1 J ehová abomina el peso falso, pero la pesa cabal le agrada.

A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

2 C uando llega la soberbia, llega también la deshonra; pero con los humildes está la sabiduría.

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3 L a integridad guía a los rectos, pero a los pecadores los destruye su propia perversidad.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4 D e nada servirán las riquezas en el día de la ira, pero la justicia librará de muerte.

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

5 L a justicia del perfecto endereza su camino, pero el malvado caerá por su propia impiedad.

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 L a justicia libra a los rectos, pero los pecadores son atrapados en su pecado.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7 C uando muere el hombre malvado, perece su esperanza; la expectación de los malos perecerá.

When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

8 E l justo es librado de la tribulación, pero su lugar lo ocupa el malvado.

The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

9 E l hipócrita, con la boca daña a su prójimo, pero los justos se libran con la sabiduría.

An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10 C on el bien de los justos se alegra la ciudad, pero cuando los malvados perecen, se hace fiesta.

When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 P or la bendición de los rectos la ciudad es engrandecida, pero por la boca de los malvados es trastornada.

By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 E l que carece de entendimiento menosprecia a su prójimo, pero el hombre prudente calla.

He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13 E l que anda con chismes revela el secreto; el de espíritu fiel lo guarda íntegro.

A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

14 D onde no hay dirección sabia, el pueblo cae; la seguridad está en los muchos consejeros.

Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

15 L a ansiedad aflige al que sale fiador de un extraño; el que aborrece las fianzas vive seguro.

He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

16 L a mujer agraciada obtiene honores; los fuertes obtienen riquezas.

A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

17 A su alma hace bien el hombre misericordioso, pero el cruel se atormenta a sí mismo.

The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18 E l malvado obra con falsedad; el que siembra justicia obtendrá firme galardón.

The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19 C omo la justicia conduce a la vida, así el que sigue el mal lo hace para su muerte.

As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

20 A bominables son para Jehová los perversos de corazón, pero los perfectos de camino le son agradables.

They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21 T arde o temprano, el malo será castigado, pero la descendencia de los justos se librará.

Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22 C omo zarcillo de oro en el hocico de un cerdo es la mujer hermosa pero falta de sentido.

As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 E l deseo de los justos es solamente el bien; la esperanza de los malvados, el enojo.

The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 H ay quienes reparten y les es añadido más, y hay quienes retienen más de lo justo y acaban en la miseria.

There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

25 E l alma generosa será prosperada: el que sacie a otros será también saciado.

The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

26 A l que acapara el grano, el pueblo lo maldice, pero bendición cubre la cabeza del que lo vende.

He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

27 E l que procura el bien obtendrá favor, pero al que busca el mal, el mal le sobrevendrá.

He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

28 E l que confía en sus riquezas caerá, pero los justos reverdecerán como el follaje.

He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29 E l que perturba su casa heredará viento, y el necio será siervo del sabio de corazón.

He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 E l fruto del justo es árbol de vida; el que gana almas es sabio.

The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

31 C iertamente el justo recibe su paga en la tierra, ¡cuánto más el malvado y el pecador!

Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
