1 A nd bring thou near unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons.

«Tu farai accostare a te, tra i figli d’Israele, tuo fratello Aaronne e i suoi figli con lui perché siano sacerdoti: Aaronne, Nadab, Abiu, Eleazar e Itamar, figli di Aaronne.

2 A nd thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, for glory and for beauty.

A tuo fratello Aaronne farai dei paramenti sacri, in segno di dignità e di gloria.

3 A nd thou shalt speak unto all that are wise-hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they make Aaron's garments to sanctify him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Parlerai a tutti gli uomini sapienti, che io ho riempito di spirito di sapienza, ed essi faranno i paramenti di Aaronne perché sia consacrato e mi serva come sacerdote.

4 A nd these are the garments which they shall make: a breastplate, and an ephod, and a robe, and a coat of checker work, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Questi sono i paramenti che faranno: un pettorale, un efod, un manto, una tunica lavorata a maglia, un turbante e una cintura. Faranno dunque dei paramenti sacri per Aaronne tuo fratello e per i suoi figli perché mi servano come sacerdoti.

5 A nd they shall take the gold, and the blue, and the purple, and the scarlet, and the fine linen.

Si serviranno d’oro, di filo violaceo, porporino, scarlatto e di lino fino. L’efod

6 A nd they shall make the ephod of gold, of blue, and purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, the work of the skilful workman.

«Faranno l’efod d’oro, di filo violaceo, porporino, scarlatto, e di lino fino ritorto, lavorato artisticamente.

7 I t shall have two shoulder-pieces joined to the two ends thereof, that it may be joined together.

Esso avrà alle due estremità due spalline, che si uniranno per fissarlo.

8 A nd the skilfully woven band, which is upon it, wherewith to gird it on, shall be like the work thereof and of the same piece; of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen.

La cintura che è sull’efod e lo avvolge sarà del medesimo lavoro dell’efod, tutto d’un pezzo con esso; sarà d’oro, di filo color violaceo, porporino, scarlatto e di lino fino ritorto.

9 A nd thou shalt take two onyx stones, and grave on them the names of the children of Israel:

Prenderai due pietre d’ònice e vi inciderai sopra i nomi dei figli d’Israele:

10 s ix of their names on the one stone, and the names of the six that remain on the other stone, according to their birth.

sei nomi sopra una pietra, gli altri sei nomi sopra la seconda pietra, in ordine di nascita.

11 W ith the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, shalt thou engrave the two stones, according to the names of the children of Israel: thou shalt make them to be inclosed in settings of gold.

Inciderai su queste due pietre i nomi dei figli d’Israele come fa un incisore quando incide un sigillo; le farai incastonare in montature d’oro.

12 A nd thou shalt put the two stones upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, to be stones of memorial for the children of Israel: and Aaron shall bear their names before Jehovah upon his two shoulders for a memorial.

Metterai le due pietre sulle spalline dell’efod. Quelle pietre saranno un memoriale per i figli d’Israele; e Aaronne porterà i loro nomi davanti al Signore sulle sue due spalle, come memoriale.

13 A nd thou shalt make settings of gold,

E farai delle montature d’oro

14 a nd two chains of pure gold; like cords shalt thou make them, of wreathen work: and thou shalt put the wreathen chains on the settings.

e due catenelle d’oro puro che intreccerai come un cordone, e metterai nelle montature le catenelle così intrecciate. Il pettorale

15 A nd thou shalt make a breastplate of judgment, the work of the skilful workman; like the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, shalt thou make it.

«Farai pure il pettorale del giudizio, artisticamente lavorato; lo farai come il lavoro dell’efod: d’oro, di filo violaceo, porporino, scarlatto e di lino fino ritorto.

16 F oursquare it shall be and double; a span shall be the length thereof, and a span the breadth thereof.

Sarà quadrato e doppio; avrà una spanna di lunghezza e una spanna di larghezza.

17 A nd thou shalt set in it settings of stones, four rows of stones: a row of sardius, topaz, and carbuncle shall be the first row;

V’incastonerai una serie di pietre: quattro file di pietre; nella prima fila ci sarà un sardonio, un topazio e uno smeraldo;

18 a nd the second row an emerald, a sapphire, and a diamond;

nella seconda fila, un rubino, uno zaffiro e un calcedonio;

19 a nd the third row a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst;

nella terza fila, un’opale, un’agata e un’ametista;

20 a nd the fourth row a beryl, and an onyx, and a jasper: they shall be inclosed in gold in their settings.

nella quarta fila, un crisolito, un ònice e un diaspro. Queste pietre saranno incastonate nelle loro montature d’oro.

21 A nd the stones shall be according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names; like the engravings of a signet, every one according to his name, they shall be for the twelve tribes.

Le pietre corrisponderanno ai nomi dei figli d’Israele, saranno dodici, secondo i loro nomi; saranno incise come dei sigilli, ciascuna con il nome di una delle tribù d’Israele.

22 A nd thou shalt make upon the breastplate chains like cords, of wreathen work of pure gold.

Sul pettorale farai anche delle catenelle d’oro puro, intrecciate come cordoni.

23 A nd thou shalt make upon the breastplate two rings of gold, and shalt put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.

Poi farai due anelli d’oro e li metterai alle due estremità del pettorale.

24 A nd thou shalt put the two wreathen chains of gold in the two rings at the ends of the breastplate.

Fisserai i due cordoni d’oro ai due anelli alle estremità del pettorale,

25 A nd the other two ends of the two wreathen chains thou shalt put on the two settings, and put them on the shoulder-pieces of the ephod in the forepart thereof.

attaccherai gli altri due capi dei cordoni alle due montature e li metterai sulle spalline dell’efod, sul davanti.

