1 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè:

2 C ommand the children of Israel, that they bring unto thee pure olive oil beaten for the light, to cause a lamp to burn continually.

«Ordina ai figli d’Israele di portarti dell’olio di oliva puro, vergine, per il candelabro, per tenere le lampade sempre accese.

3 W ithout the veil of the testimony, in the tent of meeting, shall Aaron keep it in order from evening to morning before Jehovah continually: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations.

Aaronne lo preparerà nella tenda di convegno, fuori della cortina che sta davanti alla testimonianza, perché le lampade ardano sempre, dalla sera alla mattina, davanti al Signore. È una legge perenne, di generazione in generazione.

4 H e shall keep in order the lamps upon the pure candlestick before Jehovah continually.

Egli le disporrà sul candelabro d’oro puro, perché ardano sempre davanti al Signore. Norme relative al pane della presentazione

5 A nd thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth parts of an ephah shall be in one cake.

«Prenderai pure del fior di farina e ne farai cuocere dodici focacce; ogni focaccia sarà di due decimi di efa.

6 A nd thou shalt set them in two rows, six on a row, upon the pure table before Jehovah.

Le metterai in due file, sei per fila, sulla tavola d’oro puro davanti al Signore.

7 A nd thou shalt put pure frankincense upon each row, that it may be to the bread for a memorial, even an offering made by fire unto Jehovah.

Metterai dell’incenso puro sopra ogni fila, e sarà sul pane come un ricordo, come un sacrificio consumato dal fuoco per il Signore.

8 E very sabbath day he shall set it in order before Jehovah continually; it is on the behalf of the children of Israel, an everlasting covenant.

Ogni sabato si disporranno i pani davanti al Signore, sempre; essi saranno forniti dai figli d’Israele; è un patto perenne.

9 A nd it shall be for Aaron and his sons; and they shall eat it in a holy place: for it is most holy unto him of the offerings of Jehovah made by fire by a perpetual statute.

I pani apparterranno ad Aaronne e ai suoi figli ed essi li mangeranno in luogo santo; poiché saranno per loro cosa santissima tra i sacrifici consumati dal fuoco per il Signore. È una legge perenne». Legge contro i bestemmiatori e i violenti

10 A nd the son of an Israelitish woman, whose father was an Egyptian, went out among the children of Israel; and the son of the Israelitish woman and a man of Israel strove together in the camp:

Il figlio di una donna israelita e di un Egiziano, trovandosi in mezzo a degli Israeliti, venne a diverbio con un figlio d’Israele.

11 a nd the son of the Israelitish woman blasphemed the Name, and cursed; and they brought him unto Moses. And his mother's name was Shelomith, the daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan.

Il figlio della israelita bestemmiò il nome del Signore e lo maledisse; perciò fu condotto da Mosè. La madre di quel tale si chiamava Selomit ed era figlia di Dibri, della tribù di Dan.

12 A nd they put him in ward, that it might be declared unto them at the mouth of Jehovah.

Lo misero in prigione, in attesa di sapere che cosa il Signore ordinasse di fare.

13 A nd Jehovah spake unto Moses, saying,

E il Signore parlò a Mosè, e gli disse:

14 B ring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.

«Conduci quel bestemmiatore fuori dal campo; tutti quelli che lo hanno udito posino le mani sul suo capo e tutta la comunità lo lapidi.

15 A nd thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.

Poi dirai ai figli d’Israele: “Chiunque maledirà il suo Dio porterà la pena del suo peccato.

16 A nd he that blasphemeth the name of Jehovah, he shall surely be put to death; all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the sojourner, as the home-born, when he blasphemeth the name of Jehovah, shall be put to death.

Chi bestemmia il nome del Signore dovrà essere messo a morte; tutta la comunità lo dovrà lapidare. Sia straniero o nativo del paese, se bestemmia il nome del Signore, sarà messo a morte.

17 A nd he that smiteth any man mortally shall surely be put to death.

Chi percuote mortalmente un uomo dovrà essere messo a morte.

18 A nd he that smiteth a beast mortally shall make it good, life for life.

Chi percuote a morte un capo di bestiame lo pagherà: vita per vita.

19 A nd if a man cause a blemish in his neighbor; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him:

Quando uno avrà fatto una lesione al suo prossimo, gli sarà fatto come egli ha fatto:

20 b reach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth; as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be rendered unto him.

frattura per frattura, occhio per occhio, dente per dente; gli si farà la stessa lesione che egli ha fatto all’altro.

21 A nd he that killeth a beast shall make it good: and he that killeth a man shall be put to death.

Chi uccide un capo di bestiame lo pagherà; ma chi uccide un uomo sarà messo a morte.

22 Y e shall have one manner of law, as well for the sojourner, as for the home-born: for I am Jehovah your God.

Avrete una stessa legge tanto per lo straniero quanto per il nativo del paese; poiché io sono il Signore vostro Dio”».

23 A nd Moses spake to the children of Israel; and they brought forth him that had cursed out of the camp, and stoned him with stones. And the children of Israel did as Jehovah commanded Moses.

Mosè parlò ai figli d’Israele, i quali portarono quel bestemmiatore fuori dal campo e lo lapidarono. Così i figli d’Israele fecero quello che il Signore aveva ordinato a Mosè.
