1 A nd Jehovah said unto me, Go again, love a woman beloved of her friend, and an adulteress, even as Jehovah loveth the children of Israel, though they turn unto other gods, and love cakes of raisins.

Il Signore mi disse: «Va’ ancora, ama una donna amata da un altro e adultera; amala come il Signore ama i figli d’Israele, i quali pure si volgono ad altri dèi e amano le schiacciate d’uva ».

2 S o I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and a homer of barley, and a half-homer of barley;

Allora me la comprai per quindici sicli d’argento, per un comer d’orzo e un letec d’orzo,

3 a nd I said unto her, Thou shalt abide for me many days; thou shalt not play the harlot, and thou shalt not be any man's wife: so will I also be toward thee.

e le dissi: «Aspettami per parecchio tempo: non ti prostituire e non darti a nessun uomo; io farò lo stesso per te».

4 F or the children of Israel shall abide many days without king, and without prince, and without sacrifice, and without pillar, and without ephod or teraphim:

I figli d’Israele infatti staranno per parecchio tempo senza re, senza capo, senza sacrificio e senza statua, senza efod e senza idoli domestici.

5 a fterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek Jehovah their God, and David their king, and shall come with fear unto Jehovah and to his goodness in the latter days.

Poi i figli d’Israele torneranno a cercare il Signore, loro Dio, e Davide, loro re, e ricorreranno tremanti al Signore e alla sua bontà, negli ultimi giorni.
