1 M ulţumiţi Domnului, chemaţi Numele Lui! Faceţi cunoscute printre popoare isprăvile Lui!

Oh give thanks unto Jehovah, call upon his name; Make known among the peoples his doings.

2 C ântaţi-I, cântaţi în cinstea Lui, vestiţi toate minunile Lui!

Sing unto him, sing praises unto him; Talk ye of all his marvelous works.

3 F ăliţi-vă cu Numele Lui cel sfânt! Să se bucure inima celor ce-L caută pe Domnul!

Glory ye in his holy name: Let the heart of them rejoice that seek Jehovah.

4 C ăutaţi pe Domnul şi puterea Lui, căutaţi întotdeauna faţa Lui!

Seek ye Jehovah and his strength; Seek his face evermore.

5 A duceţi-vă aminte de minunile pe care le-a făcut, de semnele Sale şi de judecăţile rostite de gura Sa,

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, His wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

6 u rmaşi ai robului Său Avraam, fii ai lui Iacov, aleşii Lui!

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, Ye children of Jacob, his chosen ones.

7 E l este Domnul, Dumnezeul nostru, şi judecăţile Lui se împlinesc pe tot pământul.

He is Jehovah our God: His judgments are in all the earth.

8 E l Îşi aduce aminte mereu de legământul Lui, de cuvântul pe care l-a poruncit pentru o mie de generaţii,

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, The word which he commanded to a thousand generations,

9 d e legământul pe care l-a încheiat cu Avraam, de jurământul Lui către Isaac,

The covenant which he made with Abraham, And his oath unto Isaac,

10 p e care l-a întărit faţă de Iacov printr-o hotărâre şi faţă de Israel – printr-un legământ veşnic,

And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a statute, To Israel for an everlasting covenant,

11 s punând: „Ţie îţi voi da ţara Canaanului, ca parte a moştenirii voastre.“

Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, The lot of your inheritance;

12 P e atunci erau doar câţiva bărbaţi – puţini la număr – şi erau peregrini în ţară;

When they were but a few men in number, Yea, very few, and sojourners in it.

13 c ălătoreau de la un neam la altul, de la un regat la altul.

And they went about from nation to nation, From one kingdom to another people.

14 E l nu a îngăduit nici unui om să-i asuprească şi a mustrat regi din pricina lor:

He suffered no man to do them wrong; Yea, he reproved kings for their sakes,

15 „ Nu vă atingeţi de unşii Mei şi nu-i vătămaţi pe profeţii Mei!“

Saying, Touch not mine anointed ones, And do my prophets no harm.

16 A chemat foametea peste ţară şi a distrus orice provizie de hrană.

And he called for a famine upon the land; He brake the whole staff of bread.

17 T rimisese înaintea lor un om, pe Iosif, care a fost vândut ca sclav.

He sent a man before them; Joseph was sold for a servant:

18 I -au strâns picioarele în lanţuri, iar gâtul i-a fost pus în fiare,

His feet they hurt with fetters: He was laid in chains of iron,

19 p ână a venit vremea să se împlinească cuvintele Lui, să se dovedească Cuvântul Domnului faţă de el.

Until the time that his word came to pass, The word of Jehovah tried him.

20 A tunci regele a trimis să-l dezlege şi conducătorul popoarelor – să-l elibereze.

The king sent and loosed him; Even the ruler of peoples, and let him go free.

21 L -a pus stăpân peste casa lui şi conducător peste toate proprietăţile lui,

He made him lord of his house, And ruler of all his substance;

22 c a să-i lege după bunu-i plac pe prinţii lui şi să-i înveţe pe bătrânii lui înţelepciunea.

To bind his princes at his pleasure, And teach his elders wisdom.

23 A tunci Israel a venit în Egipt, Iacov a locuit ca străin în ţara lui Ham.

Israel also came into Egypt; And Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.

24 D umnezeu Şi-a înmulţit poporul foarte mult şi i-a făcut mai tari decât pe duşmanii lor.

And he increased his people greatly, And made them stronger than their adversaries.

25 A cestora le-a schimbat inima, ca să-I urască poporul şi să se poarte mişeleşte cu slujitorii Săi.

He turned their heart to hate his people, To deal subtly with his servants.

26 L -a trimis pe Moise, robul Său, şi pe Aaron pe care-l alesese.

He sent Moses his servant, And Aaron whom he had chosen.

27 E i au înfăptuit printre duşmani semnele Lui şi au făcut minuni în ţara lui Ham.

They set among them his signs, And wonders in the land of Ham.

28 A trimis întunericul şi s-a făcut beznă; Moise şi Aaron nu s-au răzvrătit împotriva cuvintelor Lui.

He sent darkness, and made it dark; And they rebelled not against his words.

29 L e-a prefăcut apa în sânge şi le-a omorât peştii.

He turned their waters into blood, And slew their fish.

30 Ţ ara lor a mişunat de broaşte, care au ajuns până şi în odăile palatelor lor.

Their land swarmed with frogs In the chambers of their kings.

31 C ând a grăit El, au sosit roiuri de muşte şi păduchi în tot ţinutul lor.

He spake, and there came swarms of flies, And lice in all their borders.

32 L e-a prefăcut ploile în grindină şi în flăcări de foc ce au căzut peste ţara lor.

He gave them hail for rain, And flaming fire in their land.

33 L e-a lovit viile şi smochinii şi le-a rupt copacii din teritoriul lor.

He smote their vines also and their fig-trees, And brake the trees of their borders.

34 C ând a grăit El, au sosit roiuri de lăcuste, lăcuste fără număr,

He spake, and the locust came, And the grasshopper, and that without number,

35 c are le-au devorat toată verdeaţa din ţară, toate roadele pământului lor.

And did eat up every herb in their land, And did eat up the fruit of their ground.

36 I -a lovit pe întâii născuţi din ţara lor, pârga puterii lor.

He smote also all the first-born in their land, The chief of all their strength.

37 E l i-a scos pe israeliţi de acolo cu argint şi cu aur şi n-a fost unul din seminţiile Lui care să şovăiască.

And he brought them forth with silver and gold; And there was not one feeble person among his tribes.

38 E giptenii s-au bucurat de plecarea lor, căci îi îngroziseră.

Egypt was glad when they departed; For the fear of them had fallen upon them.

39 E l a întins un nor ca să le fie învelitoare şi un foc ca să le dea lumină noaptea.

He spread a cloud for a covering, And fire to give light in the night.

40 A u cerut, iar El le-a trimis prepeliţe şi cu pâine din cer i-a săturat.

They asked, and he brought quails, And satisfied them with the bread of heaven.

41 A despicat stânca şi a curs apă; prin pustii au curs râuri.

He opened the rock, and waters gushed out; They ran in the dry places like a river.

42 Ş i aceasta pentru că Şi-a amintit de promisiunea Sa cea sfântă, făcută lui Avraam, robul Său.

For he remembered his holy word, And Abraham his servant.

43 E l Şi-a scos poporul cu bucurie, Şi-a scos aleşii cu strigăte de veselie.

And he brought forth his people with joy, And his chosen with singing.

44 L e-a dat teritoriile neamurilor şi au moştenit rodul trudei noroadelor,

And he gave them the lands of the nations; And they took the labor of the peoples in possession:

45 c a să păzească hotărârile Lui şi să trăiască după învăţăturile Lui. Lăudaţi-L pe Domnul!

That they might keep his statutes, And observe his laws. Praise ye Jehovah.
