1 D avid volvió a reunir a todos los escogidos de Israel, treinta mil hombres.

Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.

2 S e levantó David y partió de Baala de Judá con todo el pueblo que lo acompañaba para trasladar de allí el Arca de Dios, sobre la cual era invocado el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos, que tiene su trono entre los querubines.

And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the Lord of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.

3 P usieron el Arca de Dios sobre un carro nuevo, y se la llevaron de la casa de Abinadab, que estaba en la colina. Uza y Ahío, hijos de Abinadab, guiaban el carro nuevo.

And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.

4 M ientras se llevaban de la casa de Abinadab, que estaba en la colina, el Arca de Dios, Ahío iba delante del Arca.

And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark.

5 D avid y toda la casa de Israel danzaban delante de Jehová con toda clase de instrumentos de madera de haya, con arpas, salterios, panderos, flautas y címbalos.

And David and all the house of Israel played before the Lord on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.

6 C uando llegaron a la era de Nacón, Uza extendió su mano hacia el Arca de Dios y la sostuvo, pues los bueyes tropezaban.

And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

7 E ntonces el furor de Jehová se encendió contra Uza: allí mismo lo hirió Dios por aquella temeridad, y cayó allí muerto junto al Arca de Dios.

And the anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

8 D avid se entristeció por haber herido Jehová a Uza, y fue llamado aquel lugar Pérez-uza, hasta el día de hoy.

And David was displeased, because the Lord had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day.

9 Y temiendo David a Jehová aquel día, dijo: «¿Cómo ha de entrar en mi casa el Arca de Jehová?»

And David was afraid of the Lord that day, and said, How shall the ark of the Lord come to me?

10 D e modo que David no quiso llevar a su casa, a la ciudad de David, el Arca de Jehová, sino que la hizo llevar a casa de Obed-edom, el geteo.

So David would not remove the ark of the Lord unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite.

11 Y estuvo el Arca de Jehová en casa de Obed-edom, el geteo, tres meses; y bendijo Jehová a Obed-edom y a toda su casa. David lleva el Arca a Jerusalén

And the ark of the Lord continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the Lord blessed Obededom, and all his household.

12 C uando se le avisó al rey David: «Jehová ha bendecido la casa de Obed-edom y todo lo que tiene a causa del Arca de Dios», fue David y trasladó con alegría el Arca de Dios de casa de Obed-edom a la ciudad de David.

And it was told king David, saying, The Lord hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness.

13 Y cuando los que llevaban el Arca de Dios habían dado seis pasos, él sacrificó un buey y un carnero engordado.

And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

14 D avid, vestido con un efod de lino, danzaba con todas sus fuerzas delante de Jehová.

And David danced before the Lord with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15 A sí, con júbilo y sonidos de trompeta, David y toda la casa de Israel conducían el Arca de Jehová.

So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 C uando el Arca de Jehová llegaba a la ciudad de David, aconteció que Mical, hija de Saúl, miró desde una ventana, y al ver al rey David que saltaba y danzaba delante de Jehová, lo despreció en su corazón.

And as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

17 M etieron, pues, el Arca de Jehová, y la pusieron en su lugar, en medio de una tienda que David le había levantado; y sacrificó David holocaustos y ofrendas de paz delante de Jehová.

And they brought in the ark of the Lord, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord.

18 C uando David acabó de ofrecer los holocaustos y ofrendas de paz, bendijo al pueblo en el nombre de Jehová de los ejércitos.

And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts.

19 D espués repartió a todo el pueblo y a toda la multitud de Israel, tanto a hombres como a mujeres, un pan a cada uno, un pedazo de carne y una torta de pasas. Y se fue todo el pueblo, cada uno a su casa.

And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.

20 V olvió luego David para bendecir su casa; y salió a recibirlo Mical, y le dijo: —¡Cuán honrado ha quedado hoy el rey de Israel, descubriéndose hoy delante de las criadas de sus siervos, como se descubre sin decoro un cualquiera!

Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!

21 E ntonces David respondió a Mical: —Fue delante de Jehová, quien me eligió en preferencia a tu padre y a toda tu casa, para constituirme como príncipe sobre el pueblo de Jehová, sobre Israel. Por tanto, danzaré delante de Jehová.

And David said unto Michal, It was before the Lord, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel: therefore will I play before the Lord.

22 Y me humillaré aún más que esta vez; me rebajaré a tus ojos, pero seré honrado delante de las criadas de quienes has hablado.

And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour.

23 Y Mical, hija de Saúl, no tuvo ya hijos hasta el día de su muerte.

Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.
