1 E ntonces Salomón reunió a los ancianos de Israel, a todos los jefes de las tribus y a los principales de las casas paternas de los Israelitas ante él en Jerusalén, para hacer subir el arca del pacto del Señor de la ciudad de David, la cual es Sion.

Now Solomon assembled the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel, to King Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the City of David, which is Zion.

2 T odos los hombres de Israel se reunieron ante el rey Salomón en la fiesta, en el mes de Etanim, que es el mes séptimo.

Therefore all the men of Israel assembled with King Solomon at the feast in the month of Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 C uando llegaron todos los ancianos de Israel, los sacerdotes alzaron el arca.

So all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 S ubieron el arca del Señor, la tienda de reunión y todos los utensilios sagrados que estaban en la tienda; los sacerdotes y los Levitas los subieron.

Then they brought up the ark of the Lord, the tabernacle of meeting, and all the holy furnishings that were in the tabernacle. The priests and the Levites brought them up.

5 E l rey Salomón y toda la congregación de Israel que estaba reunida ante él, estaban con él delante del arca, sacrificando tantas ovejas y bueyes que no se podían contar ni numerar.

Also King Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen that could not be counted or numbered for multitude.

6 E ntonces los sacerdotes trajeron el arca del pacto del Señor a su lugar, al santuario interior de la casa, al Lugar Santísimo, bajo las alas de los querubines.

Then the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the temple, to the Most Holy Place, under the wings of the cherubim.

7 P orque los querubines extendían las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y los querubines cubrían el arca y sus barras por encima.

For the cherubim spread their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim overshadowed the ark and its poles.

8 P ero las barras eran tan largas que los extremos de las barras se podían ver desde el lugar santo, que estaba delante del santuario interior, pero no se podían ver desde afuera; y allí están hasta hoy.

The poles extended so that the ends of the poles could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And they are there to this day.

9 E n el arca no había más que las dos tablas de piedra que Moisés puso allí en Horeb, donde el Señor hizo pacto con los Israelitas cuando salieron de la tierra de Egipto.

Nothing was in the ark except the two tablets of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 Y sucedió que cuando los sacerdotes salieron del lugar santo, la nube llenó la casa del Señor,

And it came to pass, when the priests came out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,

11 a sí que los sacerdotes no pudieron quedarse a ministrar por causa de la nube, porque la gloria del Señor llenaba la casa del Señor.

so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the Lord filled the house of the Lord.

12 E ntonces Salomón dijo: “El Señor ha dicho que El moraría en la densa nube.

Then Solomon spoke: “The Lord said He would dwell in the dark cloud.

13 C iertamente yo te he edificado una casa majestuosa, Un lugar para Tu morada para siempre.”

I have surely built You an exalted house, And a place for You to dwell in forever.” Solomon’s Speech at Completion of the Work

14 D espués el rey se volvió y bendijo a toda la asamblea de Israel, mientras toda la asamblea de Israel estaba de pie.

Then the king turned around and blessed the whole assembly of Israel, while all the assembly of Israel was standing.

15 L es dijo: “Bendito sea el Señor, Dios de Israel, que habló por Su boca a mi padre David y por Su mano lo ha cumplido, cuando dijo:

And he said: “Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying,

16 ‘ Desde el día en que saqué a Mi pueblo Israel de Egipto, no escogí ninguna ciudad de entre todas las tribus de Israel en la cual edificar una casa para que Mi nombre estuviera allí, pero escogí a David para que estuviera sobre Mi pueblo Israel.’

‘Since the day that I brought My people Israel out of Egypt, I have chosen no city from any tribe of Israel in which to build a house, that My name might be there; but I chose David to be over My people Israel.’

17 Y mi padre David tuvo en su corazón edificar una casa al nombre del Señor, Dios de Israel.

Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

18 P ero el Señor dijo a mi padre David: ‘Por cuanto tuviste en tu corazón edificar una casa a Mi nombre, bien hiciste en desearlo en tu corazón.

But the Lord said to my father David, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a temple for My name, you did well that it was in your heart.

19 S in embargo, tú no edificarás la casa, sino que tu hijo que te nacerá, él edificará la casa a Mi nombre.’

Nevertheless you shall not build the temple, but your son who will come from your body, he shall build the temple for My name.’

20 A hora el Señor ha cumplido la palabra que había dicho, pues yo me he levantado en lugar de mi padre David y me he sentado en el trono de Israel, como el Señor prometió, y he edificado la casa al nombre del Señor, Dios de Israel.

