1 E ntonces estos tres hombres dejaron de responder a Job porque él era justo a sus propios ojos.

So these three men ceased answering Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 P ero se encendió la ira de Eliú, hijo de Baraquel el Buzita, de la familia de Ram. Se encendió su ira contra Job porque se justificaba delante de Dios.

Then the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was aroused against Job; his wrath was aroused because he justified himself rather than God.

3 S u ira se encendió también contra sus tres amigos porque no habían hallado respuesta, y sin embargo habían condenado a Job.

Also against his three friends his wrath was aroused, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

4 E liú había esperado para hablar a Job porque los otros eran de más edad que él.

Now because they were years older than he, Elihu had waited to speak to Job.

5 P ero cuando vio Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de los tres hombres, se encendió su ira.

When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was aroused.

6 Y respondió Eliú, hijo de Baraquel el Buzita, y dijo: “Yo soy joven, y ustedes ancianos; Por eso tenía timidez y me atemorizaba declararles lo que pienso.

So Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, answered and said: “I am young in years, and you are very old; Therefore I was afraid, And dared not declare my opinion to you.

7 Y o pensé que los días hablarían, Y los muchos años enseñarían sabiduría.

I said, ‘Age should speak, And multitude of years should teach wisdom.’

8 P ero hay un espíritu en el hombre, Y el soplo del Todopoderoso (Shaddai) le da entendimiento.

But there is a spirit in man, And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.

9 L os de muchos años quizá no sean sabios, Ni los ancianos entiendan justicia.

Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand justice.

10 P or eso digo: ‘Escúchenme, También yo declararé lo que pienso.’

“Therefore I say, ‘Listen to me, I also will declare my opinion.’

11 Y o esperé sus palabras, Escuché sus argumentos, Mientras buscaban qué decir;

Indeed I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, while you searched out what to say.

12 L es presté además mucha atención. Pero no hubo ninguno que pudiera contradecir a Job, Ninguno de ustedes que respondiera a sus palabras.

I paid close attention to you; And surely not one of you convinced Job, Or answered his words—

13 N o digan: ‘Hemos hallado sabiduría; Dios lo derrotará, no el hombre.’

Lest you say, ‘We have found wisdom’; God will vanquish him, not man.

14 P ero él no ha dirigido sus palabras contra mí, Ni yo le responderé con los argumentos de ustedes.

Now he has not directed his words against me; So I will not answer him with your words.

15 E stán desconcertados, ya no responden; Les han faltado las palabras.

“They are dismayed and answer no more; Words escape them.

16 ¿ Y he de esperar porque no hablan, Porque se detienen y ya no responden?

And I have waited, because they did not speak, Because they stood still and answered no more.

17 Y o también responderé mi parte, Yo también declararé lo que pienso.

I also will answer my part, I too will declare my opinion.

18 P orque estoy lleno de palabras; Dentro de mí el espíritu me constriñe.

For I am full of words; The spirit within me compels me.

19 M i vientre es como vino sin respiradero, Está a punto de reventar como odres nuevos.

Indeed my belly is like wine that has no vent; It is ready to burst like new wineskins.

20 D éjenme hablar para que encuentre alivio, Déjenme abrir los labios y responder.

I will speak, that I may find relief; I must open my lips and answer.

21 Q ue no haga yo acepción de persona, Ni use lisonja con nadie.

Let me not, I pray, show partiality to anyone; Nor let me flatter any man.

22 P orque no sé lisonjear, De otra manera mi Hacedor me llevaría pronto.

For I do not know how to flatter, Else my Maker would soon take me away.
