeño, y no cabían en él los holocaustos, y los presentes, y los sebos de los pacíficos.

On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was in front of the house of the Lord; for there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small to receive the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 E n aquel tiempo Salomón hizo fiesta, y con él todo Israel, una gran congregación, desde donde entran en Hamat hasta el río de Egipto, delante del SEÑOR nuestro Dios, por siete días y aun otros siete días, esto es, por catorce días.

At that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seven days and seven more days—fourteen days.

66 Y el octavo día despidió al pueblo; y ellos bendiciendo al rey, se fueron a sus estancias alegres y gozosos de corazón por toda la bondad que el SEÑOR había hecho a David su siervo, y a su pueblo Israel.

On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the good that the Lord had done for His servant David, and for Israel His people.