So the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; and I have filled the position of my father David, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised; and I have built a temple for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

21 Y he puesto allí un lugar para el arca, en la cual está el pacto del Señor que El hizo con nuestros padres cuando los trajo de la tierra de Egipto.” Oración de Dedicación del Templo

And there I have made a place for the ark, in which is the covenant of the Lord which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.” Solomon’s Prayer of Dedication

22 E ntonces Salomón se puso delante del altar del Señor en presencia de toda la asamblea de Israel y extendió las manos al cielo.

Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven;

23 Y dijo: “Oh Señor, Dios de Israel, no hay Dios como Tú ni arriba en los cielos ni abajo en la tierra, que guardas el pacto y muestras misericordia a Tus siervos que andan delante de Ti con todo su corazón,

and he said: “ Lord God of Israel, there is no God in heaven above or on earth below like You, who keep Your covenant and mercy with Your servants who walk before You with all their hearts.

24 q ue has cumplido con Tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste; ciertamente has hablado con Tu boca y lo has cumplido con Tu mano como sucede hoy.

You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.

25 A hora pues, oh Señor, Dios de Israel, cumple con Tu siervo David mi padre lo que le prometiste, diciendo: ‘No te faltará quien se siente en el trono de Israel, con tal que tus hijos guarden su camino para andar delante de Mí como tú has andado delante de Mí.’

Therefore, Lord God of Israel, now keep what You promised Your servant David my father, saying, ‘You shall not fail to have a man sit before Me on the throne of Israel, only if your sons take heed to their way, that they walk before Me as you have walked before Me.’

26 A hora pues, oh Dios de Israel, Te ruego que se cumpla Tu palabra que hablaste a Tu siervo, mi padre David.

And now I pray, O God of Israel, let Your word come true, which You have spoken to Your servant David my father.

27 P ero, ¿morará verdaderamente Dios sobre la tierra? Si los cielos y los cielos de los cielos no Te pueden contener, cuánto menos esta casa que yo he edificado.

“But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain You. How much less this temple which I have built!

28 N o obstante, atiende a la oración de Tu siervo y a su súplica, oh Señor Dios mío, para que oigas el clamor y la oración que Tu siervo hace hoy delante de Ti;

Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You today:

29 q ue Tus ojos estén abiertos noche y día hacia esta casa, hacia el lugar del cual has dicho: ‘Mi nombre estará allí,’ para que oigas la oración que Tu siervo haga hacia este lugar.

that Your eyes may be open toward this temple night and day, toward the place of which You said, ‘My name shall be there,’ that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes toward this place.

30 Y escucha la súplica de Tu siervo y de Tu pueblo Israel cuando oren hacia este lugar; escucha Tú en el lugar de Tu morada, en los cielos; escucha y perdona.

And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive.

31 “ Si alguien peca contra su prójimo y se le exige juramento, y viene y jura delante de Tu altar en esta casa,

“When anyone sins against his neighbor, and is forced to take an oath, and comes and takes an oath before Your altar in this temple,

32 e scucha Tú desde los cielos y obra y juzga a Tus siervos, condenando al impío haciendo recaer su conducta sobre su cabeza, y justificando al justo dándole conforme a su justicia.

then hear in heaven, and act, and judge Your servants, condemning the wicked, bringing his way on his head, and justifying the righteous by giving him according to his righteousness.

33 “ Cuando Tu pueblo Israel sea derrotado delante de un enemigo por haber pecado contra Ti, si se vuelven a Ti y confiesan Tu nombre, y oran y Te hacen súplica en esta casa,

“When Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and when they turn back to You and confess Your name, and pray and make supplication to You in this temple,

34 e scucha Tú desde los cielos y perdona el pecado de Tu pueblo Israel, y hazlos volver a la tierra que diste a sus padres.

then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land which You gave to their fathers.

35 “ Cuando los cielos estén cerrados y no haya lluvia por haber ellos pecado contra Ti, y oren hacia este lugar y confiesen Tu nombre, y se vuelvan de su pecado cuando Tú los aflijas,

“When the heavens are shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against You, when they pray toward this place and confess Your name, and turn from their sin because You afflict them,

36 e scucha Tú desde los cielos y perdona el pecado de Tus siervos y de Tu pueblo Israel; sí, enséñales el buen camino por el que deben andar. Y envía lluvia sobre Tu tierra, la que diste a Tu pueblo por heredad.

then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of Your servants, Your people Israel, that You may teach them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain on Your land which You have given to Your people as an inheritance.

