1 E n aquellos días Ezequías cayó enfermo de muerte. Y el profeta Isaías hijo de Amoz fue a verlo y le dijo: —Jehová dice así: “Ordena tu casa, porque vas a morir, ya no vivirás.”

In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live.

2 E ntonces él volvió su rostro a la pared y oró así a Jehová:

Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying,

3 « Te ruego, Jehová, te ruego que hagas memoria de que he andado fielmente delante de ti y con corazón íntegro, que he hecho las cosas que te agradan.» Y Ezequías lloró amargamente.

I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.

4 Y antes que Isaías saliera hasta la mitad del patio, le habló Jehová a Isaías y le dijo:

And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying,

5 « Vuelve, y dile a Ezequías, príncipe de mi pueblo: “Así dice Jehová, el Dios de David, tu padre: He oído tu oración, he visto tus lágrimas y voy a sanarte: dentro de tres días subirás a la casa de Jehová.

Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord.

6 A ñadiré a tus días quince años y te libraré a ti y a esta ciudad de manos del rey de Asiria. Ampararé a esta ciudad por amor a mí mismo y por amor a David, mi siervo.”»

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David's sake.

7 I saías dijo: —Tomad una masa de higos. La tomaron, la pusieron sobre la llaga y sanó.

And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.

8 Y Ezequías había dicho a Isaías: —¿Qué señal tendré de que Jehová me sanará y que dentro de tres días subiré a la casa de Jehová?

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the Lord the third day?

9 R espondió Isaías: —Esta señal tendrás de Jehová, de que Jehová hará lo que ha dicho: ¿Quieres que la sombra avance diez grados o que retroceda diez grados?

And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees?

10 E zequías respondió: —Fácil cosa es que la sombra decline diez grados, pero no que la sombra retroceda diez grados.

And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees.

11 E ntonces el profeta Isaías clamó a Jehová, e hizo retroceder la sombra los diez grados que había avanzado en el reloj de Acaz. Ezequías recibe a los enviados de Babilonia

And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the Lord: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz.

12 E n aquel tiempo Merodac-baladán hijo de Baladán, rey de Babilonia, envió mensajeros con cartas y presentes a Ezequías, porque había oído que Ezequías había caído enfermo.

At that time Berodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present unto Hezekiah: for he had heard that Hezekiah had been sick.

13 E zequías los atendió y les mostró toda la casa de sus tesoros, la plata y el oro, las especias y ungüentos preciosos, su depósito de armas y todo lo que había en sus tesoros. Ninguna cosa quedó que Ezequías no les mostrara, tanto en su casa como en todos sus dominios.

And Hezekiah hearkened unto them, and shewed them all the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.

14 E ntonces el profeta Isaías fue a ver al rey Ezequías, y le preguntó: —¿De dónde vinieron esos hombres y qué te dijeron? Ezequías le respondió: —De lejanas tierras han venido, de Babilonia.

Then came Isaiah the prophet unto king Hezekiah, and said unto him, What said these men? and from whence came they unto thee? And Hezekiah said, They are come from a far country, even from Babylon.

15 I saías le volvió a preguntar: —¿Qué vieron en tu casa? Ezequías respondió: —Vieron todo lo que había en mi casa. Nada quedó en mis tesoros que no les mostrara.

And he said, What have they seen in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All the things that are in mine house have they seen: there is nothing among my treasures that I have not shewed them.

16 E ntonces Isaías dijo a Ezequías: —Oye esta palabra de Jehová:

And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord.

17 “ Vienen días en que todo lo que está en tu casa y todo lo que tus padres han atesorado hasta hoy será llevado a Babilonia, sin quedar nada, dice Jehová.

Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord.

18 Y algunos de los hijos que salgan de ti, que hayas engendrado, los tomarán para que sean eunucos en el palacio del rey de Babilonia.”

And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.

19 E ntonces Ezequías dijo a Isaías: —La palabra que has hablado de parte de Jehová es buena. Pues pensaba: «Al menos en mis días habrá paz y seguridad.» Muerte de Ezequías

Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days?

20 L os demás hechos de Ezequías, sus proezas y cómo hizo el estanque y el conducto para dotar de agua a la ciudad, ¿no está escrito en el libro de las crónicas de los reyes de Judá?

And the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and all his might, and how he made a pool, and a conduit, and brought water into the city, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

21 E zequías durmió con sus padres, y en su lugar reinó su hijo Manasés.

And Hezekiah slept with his fathers: and Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.
