1 D oamne, Stăpânul nostru, cât de maiestuos este Numele Tău pe întreg pământul! Fie înălţată slava Ta mai presus de ceruri!

O Jehovah, our Lord, How excellent is thy name in all the earth, Who hast set thy glory upon the heavens!

2 D in gura copiilor şi a celor ce sunt alăptaţi ai întemeiat o fortăreaţă împotriva duşmanilor Tăi, ca să fie astfel reduşi la tăcere vrăjmaşul şi răzbunătorul.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou established strength, Because of thine adversaries, That thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

3 C ând privesc cerurile, lucrarea mâinilor Tale, luna şi stelele pe care le-ai zidit, îmi zic:

When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, The moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;

4 C e este omul ca să-Ţi aminteşti de el şi fiul omului ca să-Ţi pese de el?

What is man, that thou art mindful of him? And the son of man, that thou visitest him?

5 T u l-ai făcut cu puţin mai prejos decât Dumnezeu şi l-ai încoronat cu slavă şi cu cinste.

For thou hast made him but little lower than God, And crownest him with glory and honor.

6 L -ai pus să domnească peste lucrările mâinilor Tale; i-ai pus totul sub picioare:

Thou makest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet:

7 o i şi boi deopotrivă, chiar şi fiarele câmpului;

All sheep and oxen, Yea, and the beasts of the field,

8 p ăsările cerului şi peştii mării, tot ce străbate căile mărilor.

The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, Whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

9 D oamne, Stăpânul nostru, cât de maiestuos este Numele Tău pe întreg pământul!
