1 Ţ ie Îţi aducem mulţumire, Dumnezeule, Îţi aducem mulţumire căci Numele Tău este aproape, astfel că oamenii mărturisesc minunile Tale!

We give thanks unto thee, O God; We give thanks, for thy name is near: Men tell of thy wondrous works.

2 „ Când voi hotărî că a sosit vremea, Eu, zice Domnul, voi judeca cu nepărtinire!

4 L e-am spus lăudăroşilor: „Nu vă mai lăudaţi!“, iar celor răi: „Nu vă mai făliţi!“

I said unto the arrogant, Deal not arrogantly; And to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

5 N u vă mai semeţiţi privirea şi nu mai vorbiţi cu atâta trufie,

Lift not up your horn on high; Speak not with a stiff neck.

6 c ăci nici de la răsărit, nici de la apus şi nici din pustie nu vine înălţarea,

For neither from the east, nor from the west, Nor yet from the south, cometh lifting up.

7 c i Dumnezeu este Cel Ce judecă! El smereşte şi tot El înalţă!

But God is the judge: He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.

8 Î n mâna Domnului se află un potir; vinul spumegă în el, complet amestecat. Când El varsă din potir, toţi cei răi de pe pământ îi beau până şi rămăşiţele.

For in the hand of Jehovah there is a cup, and the wine foameth; It is full of mixture, and he poureth out of the same: Surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.

9 E u însă voi vesti pururi aceste lucruri; voi cânta Dumnezeului lui Iacov!

But I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

10 V oi doborî puterea tuturor celor răi, dar puterea celui drept va fi înălţată.

All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; But the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
