1 P raise ye Jehovah. Blessed is the man that feareth Jehovah, That delighteth greatly in his commandments.

Alleluia. Beato l’uomo che teme il Signore e trova grande gioia nei suoi comandamenti.

2 H is seed shall be mighty upon earth: The generation of the upright shall be blessed.

Potente sulla terra sarà la sua discendenza; la stirpe degli uomini retti sarà benedetta.

3 W ealth and riches are in his house; And his righteousness endureth for ever.

Abbondanza e ricchezze sono in casa sua e la sua giustizia dura per sempre.

4 U nto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: He is gracious, and merciful, and righteous.

La luce spunta nelle tenebre per gli onesti, per chi è misericordioso, pietoso e giusto.

5 W ell is it with the man that dealeth graciously and lendeth; He shall maintain his cause in judgment.

Felice l’uomo che ha compassione, dà in prestito e amministra i suoi affari con giustizia,

6 F or he shall never be moved; The righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance.

perché non vacillerà mai; il giusto sarà ricordato per sempre.

7 H e shall not be afraid of evil tidings: His heart is fixed, trusting in Jehovah.

Egli non temerà cattive notizie; il suo cuore è saldo, fiducioso nel Signore.

8 H is heart is established, he shall not be afraid, Until he see his desire upon his adversaries.

Il suo cuore è tenace, privo di paure, e alla fine vedrà sui suoi nemici quanto desidera.

9 H e hath dispersed, he hath given to the needy; His righteousness endureth for ever: His horn shall be exalted with honor.

Egli ha dato generosamente ai bisognosi; la sua giustizia dura per sempre e la sua fronte si alza gloriosa.

10 T he wicked shall see it, and be grieved; He shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: The desire of the wicked shall perish.

L’empio lo vede, si irrita, digrigna i denti e si consuma; il desiderio degli empi non potrà mai avverarsi.