37 “ Si hay hambre en la tierra, si hay pestilencia, si hay pestes o plagas, langosta o saltamontes, si su enemigo los sitia en la tierra de sus ciudades, cualquier plaga, cualquier enfermedad que haya,

“When there is famine in the land, pestilence or blight or mildew, locusts or grasshoppers; when their enemy besieges them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is;

38 t oda oración o toda súplica que sea hecha por cualquier hombre o por todo Tu pueblo Israel, conociendo cada cual la aflicción de su corazón, y extendiendo sus manos hacia esta casa;

whatever prayer, whatever supplication is made by anyone, or by all Your people Israel, when each one knows the plague of his own heart, and spreads out his hands toward this temple:

39 e scucha Tú desde los cielos, el lugar de Tu morada, y perdona, actúa y da a cada uno conforme a todos sus caminos, ya que conoces su corazón, porque sólo Tú conoces el corazón de todos los hijos de los hombres,

then hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to everyone according to all his ways, whose heart You know (for You alone know the hearts of all the sons of men),

40 p ara que Te teman (reverencien) todos los días que vivan sobre la superficie de la tierra que diste a nuestros padres.

that they may fear You all the days that they live in the land which You gave to our fathers.

41 “ También en cuanto al extranjero que no es de Tu pueblo Israel, cuando venga de una tierra lejana a causa de Tu nombre

“Moreover, concerning a foreigner, who is not of Your people Israel, but has come from a far country for Your name’s sake

42 ( porque oirán de Tu gran nombre, de Tu mano poderosa y de Tu brazo extendido); cuando venga a orar a esta casa,

(for they will hear of Your great name and Your strong hand and Your outstretched arm), when he comes and prays toward this temple,

43 e scucha Tú desde los cielos, el lugar de Tu morada, y haz conforme a todo lo que el extranjero Te pida. Para que todos los pueblos de la tierra conozcan Tu nombre para que Te teman, como Te teme Tu pueblo Israel, y para que sepan que Tu nombre es invocado sobre esta casa que he edificado.

hear in heaven Your dwelling place, and do according to all for which the foreigner calls to You, that all peoples of the earth may know Your name and fear You, as do Your people Israel, and that they may know that this temple which I have built is called by Your name.

44 “ Cuando Tu pueblo salga a la batalla contra su enemigo, por cualquier camino que Tú los envíes, y oren al Señor vueltos hacia la ciudad que Tú has escogido y hacia la casa que he edificado a Tu nombre,

“When Your people go out to battle against their enemy, wherever You send them, and when they pray to the Lord toward the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name,

45 e scucha desde los cielos su oración y su súplica, y hazles justicia.

then hear in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 “ Cuando pequen contra Ti (pues no hay hombre que no peque ) y estés lleno de ira contra ellos, y los entregues delante del enemigo, y éstos los lleven cautivos a la tierra del enemigo, lejos o cerca,

“When they sin against You (for there is no one who does not sin), and You become angry with them and deliver them to the enemy, and they take them captive to the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 s i recapacitan en la tierra adonde hayan sido llevados cautivos, y se arrepienten y Te hacen súplica en la tierra de los que los llevaron cautivos, diciendo: ‘Hemos pecado y hemos cometido iniquidad, hemos obrado perversamente,’

yet when they come to themselves in the land where they were carried captive, and repent, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned and done wrong, we have committed wickedness’;

48 s i se vuelven a Ti con todo su corazón y con toda su alma en la tierra de sus enemigos que los llevaron cautivos, y oran a Ti vueltos hacia la tierra que diste a sus padres, hacia la ciudad que has escogido, y hacia la casa que he edificado a Tu nombre,

and when they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name:

49 e ntonces escucha Tú desde los cielos, el lugar de Tu morada, su oración y su súplica y hazles justicia.

then hear in heaven Your dwelling place their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause,

50 P erdona a Tu pueblo que ha pecado contra Ti, todas las transgresiones que hayan cometido contra Ti, y hazlos objeto de compasión ante los que los llevaron cautivos, para que tengan compasión de ellos

and forgive Your people who have sinned against You, and all their transgressions which they have transgressed against You; and grant them compassion before those who took them captive, that they may have compassion on them

51 ( porque ellos son Tu pueblo y Tu heredad que sacaste de Egipto, de en medio del horno de hierro ).