26 A nd thou shalt make two rings of gold, and thou shalt put them upon the two ends of the breastplate, upon the edge thereof, which is toward the side of the ephod inward.

Farai due anelli d’oro e li metterai alle altre due estremità del pettorale, sull’orlo interiore volto verso l’efod.

27 A nd thou shalt make two rings of gold, and shalt put them on the two shoulder-pieces of the ephod underneath, in the forepart thereof, close by the coupling thereof, above the skilfully woven band of the ephod.

Farai due altri anelli d’oro e li metterai alle due spalline dell’efod, in basso, sul davanti, vicino al punto dove avviene la giuntura, al di sopra della cintura artistica dell’efod.

28 A nd they shall bind the breastplate by the rings thereof unto the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it may be upon the skilfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate be not loosed from the ephod.

Si fisserà il pettorale mediante i suoi anelli agli anelli dell’efod con un cordone violaceo, affinché il pettorale sia al di sopra della cintura artistica dell’efod, e non si possa staccare dall’efod.

29 A nd Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment upon his heart, when he goeth in unto the holy place, for a memorial before Jehovah continually.

Così Aaronne, quando entrerà nel santuario, porterà i nomi dei figli d’Israele nel pettorale del giudizio, sul suo cuore, per conservarne sempre il ricordo davanti al Signore.

30 A nd thou shalt put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be upon Aaron's heart, when he goeth in before Jehovah: and Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel upon his heart before Jehovah continually.

Metterai sul pettorale del giudizio l’urim e il tummim; essi staranno sul cuore di Aaronne quando egli si presenterà davanti al Signore. Così Aaronne porterà sempre il giudizio dei figli d’Israele sul suo cuore, davanti al Signore. Il manto dell’efod

31 A nd thou shalt make the robe of the ephod all of blue.

«Farai anche il manto dell’efod, tutto di color violaceo.

32 A nd it shall have a hole for the head in the midst thereof: it shall have a binding of woven work round about the hole of it, as it were the hole of a coat of mail, that it be not rent.

Esso avrà, in mezzo, un’apertura per passarvi il capo; l’apertura avrà intorno un orlo tessuto, come l’apertura d’una corazza, perché non si strappi.

33 A nd upon the skirts of it thou shalt make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, round about the skirts thereof; and bells of gold between them round about:

All’orlo inferiore del manto, tutto intorno, farai delle melagrane di colore violaceo, porporino e scarlatto; in mezzo a esse, tutt’intorno, porrai dei sonagli d’oro:

34 a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, upon the skirts of the robe round about.

un sonaglio d’oro e una melagrana, un sonaglio d’oro e una melagrana, sull’orlo del manto, tutto intorno.

35 A nd it shall be upon Aaron to minister: and the sound thereof shall be heard when he goeth in unto the holy place before Jehovah, and when he cometh out, that he die not.

Aaronne se lo metterà per fare il servizio; quando egli entrerà nel luogo santo davanti al Signore e quando ne uscirà, si udrà il suono, ed egli non morirà. Il diadema di santità

36 A nd thou shalt make a plate of pure gold, and grave upon it, like the engravings of a signet, HOLY TO JEHOVAH.

«Farai anche una piastra d’oro puro, e su essa inciderai, come s’incide sopra un sigillo: Santo al Signore.

37 A nd thou shalt put it on a lace of blue, and it shall be upon the mitre; upon the forefront of the mitre it shall be.

La fisserai con un nastro violaceo sul turbante e starà sulla sua parte anteriore.

38 A nd it shall be upon Aaron's forehead, and Aaron shall bear the iniquity of the holy things, which the children of Israel shall hallow in all their holy gifts; and it shall be always upon his forehead, that they may be accepted before Jehovah.

Starà sulla fronte di Aaronne, e Aaronne porterà le colpe commesse dai figli d’Israele nelle cose sante che consacreranno, in ogni genere di sante offerte; essa starà sempre sulla sua fronte, per renderli graditi alla presenza del Signore. I paramenti dei sacerdoti

39 A nd thou shalt weave the coat in checker work of fine linen, and thou shalt make a mitre of fine linen, and thou shalt make a girdle, the work of the embroiderer.

«Farai pure la tunica di lino fino, lavorata a maglia; farai un turbante di lino fino e una cintura ricamata.

40 A nd for Aaron's sons thou shalt make coats, and thou shalt make for them girdles, and head-tires shalt thou make for them, for glory and for beauty.

Per i figli di Aaronne farai delle tuniche, farai delle cinture, farai delle mitre in segno di dignità e come ornamento.

41 A nd thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and upon his sons with him, and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

Ne vestirai tuo fratello Aaronne e i suoi figli con lui; li ungerai, li consacrerai e li santificherai perché mi servano come sacerdoti.

42 A nd thou shalt make them linen breeches to cover the flesh of their nakedness; from the loins even unto the thighs they shall reach:

Farai loro anche delle mutande di lino per coprire la loro nudità; esse andranno dai fianchi alle cosce.

43 A nd they shall be upon Aaron, and upon his sons, when they go in unto the tent of meeting, or when they come near unto the altar to minister in the holy place; that they bear not iniquity, and die: it shall be a statute for ever unto him and unto his seed after him.

Aaronne e i suoi figli le porteranno quando entreranno nella tenda di convegno, o quando si avvicineranno all’altare per fare il servizio nel luogo santo, perché non si rendano colpevoli e non muoiano. Questa è una regola perenne per lui e per la sua discendenza dopo di lui.
