1 N ow in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of Jehovah by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,

Nel primo anno di Ciro, re di Persia, affinché si adempisse la parola del Signore pronunciata per bocca di Geremia, il Signore destò lo spirito di Ciro, re di Persia, il quale a voce e per iscritto fece proclamare per tutto il suo regno questo editto:

2 T hus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath Jehovah, the God of heaven, given me; and he hath charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.

«Così dice Ciro, re di Persia: “Il Signore, Dio dei cieli, mi ha dato tutti i regni della terra, ed egli mi ha comandato di costruirgli una casa a Gerusalemme, che si trova in Giuda.

3 W hosoever there is among you of all his people, his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of Jehovah, the God of Israel (he is God), which is in Jerusalem.

Chiunque tra voi è del suo popolo, il suo Dio sia con lui, salga a Gerusalemme, che si trova in Giuda, e costruisca la casa del Signore, Dio d’Israele, del Dio che è a Gerusalemme.

4 A nd whosoever is left, in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, besides the freewill-offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.

Tutti quelli che rimangono ancora del popolo del Signore, dovunque risiedano, siano assistiti dalla gente del posto con argento, oro, doni in natura, bestiame, e inoltre con offerte volontarie per la casa del Dio che è a Gerusalemme”».

5 T hen rose up the heads of fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred to go up to build the house of Jehovah which is in Jerusalem.

Allora i capi famiglia di Giuda e di Beniamino, i sacerdoti e i Leviti, tutti quelli ai quali Dio aveva destato lo spirito, si misero in cammino verso Gerusalemme per ricostruire la casa del Signore.

6 A nd all they that were round about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, besides all that was willingly offered.

Tutti i loro vicini li fornirono di oggetti d’argento e d’oro, di doni in natura, di bestiame, di cose preziose, oltre a tutte le offerte volontarie.

7 A lso Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of Jehovah, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put in the house of his gods;

Il re Ciro tirò fuori gli utensili della casa del Signore che Nabucodonosor aveva portati via da Gerusalemme e messi nella casa del suo dio.

8 e ven those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.

Ciro, re di Persia, li fece tirar fuori da Mitredat, il tesoriere, che li consegnò a Sesbasar, capo di Giuda.

9 A nd this is the number of them: thirty platters of gold, a thousand platters of silver, nine and twenty knives,

Eccone il numero: trenta bacinelle d’oro, mille bacinelle d’argento, ventinove coltelli,

10 t hirty bowls of gold, silver bowls of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.

trenta coppe d’oro, quattrocentodieci coppe d’argento di seconda qualità, mille altri utensili.

11 A ll the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up, when they of the captivity were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.

In tutto c’erano cinquemilaquattrocento oggetti d’oro e d’argento. Sesbasar li riportò tutti, quando gli esuli furono ricondotti da Babilonia a Gerusalemme.
