1 Y la palabra del Señor vino a Jehú, hijo de Hananí, contra Baasa:

Then the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanani, against Baasha, saying:

2 “ Yo te levanté del polvo y te hice príncipe sobre Mi pueblo Israel, y has andado en el camino de Jeroboam, y has hecho pecar a Mi pueblo Israel provocándome a ira con sus pecados.

“Inasmuch as I lifted you out of the dust and made you ruler over My people Israel, and you have walked in the way of Jeroboam, and have made My people Israel sin, to provoke Me to anger with their sins,

3 P or tanto, consumiré a Baasa y a su casa, y haré su casa como la casa de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat.

surely I will take away the posterity of Baasha and the posterity of his house, and I will make your house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat.

4 E l que de Baasa muera en la ciudad, se lo comerán los perros, y el que de él muera en el campo, se lo comerán las aves del cielo.”

The dogs shall eat whoever belongs to Baasha and dies in the city, and the birds of the air shall eat whoever dies in the fields.”

5 L os demás hechos de Baasa, lo que hizo y su poderío, ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

Now the rest of the acts of Baasha, what he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

6 Y durmió Baasa con sus padres y fue sepultado en Tirsa; y su hijo Ela reinó en su lugar.

So Baasha rested with his fathers and was buried in Tirzah. Then Elah his son reigned in his place.

7 T ambién, la palabra del Señor vino por medio del profeta Jehú, hijo de Hananí, contra Baasa y su casa, no sólo por todo el mal que hizo ante los ojos del Señor, provocándolo a ira con la obra de sus manos, siendo semejante a la casa de Jeroboam, sino también por haber destruido a ésta. Reinados de Ela, Zimri y Omri

And also the word of the Lord came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and his house, because of all the evil that he did in the sight of the Lord in provoking Him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he killed them. Elah Reigns in Israel

8 E n el año veintiséis de Asa, rey de Judá, Ela, hijo de Baasa, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en Tirsa y reinó dos años.

In the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah, Elah the son of Baasha became king over Israel, and reigned two years in Tirzah.

9 Y su siervo Zimri, jefe de la mitad de sus carros, conspiró contra él. Y Ela estaba en Tirsa bebiendo hasta emborracharse en la casa de Arsa, que era mayordomo de la casa en Tirsa.

Now his servant Zimri, commander of half his chariots, conspired against him as he was in Tirzah drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, steward of his house in Tirzah.

10 E ntonces Zimri entró, lo hirió, y le dio muerte en el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, y reinó en su lugar.

And Zimri went in and struck him and killed him in the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his place.

11 Y sucedió que cuando comenzó a reinar, tan pronto como se sentó en su trono, mató a toda la casa de Baasa; no dejó ni un solo varón, ni de sus parientes ni de sus amigos.

Then it came to pass, when he began to reign, as soon as he was seated on his throne, that he killed all the household of Baasha; he did not leave him one male, neither of his relatives nor of his friends.

12 A sí Zimri destruyó toda la casa de Baasa, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado contra Baasa por medio del profeta Jehú,

Thus Zimri destroyed all the household of Baasha, according to the word of the Lord, which He spoke against Baasha by Jehu the prophet,

13 p or todos los pecados de Baasa y por los pecados de su hijo Ela, con los cuales pecaron y con los que hicieron pecar a Israel, provocando a ira con sus ídolos al Señor, Dios de Israel.

for all the sins of Baasha and the sins of Elah his son, by which they had sinned and by which they had made Israel sin, in provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their idols.

14 L os demás hechos de Ela y todo lo que hizo, ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

Now the rest of the acts of Elah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? Zimri Reigns in Israel

15 E n el año veintisiete de Asa, rey de Judá, Zimri reinó siete días en Tirsa. Y el pueblo estaba acampado contra Gibetón, que pertenecía a los Filisteos.

In the twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah, Zimri had reigned in Tirzah seven days. And the people were encamped against Gibbethon, which belonged to the Philistines.

16 E l pueblo que estaba acampado oyó decir: “Zimri ha conspirado y también ha matado al rey.” Entonces, ese mismo día en el campamento, todo Israel hizo a Omri, jefe del ejército, rey sobre Israel.

Now the people who were encamped heard it said, “Zimri has conspired and also has killed the king.” So all Israel made Omri, the commander of the army, king over Israel that day in the camp.

17 E ntonces Omri subió desde Gibetón, y todo Israel con él, y sitiaron a Tirsa.

Then Omri and all Israel with him went up from Gibbethon, and they besieged Tirzah.