(for they are Your people and Your inheritance, whom You brought out of Egypt, out of the iron furnace),

52 “ Que Tus ojos estén abiertos a la súplica de Tu siervo y a la súplica de Tu pueblo Israel, para escucharlos siempre que Te invoquen.

that Your eyes may be open to the supplication of Your servant and the supplication of Your people Israel, to listen to them whenever they call to You.

53 P ues Tú los has separado de entre todos los pueblos de la tierra como Tu heredad, como lo dijiste por medio de Tu siervo Moisés, cuando sacaste a nuestros padres de Egipto, oh Señor Dios.”

For You separated them from among all the peoples of the earth to be Your inheritance, as You spoke by Your servant Moses, when You brought our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.” Solomon Blesses the Assembly

54 C uando Salomón terminó de decir toda esta oración y súplica al Señor, se levantó de delante del altar del Señor, de estar de rodillas con sus manos extendidas hacia el cielo.

And so it was, when Solomon had finished praying all this prayer and supplication to the Lord, that he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 Y se puso de pie y bendijo a toda la asamblea de Israel en alta voz, diciendo:

Then he stood and blessed all the assembly of Israel with a loud voice, saying:

56 “ Bendito sea el Señor, que ha dado reposo a Su pueblo Israel, conforme a todo lo que prometió. Ninguna palabra ha fallado de toda Su buena promesa que hizo por medio de Su siervo Moisés.

“Blessed be the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses.

57 Q ue el Señor nuestro Dios esté con nosotros, como estuvo con nuestros padres; que no nos deje ni nos abandone,

May the Lord our God be with us, as He was with our fathers. May He not leave us nor forsake us,

58 p ara que incline nuestro corazón hacia El, para que andemos en todos Sus caminos y para que guardemos Sus mandamientos, Sus estatutos y Sus preceptos que ordenó a nuestros padres.

that He may incline our hearts to Himself, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments and His statutes and His judgments, which He commanded our fathers.

59 Q ue estas palabras mías, con las que he suplicado delante del Señor, estén cerca del Señor nuestro Dios día y noche, para que El haga justicia a Su siervo y justicia a Su pueblo Israel, según las necesidades de cada día,

And may these words of mine, with which I have made supplication before the Lord, be near the Lord our God day and night, that He may maintain the cause of His servant and the cause of His people Israel, as each day may require,

60 a fin de que todos los pueblos de la tierra sepan que el Señor es Dios; no hay otro.

that all the peoples of the earth may know that the Lord is God; there is no other.

61 E stén, pues, los corazones de ustedes enteramente dedicados al Señor nuestro Dios, para que andemos en Sus estatutos y guardemos Sus mandamientos, como en este día.”

Let your heart therefore be loyal to the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.” Solomon Dedicates the Temple

62 E ntonces el rey y todo Israel con él ofrecieron sacrificios delante del Señor.

Then the king and all Israel with him offered sacrifices before the Lord.

63 Y Salomón ofreció al Señor como sacrificio de las ofrendas de paz, 22, 000 bueyes y 120, 000 ovejas. Así dedicaron la casa del Señor, el rey y todos los Israelitas.

And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the Lord, twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

64 A quel día el rey consagró la parte central del atrio que estaba delante de la casa del Señor, pues allí ofreció el holocausto, la ofrenda de cereal y la grasa de las ofrendas de paz; porque el altar de bronce que estaba delante del Señor era demasiado pequeño para contener el holocausto, la ofrenda de cereal y la grasa de las ofrendas de paz.

On the same day the king consecrated the middle of the court that was in front of the house of the Lord; for there he offered burnt offerings, grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings, because the bronze altar that was before the Lord was too small to receive the burnt offerings, the grain offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 A sí Salomón celebró la fiesta en aquella ocasión, y todo Israel con él, una gran asamblea desde la entrada de Hamat hasta el torrente de Egipto, delante del Señor nuestro Dios, por siete días y siete días más, o sea catorce días.

At that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great assembly from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seven days and seven more days—fourteen days.

66 A l octavo día despidió al pueblo. Ellos bendijeron al rey, y se fueron a sus tiendas gozosos y alegres de corazón por todo el bien que el Señor había mostrado a Su siervo David y a Su pueblo Israel.

On the eighth day he sent the people away; and they blessed the king, and went to their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the good that the Lord had done for His servant David, and for Israel His people.
