1 C uando se acercaron a Jerusalén y llegaron a Betfagé, junto al Monte de los Olivos, Jesús entonces envió a dos discípulos,

Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

2 d iciéndoles: “Vayan a la aldea que está enfrente de ustedes, y enseguida encontrarán un asna atada y un pollino con ella; desáten la y tráigan los a Mí.

saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me.

3 Y si alguien les dice algo, digan: ‘El Señor los necesita;’ y enseguida los enviará.”

And if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord has need of them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

4 E sto sucedió para que se cumpliera lo que fue dicho por medio del profeta, cuando dijo:

All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

5 “ Digan a la hija de Sion: ‘ Mira, tu Rey viene a ti, humilde y montado en un asna, y en un pollino, hijo de bestia de carga.’”

“Tell the daughter of Zion, ‘Behold, your King is coming to you, Lowly, and sitting on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

6 E ntonces fueron los discípulos e hicieron tal como Jesús les había mandado,

So the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them.

7 y trajeron el asna y el pollino. Pusieron sobre ellos sus mantos y Jesús se sentó encima.

They brought the donkey and the colt, laid their clothes on them, and set Him on them.

8 L a mayoría de la multitud tendió sus mantos en el camino; otros cortaban ramas de los árboles y las tendían por el camino.

And a very great multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

9 Y las multitudes que iban delante de El y las que iban detrás, gritaban: “¡Hosanna al Hijo de David! ¡ Bendito Aquel que viene en el nombre del Señor! ¡Hosanna en las alturas!”

Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the L ord!’ Hosanna in the highest!”

10 C uando Jesús entró en Jerusalén, toda la ciudad se agitó, y decían: “¿Quién es Este?”

And when He had come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, “Who is this?”

11 Y las multitudes contestaban: “Este es el profeta Jesús, de Nazaret de Galilea.” Jesús Echa a los Mercaderes del Templo

So the multitudes said, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee.” Jesus Cleanses the Temple

12 J esús entró en el templo y echó fuera a todos los que compraban y vendían en el templo. También volcó las mesas de los que cambiaban el dinero y los asientos de los que vendían las palomas.

Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves.

13 Y les dijo: “Escrito está, ‘ Mi casa sera llamada casa de oracion,’ pero ustedes la están haciendo cueva de ladrones.”

And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”

14 E n el templo se acercaron a El los ciegos y los cojos, y los sanó.

Then the blind and the lame came to Him in the temple, and He healed them.

15 P ero cuando los principales sacerdotes y los escribas vieron las maravillas que había hecho, y a los muchachos que gritaban en el templo y decían: “¡Hosanna al Hijo de David!” se indignaron.

But when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that He did, and the children crying out in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant

16 Y Le dijeron: “¿Oyes lo que éstos dicen?” Y Jesús les respondió: “Sí, ¿nunca han leído: ‘ De la boca de los pequeños y de los niños de pecho te has preparado alabanza ?’”

and said to Him, “Do You hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes. Have you never read, ‘Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise’?”

17 Y dejándolos, salió fuera de la ciudad, a Betania, y se hospedó allí. La Higuera Estéril

Then He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and He lodged there. The Fig Tree Withered

18 P or la mañana, cuando regresaba a la ciudad (Jerusalén), Jesús tuvo hambre.

Now in the morning, as He returned to the city, He was hungry.

19 Y al ver una higuera junto al camino, se acercó a ella, pero no halló nada en ella sino sólo hojas, y le dijo: “Nunca jamás brote fruto de ti.” Y al instante se secó la higuera.

And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again.” Immediately the fig tree withered away. The Lesson of the Withered Fig Tree

20 L os discípulos se maravillaron al ver esto, y decían: “¿Cómo es que la higuera se secó al instante?”

And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, “How did the fig tree wither away so soon?”

21 J esús les respondió: “En verdad les digo que si tienen fe y no dudan, no sólo harán lo de la higuera, sino que aun si dicen a este monte: ‘Quítate y échate al mar,’ así sucederá.

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ it will be done.

22 Y todo lo que pidan en oración, creyendo, lo recibirán.” La Autoridad de Jesús Puesta en Duda

And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” Jesus’ Authority Questioned

23 C uando Jesús llegó al templo, los principales sacerdotes y los ancianos del pueblo se acercaron a El mientras enseñaba, diciendo: “¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas, y quién Te dio esta autoridad?”

Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”

24 Y Jesús les respondió: “Yo también les haré una pregunta, que si Me la contestan, Yo también les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.

But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things:

25 ¿ De dónde era el bautismo de Juan, del cielo o de los hombres?” Y ellos discutían entre sí, diciendo: “Si decimos: ‘Del cielo,’ El nos dirá: ‘Entonces, ¿por qué no le creyeron?’