18 C uando Zimri vio que la ciudad era tomada, entró en la ciudadela de la casa del rey, prendió fuego a la casa del rey y murió,

And it happened, when Zimri saw that the city was taken, that he went into the citadel of the king’s house and burned the king’s house down upon himself with fire, and died,

19 a causa de los pecados que había cometido, haciendo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, andando en el camino de Jeroboam, y por el pecado que cometió, haciendo pecar a Israel.

because of the sins which he had committed in doing evil in the sight of the Lord, in walking in the way of Jeroboam, and in his sin which he had committed to make Israel sin.

20 L os demás hechos de Zimri, y la conspiración que llevó a cabo, ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

Now the rest of the acts of Zimri, and the treason he committed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? Omri Reigns in Israel

21 E ntonces el pueblo de Israel se dividió en dos partes: la mitad del pueblo siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat, para hacerlo rey; la otra mitad siguió a Omri.

Then the people of Israel were divided into two parts: half of the people followed Tibni the son of Ginath, to make him king, and half followed Omri.

22 P ero el pueblo que siguió a Omri prevaleció sobre el pueblo que siguió a Tibni, hijo de Ginat. Y Tibni murió, y Omri comenzó a reinar.

But the people who followed Omri prevailed over the people who followed Tibni the son of Ginath. So Tibni died and Omri reigned.

23 E n el año treinta y uno de Asa, rey de Judá, Omri comenzó a reinar sobre Israel, y reinó doce años; seis años reinó en Tirsa.

In the thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah, Omri became king over Israel, and reigned twelve years. Six years he reigned in Tirzah.

24 Y compró a Semer el Monte Samaria por 68 kilos de plata; edificó sobre el monte, y a la ciudad que edificó puso por nombre Samaria, del nombre de Semer, dueño del monte.

And he bought the hill of Samaria from Shemer for two talents of silver; then he built on the hill, and called the name of the city which he built, Samaria, after the name of Shemer, owner of the hill.

25 O mri hizo lo malo ante los ojos del Señor, y obró más perversamente que todos los que fueron antes que él;

Omri did evil in the eyes of the Lord, and did worse than all who were before him.

26 p ues anduvo en todos los caminos de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, y en los pecados con que hizo pecar a Israel, provocando al Señor, Dios de Israel, con sus ídolos.

For he walked in all the ways of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and in his sin by which he had made Israel sin, provoking the Lord God of Israel to anger with their idols.

27 L os demás hechos que Omri hizo y el poderío que mostró ¿no están escritos en el Libro de las Crónicas de los reyes de Israel ?

Now the rest of the acts of Omri which he did, and the might that he showed, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

28 Y durmió Omri con sus padres y fue sepultado en Samaria; y su hijo Acab reinó en su lugar. Reinado de Acab

So Omri rested with his fathers and was buried in Samaria. Then Ahab his son reigned in his place. Ahab Reigns in Israel

29 A cab, hijo de Omri, comenzó a reinar sobre Israel en el año treinta y ocho de Asa, rey de Judá, y Acab, hijo de Omri, reinó veintidós años sobre Israel en Samaria.

In the thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah, Ahab the son of Omri became king over Israel; and Ahab the son of Omri reigned over Israel in Samaria twenty-two years.

30 Y Acab, hijo de Omri, hizo lo malo a los ojos del Señor más que todos los que fueron antes que él.

Now Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the Lord, more than all who were before him.

31 C omo si fuera poco el andar en los pecados de Jeroboam, hijo de Nabat, tomó por mujer a Jezabel, hija de Et Baal, rey de los Sidonios, y fue a servir a Baal y lo adoró.

And it came to pass, as though it had been a trivial thing for him to walk in the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, that he took as wife Jezebel the daughter of Ethbaal, king of the Sidonians; and he went and served Baal and worshiped him.

32 E dificó un altar a Baal en la casa de Baal que edificó en Samaria.

Then he set up an altar for Baal in the temple of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

33 A cab hizo también una Asera (deidad femenina). Así Acab hizo más para provocar al Señor, Dios de Israel, que todos los reyes de Israel que fueron antes que él.

And Ahab made a wooden image. Ahab did more to provoke the Lord God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel who were before him.

34 E n tiempos de Acab, Hiel de Betel (Casa de Dios) reedificó Jericó. A costa de la vida de Abiram su primogénito puso sus cimientos, y a costa de la vida de su hijo menor Segub levantó sus puertas, conforme a la palabra que el Señor había hablado por medio de Josué, hijo de Nun.

In his days Hiel of Bethel built Jericho. He laid its foundation with Abiram his firstborn, and with his youngest son Segub he set up its gates, according to the word of the Lord, which He had spoken through Joshua the son of Nun.
