2 L et them be put to shame and confounded That seek after my soul: Let them be turned backward and brought to dishonor That delight in my hurt.

Siano confusi e si vergognino quelli che cercano l’anima mia! Voltino le spalle e siano coperti d’infamia quelli che desiderano il mio male!

3 L et them be turned back by reason of their shame That say, Aha, aha.

Indietreggino, sotto il peso della loro infamia, quelli che mi deridono.

4 L et all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; And let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.

Gioiscano ed esultino in te quelli che ti cercano; e quelli che amano la tua salvezza dicano sempre: «Sia glorificato Dio!»

5 B ut I am poor and needy; Make haste unto me, O God: Thou art my help and my deliverer; O Jehovah, make no tarrying.

Ma io sono misero e povero; o Dio, affrèttati a venire in mio aiuto; tu sei il mio sostegno e il mio liberatore; Signore, non tardare!
