1 E ntonces Dios se acordó de Noé y de todas las bestias y de todo el ganado que estaban con él en el arca. Y Dios hizo pasar un viento sobre la tierra y decrecieron las aguas.

Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.

2 L as fuentes del abismo y las compuertas del cielo se cerraron, y se detuvo la lluvia del cielo.

The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were also stopped, and the rain from heaven was restrained.

3 L as aguas bajaron (se retiraron) gradualmente de sobre la tierra, y después de 150 días, las aguas habían disminuido.

And the waters receded continually from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters decreased.

4 Y en el día diecisiete del mes séptimo, el arca descansó sobre los montes de Ararat.

Then the ark rested in the seventh month, the seventeenth day of the month, on the mountains of Ararat.

5 L as aguas fueron decreciendo lentamente hasta el mes décimo; y el día primero del mes décimo, se vieron las cimas de los montes.

And the waters decreased continually until the tenth month. In the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

6 D espués de cuarenta días, Noé abrió la ventana del arca que él había hecho,

So it came to pass, at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made.

7 y envió un cuervo, que estuvo yendo y viniendo hasta ver que se secaran las aguas sobre la tierra.

Then he sent out a raven, which kept going to and fro until the waters had dried up from the earth.

8 D espués envió una paloma para ver si las aguas habían disminuido sobre la superficie de la tierra.

He also sent out from himself a dove, to see if the waters had receded from the face of the ground.

9 P ero la paloma no encontró lugar donde posarse, de modo que volvió a él, al arca, porque las aguas estaban sobre la superficie de toda la tierra. Entonces Noé extendió la mano, la tomó y la metió consigo en el arca.

But the dove found no resting place for the sole of her foot, and she returned into the ark to him, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took her, and drew her into the ark to himself.

10 E speró aún otros siete días, y volvió a enviar la paloma desde el arca.

And he waited yet another seven days, and again he sent the dove out from the ark.

11 H acia el atardecer la paloma regresó a él, trayendo en su pico una hoja de olivo recién arrancada. Entonces Noé comprendió que las aguas habían disminuido sobre la tierra.

Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.

12 E speró aún otros siete días y envió de nuevo la paloma, pero ya no volvió más a él. Noé Sale del Arca

So he waited yet another seven days and sent out the dove, which did not return again to him anymore.

13 Y aconteció que en el año 601 de Noé, en el mes primero, el día primero del mes, se secaron las aguas sobre la tierra. Entonces Noé quitó la cubierta del arca y vio que la superficie de la tierra estaba seca.

And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, that the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark and looked, and indeed the surface of the ground was dry.

14 E n el mes segundo, el día veintisiete del mes, la tierra estaba seca.

And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dried.

15 E ntonces dijo Dios a Noé:

Then God spoke to Noah, saying,

16 “ Sal del arca tú, y contigo tu mujer, tus hijos y las mujeres de tus hijos.

“Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you.

17 S aca contigo todo ser viviente de toda carne que está contigo: aves, ganados y todo reptil que se arrastra sobre la tierra, para que se reproduzcan en abundancia sobre la tierra, y sean fecundos y se multipliquen sobre la tierra.”

Bring out with you every living thing of all flesh that is with you: birds and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.”

18 S alió, pues, Noé, y con él sus hijos y su mujer y las mujeres de sus hijos.

So Noah went out, and his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives with him.

19 T ambién salieron del arca todas las bestias, todos los reptiles, todas las aves y todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra, cada uno según su especie.

Every animal, every creeping thing, every bird, and whatever creeps on the earth, according to their families, went out of the ark. God’s Covenant with Creation

20 E ntonces Noé edificó un altar al Señor, y tomó de todo animal limpio y de toda ave limpia, y ofreció holocaustos en el altar.

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21 E l Señor percibió el aroma agradable, y dijo el Señor para sí: “Nunca más volveré a maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre, porque la intención del corazón del hombre es mala desde su juventud. Nunca más volveré a destruir todo ser viviente como lo he hecho.

And the Lord smelled a soothing aroma. Then the Lord said in His heart, “I will never again curse the ground for man’s sake, although the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; nor will I again destroy every living thing as I have done.

22 M ientras la tierra permanezca, La siembra y la siega, El frío y el calor, El verano y el invierno, El día y la noche, Nunca cesarán.”

“While the earth remains, Seedtime and harvest, Cold and heat, Winter and summer, And day and night Shall not cease.”
