1 P ablo, llamado a ser apóstol de Jesucristo por la voluntad de Dios, y el hermano Sóstenes,

Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,

2 a la iglesia de Dios que está en Corinto, a los santificados en Cristo Jesús, llamados a ser santos con todos los que en cualquier lugar invocan el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Señor de ellos y nuestro.

Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:

3 G racia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo. Acción de gracias por dones espirituales

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 G racias doy a mi Dios siempre por vosotros, por la gracia de Dios que os fue dada en Cristo Jesús,

I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;

5 p ues por medio de él habéis sido enriquecidos en todo, en toda palabra y en todo conocimiento,

That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;

6 e n la medida en que el testimonio acerca de Cristo ha sido confirmado entre vosotros,

Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

7 d e tal manera que nada os falta en ningún don mientras esperáis la manifestación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo;

So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8 e l cual también os mantendrá firmes hasta el fin, para que seáis irreprensibles en el día de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

9 F iel es Dios, por el cual fuisteis llamados a la comunión con su Hijo Jesucristo, nuestro Señor. ¿Está dividido Cristo?

God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10 O s ruego, pues, hermanos, por el nombre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, que habléis todos una misma cosa, y que no haya entre vosotros divisiones, sino que estéis perfectamente unidos en una misma mente y un mismo parecer,

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

11 p orque he sido informado acerca de vosotros, hermanos míos, por los de Cloé, que hay entre vosotros contiendas.

For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.

12 Q uiero decir, que cada uno de vosotros dice: «Yo soy de Pablo», «Yo, de Apolos», «Yo, de Cefas» o «Yo, de Cristo».

Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.

13 ¿ Acaso está dividido Cristo? ¿Fue crucificado Pablo por vosotros? ¿O fuisteis bautizados en el nombre de Pablo?

Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?

14 D oy gracias a Dios de que a ninguno de vosotros he bautizado, sino a Crispo y a Gayo,

I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;

15 p ara que ninguno diga que fue bautizado en mi nombre.

Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.

16 T ambién bauticé a la familia de Estéfanas, pero de los demás no recuerdo si he bautizado a algún otro.

And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.

17 N o me envió Cristo a bautizar, sino a predicar el evangelio; no con sabiduría de palabras, para que no se haga vana la cruz de Cristo. Cristo, poder y sabiduría de Dios

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

18 L a palabra de la cruz es locura a los que se pierden; pero a los que se salvan, esto es, a nosotros, es poder de Dios,

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

19 p ues está escrito: «Destruiré la sabiduría de los sabios y frustraré la inteligencia de los inteligentes.»

For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.

20 ¿ Dónde está el sabio? ¿Dónde está el escriba? ¿Dónde está el que discute asuntos de este mundo? ¿Acaso no ha enloquecido Dios la sabiduría del mundo?

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?

21 P uesto que el mundo, mediante su sabiduría, no reconoció a Dios a través de las obras que manifiestan su sabiduría, agradó a Dios salvar a los creyentes por la locura de la predicación.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

22 L os judíos piden señales y los griegos buscan sabiduría,

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

23 p ero nosotros predicamos a Cristo crucificado, para los judíos ciertamente tropezadero, y para los gentiles locura.

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;

24 E n cambio para los llamados, tanto judíos como griegos, Cristo es poder y sabiduría de Dios,

But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

25 p orque lo insensato de Dios es más sabio que los hombres, y lo débil de Dios es más fuerte que los hombres.

Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

26 C onsiderad, pues, hermanos, vuestra vocación y ved que no hay muchos sabios según la carne, ni muchos poderosos, ni muchos nobles;

For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 s ino que lo necio del mundo escogió Dios para avergonzar a los sabios; y lo débil del mundo escogió Dios para avergonzar a lo fuerte;

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 y lo vil del mundo y lo menospreciado escogió Dios, y lo que no es, para deshacer lo que es,

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 a fin de que nadie se jacte en su presencia.

That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 P ero por él estáis vosotros en Cristo Jesús, el cual nos ha sido hecho por Dios sabiduría, justificación, santificación y redención,

But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 p ara que, como está escrito: «El que se gloría, gloríese en el Señor.»

That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