The baptism of John—where was it from? From heaven or from men?” And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ He will say to us, ‘Why then did you not believe him?’

26 Y si decimos: ‘De los hombres,’ tememos a la multitud; porque todos tienen a Juan por profeta.”

But if we say, ‘From men,’ we fear the multitude, for all count John as a prophet.”

27 Y respondieron a Jesús: “No lo sabemos.” El a su vez les dijo: “Tampoco Yo les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.

So they answered Jesus and said, “We do not know.” And He said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things. The Parable of the Two Sons

28 “ Pero, ¿qué les parece? Un hombre tenía dos hijos, y llegándose al primero, le dijo: ‘Hijo, ve, trabaja hoy en la viña.’

“But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go, work today in my vineyard.’

29 Y él respondió: ‘No quiero;’ pero después, arrepentido, fue.

He answered and said, ‘I will not,’ but afterward he regretted it and went.

30 L legándose al otro, le dijo lo mismo; y éste respondió: ‘Yo iré, señor;’ pero no fue.

Then he came to the second and said likewise. And he answered and said, ‘I go, sir,’ but he did not go.

31 ¿ Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad del padre?” “El primero,” respondieron ellos. Jesús les dijo: “En verdad les digo que los recaudadores de impuestos y las rameras entran en el reino de Dios antes que ustedes.

Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said to Him, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you that tax collectors and harlots enter the kingdom of God before you.

32 P orque Juan vino a ustedes en camino de justicia y no le creyeron, pero los recaudadores de impuestos y las rameras le creyeron; y ustedes, viendo esto, ni siquiera se arrepintieron después para creerle. Parábola de los Labradores Malvados

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him; but tax collectors and harlots believed him; and when you saw it, you did not afterward relent and believe him. The Parable of the Wicked Vinedressers

33 “ Escuchen otra parábola. Había una vez un hacendado que planto una viña y la cerco con un muro, y cavo en ella un lagar y edifico una torre, la arrendó a unos labradores y se fue de viaje.

“Hear another parable: There was a certain landowner who planted a vineyard and set a hedge around it, dug a winepress in it and built a tower. And he leased it to vinedressers and went into a far country.

34 C uando se acercó el tiempo de la cosecha, envió sus siervos a los labradores para recibir sus frutos.

Now when vintage-time drew near, he sent his servants to the vinedressers, that they might receive its fruit.

35 P ero los labradores, tomando a los siervos, a uno lo golpearon, a otro lo mataron y a otro lo apedrearon.

And the vinedressers took his servants, beat one, killed one, and stoned another.

36 V olvió a mandar otro grupo de siervos, mayor que el primero; y les hicieron lo mismo.

Again he sent other servants, more than the first, and they did likewise to them.

37 F inalmente les envió a su hijo, diciendo: ‘Respetarán a mi hijo.’

Then last of all he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

38 P ero cuando los labradores vieron al hijo, dijeron entre sí: ‘Este es el heredero; vengan, matémoslo y apoderémonos de su heredad.’

But when the vinedressers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’

39 Y echándole mano, lo arrojaron fuera de la viña y lo mataron.

So they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and killed him.

40 C uando venga, pues, el dueño de la viña, ¿qué hará a esos labradores?”

“Therefore, when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vinedressers?”

41 E llos respondieron: “Llevará a esos miserables a un fin lamentable, y arrendará la viña a otros labradores que le paguen los frutos a su tiempo.”

They said to Him, “He will destroy those wicked men miserably, and lease his vineyard to other vinedressers who will render to him the fruits in their seasons.”

42 J esús les dijo: “¿Nunca leyeron en las Escrituras: ‘ La piedra que desecharon los constructores, esa, en piedra angular se ha convertido; esto fue hecho de parte del Señor, y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos ’?

Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures: ‘The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone. This was the Lord ’s doing, And it is marvelous in our eyes’?

43 P or eso les digo que el reino de Dios les será quitado a ustedes y será dado a una nación que produzca los frutos del reino.

“Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.

44 Y el que caiga sobre esta piedra será hecho pedazos; pero sobre quien ella caiga, lo esparcirá como polvo.”

And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”

45 A l oír las parábolas de Jesús los principales sacerdotes y los Fariseos, comprendieron que El hablaba de ellos.

Now when the chief priests and Pharisees heard His parables, they perceived that He was speaking of them.

46 Y cuando procuraron prender a Jesús, tuvieron miedo de la multitud, porque ellos Lo tenían por profeta.

But when they sought to lay hands on Him, they feared the multitudes, because they took Him for a prophet.
